Although the sign on the door said no pets I saw a patio and found out dogs are welcome on the patio. We arrived just at 1pm for lunch. As a vegetarian I had a choice of 2 different salads and asked for a recommendation. Our server suggested the Avocado salad. It turned out being a perfect salad for me. The service was wonderful- a bowl of water was even brought for Duro. The patio had many fans and was very comfortable despite it being in the mid 80s.

This Peruvian restaurant is a bit hard to find on a quiet street away from all the hubbub. But it is worth finding, The ambiance is very nice but relaxed. It has an amazing opening roof so when it gets cold, they close it. Other times you are in a courtyard. The wait staff was very attentive. The first time I was alone and they were very nice. I had one of the Tiradito de atun. It was a ceviche-like dish and the flavors were amazing. It was so pretty I just wanted to look at it. Then I had the avocado stuffed with vegetables as my main dish. It was delicious and so filling. It had tomatoes, carrots, onions, corn, broccoli, cucumber you name it and the sauce was so tasty. I came back with my family a couple of days later & the waiter recognized me and was so friendly. This time we had the marinated chicken, the pork ribs & arroz al cilantro. All amazing. This place is great & not expensive. I highly recommend it.

Visit the top Peruvian restaurant in town for an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend trying their savory ceviche, prepared with fresh seafood. The portions are generous and satisfying. Enjoy their great selection of cocktails served by friendly staff in an excellent ambiance. The restaurant offers ample seating for both large and small parties.

The walk to get to La Parada was an amazing start to our dinner, as soon as we got in it only got better. Never had Pezsco before, but their peas on mule reminded me of a capirrhina. We all had different dinner entrees, I had Rice with scallops, shrimp, and octopus. Other hits were steak and short ribs. Carlos was our server, he was fantastic! Definitely a winner

For better protection of many retiree heart health at 2000 meter altitude I wouldn't suggest la parada. FDA would or would not ban the trip to this place if nutritional contents of sodium level was listed. Chef should have grabbed salt instead of sugar. Deadly salty. Ceviche and thinly sliced "filet" dish with killer saltiness. My heart beat alarmingly fast not because of high altitude. The wonderful Mexican hospitality and service that I experienced in Guanajuato was non existent in this restaurant. Our table lamp went off twice during the dinner. That sums up how salty the ambiance was. Completely overrated.

This restaurant is a bit out of the way but was a great find. Their cocktail selection are amazing, Strong but refreshing. The ambiance was relax with enough green foliage and open air. The servers are friendly and tentative. I order a pisco punch(recommended) and the most delicious seabass ceviche( highly recommended) Then follow by arroz afrodisiaco, which is a a sea food rice and finish off with a passion fruit cheesecake. I'm in love with this restaurant and can't wait to come back!

Good food, good service. The Pisco Punch was amazing if you like girlie drinks. We had the pork ribs (I recommend) and a beef dish that was good, but maybe a little too much vinegar? The lemon pie dessert was akin to a McDonald's apple pie (McD) being way better! I'm not complaining much because for $60 US. We got 2 entrees, 2 drinks, sparkling water and dessert!

Came here for a fantastic lunch on a whim (and because of good TripAdvisor reviews). The outdoor seating area is amazingly quaint. Food was fantastic and service top notch. The fried octopus was a bit overcooked, which is unfortunate because it was supposed to be one of their top specialties. Other than that everything else was a solid 5 stars

We loved our meal here. First, they bring out pita chips and butter, which didn't look exciting, but the butter was off-the-charts fantastic. My Cusco Mule was a pretty standard Moscow Mule, but the blended margarita was great. I had the Que Tal Saltado as an entree, and it was just phenomenal. The beef was tender and perfect, the veggies and sauce amazing, the potatoes unique and delicious. Even the rice was good. Service was also fantastic. Loved every bit(e) of it.

This Peruvian Restaurant was on both Yelp and TripAdvisor and recieved very high reviews. So we decided to try it. We are happy to report the reviews were not wrong! Not far from the center town. This restaurant, like many others, are not seen well from the street. You need to either search on Yelp for recommendations, ask a local or do what I love to do and just walk in and take a chance. That's one of the most adventurous things you can do as a foodie, and hope you're enjoying your meal. Lol! They close at 10 Pm so get in early. This place has a great atmosphere and the decor is really cool. The staff was professional, polite and also speak English. They have a very nice variety of wines and some refreshing craft drinks. The menu has a variety of meats, seafood, soups, and salads. The prices are reasonable and the portions are perfect. The cocktails were refreshing. I had pisco mojito with mango. It was a little weak with the rum but tasty. The other 2 were chilcano sabor. It was a standard mojito. I thought it was weak as well. So ask the waiter or bartender to make it stronger. They have some signature dishes to try. We had the Higaditos Asalt (marinated chicken livers) this dish was amazing. Very tasty and you will love how they season the liver. I was very impressed. The rest of us had another amazing dish called El Afrodisiaco it had so much flavor and it was a perfect portion. We did have a latte and an americano (no pics) and their coffee in San Miguel so far has been incredibly flavorful. We had the mango mousse and the chocolate tart ( sorry no pic) and both we delicious. The mango mousse was recommended by the waiter and it was amazing, light like a mousse but tasted like you were eating a mango with cream. The chocolate tart was delicious but nothing special. It was like any other tart. Overall the place was fantastic and I would go back to have their octopus dinner. It was the other choice and from the pics it looks delicious. If you're in San Miguel De Allende make sure this place is on your list.

