This was our first time visiting San Miguel de Allende, and after a long flight, we were ready to eat. I checked Yelp for nearby spots, and Inside Café came up--it was within walking distance of our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. We chose a table at the top of the restaurant, which offered a lovely view of the town. We eventually moved to the lower level because it was a little chilly with a breeze. To start, we ordered the spring roll and pork belly, along with a Jamaica, a margarita, and an old fashioned. The spring roll was decent, but the pork belly really stood out--it was incredible! Margarita and old fashion were on point too! For our mains, we tried the curry plate, a noodle dish, and a sandwich. All were solid, but the curry plate was definitely the highlight. To end the meal, we shared an espresso martini--and it did not disappoint. We're already planning to come back for breakfast. The service was excellent, and considering how much we ordered, the pricing felt like a great value.

Wow! This place is amazing And if I come back to San Miguel, I'm definitely coming back here! There was not a wait when we got there despite their limited seating. I will give them credit for their unique design of a three story small space. The food was absolutely delicious as well as the drinks. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place! Beautiful view from the third floor!

Lovely late dinner/ snacking. We had the pork belly (so tender), broccoli (could have been a little more "burnt" and more flavor), spring rolls (this was my favorite of the three). Small rooftop with limited seating. There was no wait at 8 pm on a Thursday. I loved the passionfruit lemonade. Says that there is a happy hour every day from 3-6 and all day on Sunday. Looking at our neighbors food, the main dishes portions looked very small for U.S. standards.

We came here for dinner on our second day in SMA since they have some vegan options. We ordered the vegan Vietnamese Fresh Rolls (3), Shiitake Miso Ramen, and the Sambal Kacang Cauliflowwer plate, Sunset Sour, and Jamaica lemonade. The fresh rolls had a bit a of a kick, like maybe they contained ginger (in the Vietnamese sauce it came with), which I personally did not care for, but my husband did like them. I thought the Sambal plate was delicious, considering curry can be hit or miss with me, but this one definitely was to my liking; I'm not the biggest curry person, unless it has some coconut milk in it; but I think the creaminess came from the peanut sauce, which was good; the plate also came with white rice. My husband primarily ate the Ramen and reported that it was good. We ate on their small rooftop area, which was quaint and cute. The service was quick, attentive, and helpful. Overall, I would come back.

Great food, great service, and great views. We took a seat up on the roof top and we had a nice view of one of the churches. Our server was attentive, friendly, and she brought us water as soon as we sat down. We ordered two sandwiches, two Margaritas, and one french toast entrée to share. El Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Mesquite smoked pulled pork with homemade BBQ sauce & a mix of cheeses. A side salad with homemade pickles, cherry tomatoes, toasted seeds on top & a side of horseradish mayo El Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Black pepper crusted chicken with bell peppers, caramelized onions & mix of cheeses. A side salad with homemade pickles, cherry tomatoes, toasted seeds & a side of horseradish mayo Inside French Toast (SWEET): Soaked in a vanilla sauce and served with a mango compote, berries, Greek yogurt & a drizzle of homemade Jamaica syrup. Sprinkled with almonds & Amarant. The sandwiches were both really good and were both loaded with the goods. They were both very flavorful and the protein sizes were great. The side salads were very fresh and the dressing was great. Our favorite dish was the french toast and it was enough for the both of us to share as a dessert. It was topped off with fresh fruits and the inside of the french toast itself was fluffy and warm. The view was great from atop and we had a good lunch. It is small though as there are only a few tables in this area. I would come back again if in the area!

I can't get over how good the food is here in San Miguel. The ham and cheese sandwich is unlike any you'll ever have. My friend had the Vietnamese salad which was incites. And I had the tostones which were tasty. All the portions all large. Great food and great value. Great service and ambience! We sat on the rooftop patio overlooking the cobblestone streets.

