    Amazing beats

This restaurant was amazing! The food was amazing, innovative, exciting, bold, expressive, local had me so inspired and wanting more. My wife and I enjoy the chef's table! We were in the hands of the amazing, charming, extremely comfortable, brilliant and innovative Chef Jesus Vazquez! He made us feel like we were the only ones on the planet. Every dish made you smile from the way they served it with amazing pairings my wife enjoy the wine pairings. I enjoyed mocktails each was bold, but yet comforting! I can't say enough about the amazing staff at this restaurant we look forward to returning and bringing our friends..

Burnt Eggplant with rain mushrooms, local jocoque cheese & pistachios! Ugly Delicious...but best eggplant dish ever!

Hard to choose with so many options for great eats in San Miguel de Allende. But my sis and I mustered on and found this gem of a place away from the main square but worth the walk. First off, Aperi is such a quaint restaurant set out in simple elegance. Service is almost choreographed to be sure patrons are attended to and made to feel special. Nothing to add but the pics I took of our delicious dishes and libations. Go go go when you're in this part of the world and when you do, 3 words...CRISPY SUCKLING PIG!!!

Last night we indulged in the 8 Course Wine Pairing At Aperi. What a decadent beautiful experience sitting in their covered courtyard until the rain started and we were getting sprayed so they moved us indoor. The staff here cannot do enough for you. The attention to every thing, impeccable I have to say. The eight courses were top notch, one more delicious than the next. The wine pairing were spot on and the wines came from Europe, USA, and Mexico itself. A superb selection. The dress code is casual but trendy, no need to suit or dress up which is nice. This was truly a special night and I highly recommend if you are in San Miguel de Allende and want an incredible experience with food and wine then you must come here.

Don't miss this restaurant! The new chef is incredible. Jesus Vazquez Reyna took the kitchen helm two weeks before we dined there. The 5-course chef tasting menu was fabulous! Each dish was beautiful to see and offered complex flavor profiles to delight the taste buds. Reyna uses local ingredients and culturally rooted approaches to fine dining. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive. The restaurant offers a sophisticated, beautiful ambience for a wonderful dining experience. This was absolutely our best dinner in San Miguel de Allende.

My husband and I we told this was one of the top restaurants in San Miguel. We weren't misinformed. We went with the 8course paired menu and it was a wonderful way to taste the menu and enjoy some local wines. Being from Chicago, the price was fair but definitely more expensive than any other places we tried. We didn't get to try the melted Brie with pastry but the table next to us did and it looked phenomenal and they loved it. Also, if you choose to order al a carte, the dishes are good sizes that can easily be shared. The service was immaculate, knowledgeable , and gracious (as with everywhere in San Miguel). I can't not say a bad thing about Aperi and it's staff. The meal, wine and ambiance I hope to go back some day.

This place is quite amazing and a definate stop for "foodies". We splurged on their 7 course food and wine pairing and while expensive especially by San Miguel standards (about $75 per person) it was not disappointing. As you can see by the pictures, each dish was presented in the most gorgeous fashion - and they all tasted quite grand too. The portions were small but actually quite perfectly sized based on the flavors and we were certainly full by the end of the meal - full of wine too. All the wines were made somewhere in Mexico (who knew) and some were quite good (and I live in Sonoma California - so I'm quite spoiled. Looking at the food served at other tables - I think we will eat a la carte next time - so many wonderful dishes to try. This is definately worth a stop while in San Miguel - where there are soooooooooo many places to chose from. Enjoy!

Honestly underwhelming, felt a bit rushed and the preparations weren't particularly interesting nor reflective of the region.

We ran the gamut of bars in Zona Centro, and this spot made a fitting finale since it was the most high-end spot we visited. Only a half-block from the social epicenter of Jardin Allende, it provides a nice view of the top of the parroquia from their rooftop terrace where we were seated (Photo 3). The restaurant definitely had a more refined ambiance than the previous four places. We could tell it was a popular spot among wealthy American expats because the ambient voices sounded more like Chicago than Mexico. No Spanish, just English. The cocktail was a tangy treat though, a Tamarind Margarita (Photo 8), and the Jicama Taco was a satisfying veggie ending to our evening (Photo 10). However, the staff didn't make us feel that way since they gave us the table with inarguably the best view of the city during the most photogenic time of the day, magic hour at sunset (Photo 3). How did we get so lucky since we made our reservation just the day before? And what better way to start than with a pair of MX$340 Carajillos, the Mexican version of espresso martinis (Photo 7). The use of Licor 43 lent a welcome sweet spiciness to the deep espresso and fit the moment perfectly. We were happy to receive a complimentary serving of warm Focaccia topped with a wedge of liver pate, olive oil, and chives (Photo 10). It was a nice surprise quickly devoured. Our first shared dish was the MX$365 Ensalada Luna, a hearty and enticing mix of greens, stracciatella cheese, speck ham, fresh peaches and figs, and quinoa in a citrus and vanilla vinaigrette (Photo 4). Our entree was the MX$406 Tacos de Lechon Rostizado, a trio of roasted suckling pig tacos with crispy skin cracklings, red onion, and fresh green salsa (Photo 5). The pork was fork tender. Nestled in a flour tortilla, the soft pulled meat stood in nice contrast to the crack of the skin. We went for a second drink, but this time a mocktail, the MX$195 Chilate, a refreshing alcohol-free blend of cacao, rice, cinnamon, and raw cane sugar in a coconut shell (Photo 6). While awaiting our dessert order, we were surprised by a complimentary Happy Anniversary dessert, a bit of a head-scratcher. We didn't say we were celebrating anything, but hey, we didn't complain. The sparkler was already lit and the staff was harmonizing. It was a chocolate ganache cake with blueberries atop puffed rice (Photo 8). That didn't stop us from enjoying the crispy-sweet MX$289 Churros with cinnamon ice cream and champurrado chocolate sauce (Photo 9), while entranced by the nighttime view (Photo 2). TOURISTS BEWARE: WE WERE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. Wanted to share…read moremy family's experience when we were here on October 1, 2025. For context, we were a huge group (~20) with reservations that were set up by our hotel, and we were broken up into 3 different tables. Our reservation was done roughly 24 hours in advance, so I don't fault them for this in any way. Another neutral thing is that there is only 1 check per table. Not anything bad, but for large groups, please take note. Speaking solely on behalf of the table that I was seated at, these were the negatives of our experience: - We were charged for bottled water without being made aware that the charge applied; additionally, we were charged for more bottles than were on our table. - We were told a price on a cocktail, but it appeared differently (more expensive) on our bill. - We ordered cocktails with both higher-end and house liquor, but we were charged the higher-end price for all of them. - We were charged for an extra cocktail. - There was a hair embedded in one of the plate's guacamole--clearly mixed in--and when we respectfully raised the concern to our waiter, the manager came out and condescendingly explained it was "due to wind." I wanted to go through the bill on my own, but (1) the person taking the payment waited next to me with the card reader, and (2) our large group had to get going. I understand my mistake in not going through the bill before I paid, but that many errors on our bill just feels deliberate to prey on tourists, especially considering we tipped on this inflated amount for a meal that was already pricey to begin with. There are some positives to our experience: the views were beautiful, they offered blankets and heaters to combat the cold wind, and I'm grateful that the staff spoke English (most of the folks in our group at the other tables were older and wouldn't be able to use a translation app) and answered our many questions; however, I will never return to this restaurant again because of the way we were clearly taken advantage of. For any tourists, please learn from my mistake and be sure to go through your bill with a VERY fine comb.