I was excited to come here and try this restaurant I had yelped it and seen the reviews. This place is a little hidden. The inside is very nice and modern. As soon as we got there we were greeted by the host which is the only person in this whole restaurant that I encountered that was nice and attentive and why I'm giving a 2 star rather than a 1. Once the host sat us down he gave us the menus. Then was 20 min passed before the server came to ask if we wanted to drinks. By this time we let him know we were ready to order as well and he rolled his eyes. Then took another while to get our food. My husband ordered a ceviche and myself a Qué tal Lomo? My ordered was tasty but had too many tomatoes , the rice was under cooked making it crunchy and they used white or yellow onion instead of the red that originally goes with this dish and gives its flavor. My husband's ceviche tasted like it just had lime juice on top no other flavor. After we were finished we literally had to call the server twice to get our check. When the check finally came after some time then it was another wait just for the server to come cash us out. It was incredible I've never had such bad service!!!! In conclusion if you are looking for good Peruvian this is not the place to be. I understand this is not Perú and some of the ingredients might be hard to find. But when I compare to the Peruvian food in states their is still a large gap in the quality and then top it off with the horrible service it has. Just stay away!!!

The food was delicious. It's "fusion" so don't expect it to be authentic, but the ingredients were high quality, the presentation lovely, perfect pisco sours, Terrific service. We ordered the choclo, palta rellena, ceviche, chupe de Camarón , and lomo saltado. The only dish that didn't meet expectations was the lomo. Instead of French fries the chef used some king of airy potato puff. It's just the wrong choice for the dish. Innovation doesn't always work. But he got the sauce right, the meat cooked perfectly. read more
How is this place so highly rated? The restaurant itself is very charming, but that is all it has it going for. We ordered the Ceviche Levanta Muertos and Filete Huancaina and they were both incredibly salty. Let's start with the Ceviche, as mentioned before, it was incredibly salty, but also, it was so small and so not worth the price. It is supposed to contain octopus, scallop, fish and shrimp, and sure it does, if you count one shrimp, miniscule chunks of octopus and a whisper of a scallop as containing all of that, and for that price, I expected atleast to get something more substantial. The Filete Huancaina was just inedible. We left almost all the meat, it was tough and thinly sliced, and because the sauce was so salty, we just couldn't even finish it despite how much we payed for it. I wouldn't even really consider that steak at all, I'd call it rubber. Lastly, the service was such a let down, probably the worst I have had in Mexico. Hands down, worst meal I've had in all my trip. read more

LOVE this place. I know it's boring, but I ordered the chicken sandwich for dinner and it was the BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD. Wonderful flavors and the bread was perfectly toasted. We were recommended this place by multiple people but I was fairly disappointed. I understand this could never compare to Peruvian food in Peru but it also doesn't even come close to Peruvian food in Los Angeles. Food was ok but nothing I would ever recommend to anyone. Hands down my absolute favorite restaurant in this town. From the moment I walked in I knew it would be an amazing night. The staff was super nice for solo me who did not have a reservation. I love sitting at the bar so got a seat fairly quickly. The bartender was nice and attentive and helpful without being over bearing. Hands down the best meal I've had in SMA. My wife had ravioli which she raved about. I can't comment as she did not share. I started with a shrimp bisque type soup, and my wife had some sort of octopus salad. For entrees, I had chicken livers sautéed in soy sauce and chili paste with what was basically a derivative of French fries, but much better. Also had a very nice bottle of Mexican wine. Side note here - Mexican wines are really good! Trying as many as possible this trip! Note that to be safe you should make a reservation. Also, it's right down the street from the bull fighting arena, which happened to be going on the night we were there. Made for an interesting walk. Last, before dinner, try San Mezcal next door. The bartender is very patient and helpful with sampling different mezcales, and they must have at least 50. read more

The restaurant is beautiful and food is the best I had at San Miguel de Allende. Not only did I find the restaurant listed as a "must eat" on Yelp but a chef friend of ours suggested the restaurant as well. Located on Recreo, 2 blocks away from our Airbnb I found myself wanting to go back many times but opted to give other restaurants a chance. We (a group of 7 ppl) had no complaints about the service or the food. In fact, I'm sure it is the only restaurant where we finished all our meals. read more

