This place was ok. Very modern interior with funky lighting. The food was decent but there was ZERO ambiance. A little music would have really helped. This is hands down the worst food experience I have been exposed to. I am more than fine with spending over $400 for dinner for two, but not THIS dinner. The food lacked flavor, the combination of "flavors" left me feeling ill. So much so that my fiancé and I requested the bill half way through the meal and left. The dinner included "wine pairing" for an extra charge, but don't be fooled by what they believe wine pairing to be. Upon being seated we were told we can pick a rosé, white wine, or red wine. No wine pairing, just a wine offering that left a lot to be desired. Perhaps the menu offerings on a regular day are better but for NYE, a disappointment to say the least. read more

I always have a concern about returning to a restaurant where I have had an incredible experience because no matter what there almost is some disappointment. Well, our meal at Aperi with master chef, Matteo Salas was if anything even better than last year. In fact, I would have to say that it was the best meal that my wife and I have had since we dined with him last year (and in between we have eaten in some of the most highly rated restaurants in NYC). We dined at the chef's table and each and every course was superb, even sublime! The service was impeccable and with each course, Matteo took the time to give us a detailed description of what we were being served. Bravo, Matteo! The only suggestion I would make is to increase the lighting in the room where we dined so the artistic preparation can be better appreciated. read more

I can say its in my top 3 best meals I have had in my life. My husband had the Octopus and he said it could be the best he has ever tasted. The Shrimp pasta was delicious. Even though I expected more on dessert it was still good we had the Mango . If you are in San Miguel this place is a must stop. Definitely will be back for another Pasta :) read more

This place is quiet and sophisticated. The food quality is great, albeit a bit gourmet and refined. The wine selection is limited but good quality and has interesting international selections for reasonable prices. Its not big portions but high flavor and interesting. A great romantic spot. Really disappointing meal. Food was consistently bland and under seasoned. Pastas in particular should be avoided. The duck was only good dish and not that great. Service was very sporadic. An unbelievable joke of a fine dining restaurant. We arrived at 8:00 to find only one couple there both showing plumbers cracks from their jeans and their child running around the restaurant screaming. The lighting was so bright it looked like an operating room. I paid for our bottle of water and we left. The other reviews leave me quite confused. I suppose compared to an Applebee's it's amazing but I couldn't get out fast enough. Don't go here under any circumstances. read more

Best meal I can recall in recent memory! I got the 5 course and my fiance got the course and we were not disappointed! We passed on the wine pairings and split a bottle with another couple instead, but to be honest I forgot about the wine because the food was that good. Everything was so delicious, not to mention beautifully presented. A few dishes were unique and surprising like the grilled beet salad. I've never been a huge fan of beets but after that dish I've changed my mind. I was worried with it being several courses you might get tiny portions of just a bite or two but was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes that allowed us to share with each other and sample more dishes. Favorites were foie gras, sashimi, squid, duck and beef medallion. It is a pricier meal for this area, but we feel well worth it. The other thing to consider is that a meal of this caliber would be much more expensive back home in the US. If we ever come back to san miguel we'll definitely make another reservation here read more

Perhaps we're not into trend-setting food, but the experience didn't quite live up to the hype we had been reading or hearing about. The food was good, for sure, but not overly exceptional. The service was efficient, but not very gracious. The atmosphere was very cool and chic and modern. We had also eaten at another highly rated restaurant in town and preferred it to Aperi. It's difficult to comment on anything but the service at Aperi. There were four of us for dinner and drinks and from the very moment we were seated, nothing went well. We ordered a bottle of white wine which arrived uncorked missing about half a glass of wine. We ordered a cheese board which, for some reason did not meet with the waiter's approval. We all ordered pasta dishes which the waiter did not seem to think was enough food to order. We added a suckling pig dish to share just to make him happy. The food was okay; not great, just okay. When we asked for the check, two different waiters tried to get us to order desert or coffee. The waiter then actually excused us for "eating light." The entire experience was other worldly. My son in law planned what was supposed to be a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner for our family but turned out to be a disaster. We got all dressed up for what should have a 5 star experience with 7 courses but a local taco truck would have been better. From them serving us seafood after we requested no seafood prior to the horrendous timing of courses ( 1 course pickles took over an hour) and the overpriced fixed menu being completely untasteworthy this place is not worth it. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my dogs. Take your money elsewhere in San Miguel as I am requesting a full refund. In n out anyone? read more

After going to Aperi we walked out completely unsatisfied. For the first course to come out, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes after sitting down, then an additional 40 minutes for the second course, and long gaps throughout the rest of the dinner. When we had not asked for fish because of specific allergies, the dish came out and it smelled suspicious and we realized there was fish. On top of that, they told us it was fine to eat. Do not recommend going there. Terrible experience and won't recommend to anyone. read more

We had high hopes to go to Aperi due to our hotel's raving recommendation. So much so that we even chose the restaurant for our Christmas Eve dinner. I have never experienced a more unsatisfying and despicable meal in my life. Our first course took over an hour to be served. During that time we asked for a bread basket to tide us over and they said they couldn't bring it to us. The timing was extremely poor for every course, waiting longer and longer for each. We were brought food items that veered from our strict specifications due to members of our family being highly allergic. Their lack of regard toward our allergic specifications was disreputable. We attempted to speak to management and they refused to do anything to accommodate us or reconcile the atrocious attempt at the meal we were given. This ruined the spirit of our Christmas Eve! To be noted: I never write reviews and felt the need to do so for this restaurant in particular due to my horrendous experience!!! If I could give zero stars I would've. read more

This was by far the WORST dining experience of my life. I went here with my family on Christmas Eve where we were presented with a 7 course pre fixe menu consisting mainly of seafood after we emailed prior saying we didn't eat seafood flag number one. We received course one (pickles!) after 45 mins of sitting down with no bread or anything but water flag two. Our second course came at the hour and a half mark and was also a small pastry flag three. Looking back we should have gotten up here and left. Course 3/4/5 were all a blur of small bland and very uninteresting foods that I can't even remember what they were. We left before course 6/7 was served along with other tables surrounding us because we couldn't put up any longer with the completely UNACCEPTABLE timing in between courses and the TERRIBLE food for a very expensive meal. We spoke to Management and the chef on the way out and they refused to apologize or reconcile this terrible experience. A complete scam of a restaurant that clearly doesn't value its customers. If you go here be prepared to leave hungry after sitting for 4 hours and in search for a taco cart where I can assure you will be a much better meal!!! read more

It was very disappointing to receive such poor service at a restaurant that is touted to be one of the best in San Miguel. While the food was excellent, the inattentive service and attitude of the waitstaff were a total turnoff. For example, after topping off our wine glasses once, the waiter never came back to refill our glasses so we did until bottle was empty. Never asked if we wanted another bottle. Same experience with the bottled water. Additionally the waiters never returned after we received our food to see how the meals were or if we wanted anything else e.g. pepper for our salad, cheese for pasta etc. We spent $70USD per couple to dine at Aperi, which is nearly twice that of most restaurants in the area, so we definitely expected much better service. Don't think we'll return any time soon. read more
