We had a nice afternoon drinking and eating here. Of course we were given the usual "you don't have a reservation?" and all the bs that follows when a place is empty but they want to look exclusive. We finally were given a table and found only one other table occupied. We spent 2 hours there and only one more table came in. Point is you may need to pushy to get in. We had heard this was a Michelin rated restaurant and wanted to try it. The tasting menu is an overall good value at $56 or so for 6 samplings. The food was perfectly fine but I was disappointed thinking it would really be a "wow" after hearing all the hype. It's worth a stop. Just make a reservation so you don't have to do the silly dance to get in.

In general this place was a disappointment. The atmosphere is lovely the service is very good but the food is pretty expensive for what you get. We were a party of three and one of us wanted to do the expensive tasting menu but they said everyone at the table needs to do it. We don't think that is a very good policy. We had the filet ala carte and then a risotto and finally salmon trout. They each were very tasty but the portions are small except for the risotto. Each Andre was about $20 which is pretty expensive for this town. The tasting menu is about $50 USD for five or six courses that does not include wine again pretty expensive for this town. But perhaps it's worth it we may try that some other time.

This place is amazing - we did the tasting menu and it was all impeccable! Every dish and our server - highly recommended if you're a foodie!

Wonderful restaurant/bar located in the GORGEOUS Hotel Matilda. For me, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was wonderful. We enjoyed the charcuterie board which was really tasty - good selection of cheeses and specialty meats. We also enjoyed the beef burger, the tuna tartar and a flat noodle pasta that I don't see on the menu now (it might have been a special). The food was really good, definitely make sure to stop by when in San Miguel de Allende!

in one word, wow. the staff is extremely attentive and the ambience is relaxed yet sophisticated. this place is definitely underrated considered that the chef , one of the best in mexico, combines contemporary mexican fare with traditional staples from the otomi people and the guanajuato region. one of my appetizer was a uniformly charred avocado with shrimp ceviche inside the pit of the avocado. you can't find that at many fine dining restaurants wherever. i will for sure come back here with my family next year.

Aldama 53 San Miguel De Allende 415-152-1015 We had a delicious lunch at Moxi. The surroundings are lovely and it has an indoor area as well as a covered, heated outdoor area. The service is very professional and through. Waiters dressed in black and white. They have a full bar as well as good entree selections with a fresh twist. The bread is fresh baked and delicious. We had several items off the lunch menu which looked more like a brunch menu. The menu was somewhat limited. We had the Eggs Benedict, Salmon and Bagel, Hash Browns and a bean spread, cheese topped broiled bread which the name escapes me. All were cooked perfectly and presented well on the table. The Eggs Benedict were topped with crispy shoe lace fries and the egg yolks were a rich deep yellow indicating fresh locally sourced eggs. The bagel was warm and toasted and the salmon was lightly smoked and fresh with multiple toppings and included the traditional cream cheese. The hash browns were an unusual combination served with napal underneath. It was warm and comfortable. It's a little hard to find but look for Hotel Matilda and its located in the back. The taster was great. Small dishes but enough to get a great sense of what Moxi has to offer. The garambullo sorbet is out of this world.

Crispy on outside and fluffy inside. Amazing. Best I've had. For dinner entree I had the short rib. Melt in your mouth and so flavorful. All I can say is that the dishes are common but the execution is extraordinary. The restaurant itself is beautiful. A courtyard with a fountain in the middle with thousands of red rose petals for Valentine's Day weekend. Better than any rooftop restaurant. It was so wood I went back for brunch on Sunday. Also had a cool bar area that had a DJ spinning vinyls of various genre including classic r and b.

The main dining area has an open ceiling and fountain, but there is also a back dining room with retractable patio roof. The bar is so cool too, with a large DJ table loaded with records. I loved seeing a photo of Tupac and Biggie on the wall. Even this place knows that they are still the best rappers of all time. We got to be the very first guests for the day, hence the serene photos and video. I absolutely love the decor, vibe, and the music. The menu has an English and Spanish version, but it is kinda limited. Still there are some really interesting dishes like the fusion Tandoori Chicken Tacos in flour tortillas, which I got. The Miso soup does have a lot of seaweed in it, so just be aware of that. And then there was the burger; so juicy and delicious served with seasoned wedge potato's. And to end the meal you get a small dish with complimentary mini cookies. It was a great experience. I highly recommend.

We ran the gamut of bars in Zona Centro, and this spot made a fitting finale since it was the most high-end spot we visited. Only a half-block from the social epicenter of Jardin Allende, it provides a nice view of the top of the parroquia from their rooftop terrace where we were seated (Photo 3). The restaurant definitely had a more refined ambiance than the previous four places. We could tell it was a popular spot among wealthy American expats because the ambient voices sounded more like Chicago than Mexico. No Spanish, just English. The cocktail was a tangy treat though, a Tamarind Margarita (Photo 8), and the Jicama Taco was a satisfying veggie ending to our evening (Photo 10).