Great ceviches, they do t take reservations, so I could be a bit of a wait. But the food is good.
Wow, everything we had was delicious. There is a wide variety of pisco-related cocktails, including one with a piece of pork in it! I think they were around 90-100 pesos. We tried a few small portions of ceviche and all tasted fresh and delicious. A roast pork sandwich was actually my favorite thing--so flavorful, yum! A corn appetizer was tasty and the arroz con pollo was tender and delicious. I just don't know what else to say other than that everything was delicious and lovely. The prices are high for what I was used to (I was visiting from Guanajuato) but of course you get what you pay for. This is a classy place with quality, delicious food. Definitely give it a shot! P.S. The chef is Peruvian, but that's it. :) read more
Start with a shot of pisco! Good vegan options - two or more. Vegetarians fare better. Small, yet spacious. Waiters all professional yet not intrusive. Quiet, with great ambience and decorations. Food was excellent. Margaritas were perfect. Place was mostly full despite the fact that the road was closed on both ends. People know about this place and it was obvious that many diners were return/regular patrons. read more

Amazing Dinner! La Parada Recreo #94, Centro San Miguel De Allende, GTO 415 152 0473 www.laparadasm.weebly.com DInner at La Parada was AMAZING! The settings, cleanliness and hospitality was excellent. Service was spot on with multiple servers handling beverages, entrees. appetizers. We started our dinner with cocktails and wine. The pours were generous and the pisco sour was surprisingly good. Pisco straight out of the bottle tastes kind of like kerosene! Our appetizers were salmon ceviche and the laminated mushrooms. Both had fresh bold flavors enhanced by light toppings of onions radishes and sugar snap peas. The salmon dish highlighted some amazing knife work from the kitchen with the snap pea pods being sliced paper thin. Our entrees were equally good if not better. We had the Chino Cochino (braised pork ribs in soy sauce reduction) and the Arroz Afrodiasaco (similar to a seafood paella). Both were delicious and savory with the pork ribs definitely being the better choice of the two. The ribs were fork tender and seasoned perfectly and the garlic mashed potatoes made it a perfect pairing. Most of the Arroz came home in a go box. Our Desserts were delicious as well, we shared the caramel dish and the lemon pie. Both were innovative and shared the freshness and bold flavors of La Parada. Be sure and make reservations as it is a small place and don't forget to take pesos as they don't accept credit cards. This is a must do in San Miguel! We will be going back! Had a celebratory dinner here a couple weeks ago and it was a 5 star experience. Attentive service, gorgeous restaurant and most of all - sumptuous food. All of us had something different and they were equally over the top outstanding. Delicious sauces, tender meats, beautifully presented, up through dessert. Drinks were wonderful too. This is a place to dress nicely and expect a fine dining experience without being ostentatious. Can't wait to return. read more

Never disappoints, La Parada is a go-to every SMA vacation. The dining area has a leafy atrium feel with filtered soft lighting. Our service was prompt and attentive. Holy moly. I went to La Parada with my fiance and his parents with a recommendation for vegan items. Eating vegan in SMA is not the easiest thing to do but La Parada makes it that much easier. We started with a salmon ceviche and a mushroom ceviche for the table. Mushroom ceviche? Yeah, mushroom ceviche. When you put mushrooms in a ceviche it has the consistency of fish. It was honestly the best thing I have ever eaten. So good! For my entree I ordered the Tacu Tacu Veggie which is a stir fry type dish. I cleaned my plate it was so damn good. Honestly, if you haven't tried this place yet, you need to! A little heads up, it would be smart to make a reservation because this place is popular and fills up fast. read more

I wanted to love this place but the experience was a disaster. The only decent dish was a rice dish that was still quite rich. The ceviche didn't taste fresh to me, the shooters they brought were simply odd, and the main dishes didn't leave an impression. Well they left few impressions... 2 hairs found in 2 separate dishes. Sadly I will not be back... read more
My wife and I were looking for something different than the varieties of Mexican food in San Miguel and stumbled upon La Parada after reading a few reviews on TA. Don't let the rather generic exterior fool you: When we walked in, we were surprised how modern and stylish the interior was. I was impressed with the wood decor, as well as the fine lines and modern feel to the restaurant. It was an intimate ambiance, a place for a romantic dinner. The food was simply great. We had a ceviche and avocado salad for appetizers. Both were fresh with a lot of taste (the ceviche was very lime-y, so you might want to avoid it if you are sensitive to citrus). For our mains, I had the equivalent of a Peruvian paella and my wife got the lomo saltado. The portion size of the mains was large - neither of us finished our meals even though they were quite delicious. We also had a couple of the standard pisco sours, which were good but a bit too sweet for my taste (so I had to ask them for just pocito dulce). Overall, I give La Parada 4.75 stars out of 5. The food is top notch and the atmosphere is upscale, but the location outside of El Centro can be a bit of a hike. Otherwise, I recommend La Parada as an excellent break from traditional Mexican cuisine. read more