5 all the way for food service and ambiance! My absolute favourite restaurant in San Miguel de Allende. Never a disappointing mouthful You have got to try their different menus and Happy Hour is daily 3-6 pm. Open at 8:30 am, Monday through Friday, my Iced Peanut butter Latte was sensational. The Sexy Breakfast, French Toast (Gluten free) is awesomeness in each bite. I had the divine Ensalada Vietnamita (GF)! XamXam/Inside Cafe is my absolute favourite restaurant in all of San Mivuel.

Lovely spot for brunch! We came here for late lunch around 2pm and the cafe was pretty empty by then. For food we got the birria grilled cheese special along with the sexy Mexican breakfast. The birria grilled cheese was rich and super comfortably, especially dipped into the consume they serve on the side. It's definitely on the heavier side but a nice treat. The Mexican breakfast was a nice light brunch dish with 2 sausage links on top of beans, avocado, salsa and herbs. We also got the hibiscus lemonade to try which was good as well. The flavor was a bit syrupy but nice when mixed a few times. Overall the ambiance on the rooftop and food makes this a solid choice for a casual lunch. We enjoyed it here.

Happened upon this spot after going to the market which is close by. We were directed to the top of restaurant with views. The waiter was very helpful in explaining the various dishes and efficient. I had the Eggy Bagel which had a couple of eggs, grilled cherry tomatoes and greens with dressing and seeds. Really good and reasonable. My husband had eggs with an assortment of grilled vegetables, also excellent. Highly recommend

Extremely great brunch. It was a culinary experience. The service was very good. We had an egg plate (on a grill plate with plenty of nicely grilled vegetables), French toast, and mole tacos. All were very good with very fresh ingredients. One of the best restaurants here.

Best in town for breakfast and brunch. Two stories of rooftop seating with view of the city. There are a lot of gluten free options in the menu and also vegetarian options: they have special drinks and dishes. I had Oat-chata cold brew. It's a gluten free option using oak instead of rice and mix with other spices, taste really good and different. Tried two different breakfast dishes they are both amazing. The savory French toast is very different, must try. And all dishes come avocado and greens very balanced of nutrition. They also have espresso martini as well for breakfast if you want to have a kick start of the day, just ask they can make it and very cheap

    Sexy Mexican Breakfast

Amazing breakfast spot in San Miguel de Allende. We came here both mornings just to try different things, including - and I am not ashamed - an Espresso Martini at 930am. Delicious! Food was amazing - the first day i had the Sexy Mexican Breakfast which was similar to Huevos Rancheros - very yummy, though I wouldn't call it sexy per se. The next day I had their famous pulled pork and cheese sandwich (more of a brunch item) which was finger licking good. I could have ordered another one had I not been expecting to have lunch a few hours later. When you come, be sure to go all the way to the rooftop for the best seats. There is open air seating on the second floor as well, but rooftop is where its at. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting San Miguel.

We had lunch here on the rooftop and loved the view of the church. We really enjoyed the avocado toast with spinach and mushrooms, plus the tumeric lemonade and ginger lemonade were so good. The food, service, views, and price were outstanding. The entrance is easily missed. It is right near the Plaza Civica.

Conveniently located on the cobblestoned artery between our hotel and Zona Centro's social hub, Jardin Allende, this three-floor cafe was compact but surprisingly relaxing given the constrained layout of the seating. The cafe's name translates appropriately to "good aromas" since the roasted beans wafted throughout the space. On our first visit, we arrived in the middle of the afternoon and treated ourselves to the MX$85 Affogato, a nice combo of vanilla gelato and an espresso shot (Photo 10). We came back the following morning when the place was literally percolating with customers. This time we shared a table on the rooftop. What I appreciated was how the owner had no compunction about telling laptoppers not to monopolize tables clearly set up for multiple people. This time we had true beverages with their own twists. I had the MX$60 Cococcino, a cappuccino with a touch of coconut oil, and Jamie went for the MX$70 Iced Buzz Latte with honey and a double espresso shot (Photo 9). Both perfectly satisfied because beyond the quality of the beans, we saw the exacting process they followed in their execution. It was a smooth brew in a chill space that was obviously attracting a lot of expats. I wish we had more time for a third visit.
