I have used this company before for a move and they were great, unfortunately the second time it's been a horrible. I reached out to them back in June to schedule their services for our upcoming move August 1st. Sam went over pricing, return customer discounts etc and we emailed back and forth several times. He collected the move details (even had me select a time window for the move etc) and I asked over and over to let me know what else is needed to confirm our move and he sent me a question form asking additional details which I sent back to him and that was that. Flash forward to yesterday, I had reached out to confirm our move after looking back in my emails from the last time we used them and seeing they had sent me an official confirm and confirm number (none of which Sam sent me) to make sure I was good to go. Of course, as I feared they did not have my reservation even though I emailed Sam multiple times asking if anything else was needed to confirm our reservation. I was told by the gentlemen on the phone that Sam would be contacting me to sort this out and that because I didn't pay a deposit (a deposit I was never asked for by the way, how am I supposed to know as the customer that a deposit is what he needed to put me on their calendar if he didn't freaking tell me that) that they were all booked up and would most likely not be able to move us. I called them and emailed them all day (I was told managers, owners etc would be calling me to figure out options and help and not one person ever called me back) I had to call them every time and was ping ponged around and given "call back in an hour" over and over. So I called end of day at 5 (they close at 7) and their phones were shut off... and have been off still up until this point and not a single response to any of my emails. Btw we booked movers because I am recovering from breaking 5 bones in my foot and would not be able to move our stuff safely with a half broken foot. So now here we are 4 days from our move with zero help or resolution or options from this company, never heard from a single manager or the owner like I was told I would, and had to scramble to book a moving truck ourselves and will have to move my house with a broken foot because of their lack of follow up and scheduling error. We reached out to other movers in the area all of which, of course , are booked since this is so last minute which is really upsetting. Also, I noticed after calling them all day yesterday and today, they managed to change their address on yelp and their website to reflect Glendale CA when it said Pleasant hill CA (and are a Bay Area company) between the Time we booked in June and yesterday while I was playing phone tag with their employees. Not sure what that's all about. I understand times are hard right now but I received ZERO customer service, answers to my questions, or a resolution or options to make this right as I have an email thread with Sam confirming my reservation and the error of not having it on calendar or a deposit collected was their fault not mine. Their quality of service has gone downhill and seriously declined from the first time we used them to today. One last thing before I crash after a most stressful week at work; Open house, deadlines, need for a BIG fantastic display on a budget and no hands or volunteers or bitches to assemble the core of the display. OnSite is recommend by IKEA! One blessing was the flashing of their contact info when I got to the 'home delivery desk' to ask a few quesitons. I gave them a call while I was at Ikea, sitting in a piece of lawn furniture at 7:30 pm. They returned my call right after I left a detailed vm about the 3 pieces I'd purchased. Leaving a message with the detailed item codes will result in an accurate estimate of cost. I used all one line of product, so it was easy to summarize as Ikea has print outs of all of their major lines. In my case all Expedit. I had to change my appointment with OnSite because I didn't get the preferred delivery time i wanted (shocker, more on Ikea home delivery in another review), but it was all good, they set, then flexibly changed my appointment time. They called me back the day prior, confirmed their appointment, came when they said they would, worked efficiently and quietly, and totally got everything done in a timely and affordable manner. Seriously these guys saved my A-S-S and I really appreciate the work that they did for me. While Ikea is cheap, it's all of the shortcuts they take that cut their costs- if you don't have the patience, skill set, or time, call OnSite. They will get the job done. OnSite assembly service is top-notch! Called them up, got a quick and accurate estimate, and same week appointment. When Gary arrived, he was on time, professional, and did a great job. He paid attention to detail and made sure to get everything right. I have no fear that my bed is going to suddenly collapse from under me because of one misplaced screw. Sean came later in the day to finish up and he was also on time, professional, and detailed. He made sure that my ladder shelves were securely attached to the wall and even helped out with clearing out the boxes and debris. They're also friendly without being pushy and we shared some good laughs during the five hours they were here. They work hard and truly care about doing a good job. I sent an email first to Shawn to ask for a quotation, and he was kind enough to give me one. This company kept changing the date to move me. On the third day, they were suppose yo come btwn 8:30-9:30am. After 9:30, my daughter called them and they said they blew a head gasket yesterday and they would be done fixing it in 20 min. They never called me to tell me they were not coming. I found this company on Yelp and didn't really know what to expect. I certainly had a need, which was.. This assembly stuff is complicated, and before I attempt this project potentially causing damage to the goods, I should conduct a search and see if there's a company who can help. Which brings me to this review: The quote was $140 for the entire project, which I thought was high. However after the guys at On Site Assembly spent nearly 2plus hours on-site (no pun intended) pulling all this together, I shortly realized the pricing was more than fair! Shawn was EXTREMELY polite, professional, punctual, and performed an excellent job. I actually enjoyed his company! Here's the takeaway: If you have assembly work.. I made the awful mistake of going on Craigslist to get a custom TV stand/dresser assembled, and my new furniture ended up being partially destroyed, and damaged. This company was a life saver. Here are the full details on why: I bought an L desk online and needed it assembled because it was a too much of a beast to do on my own. I got a quote from OnSite and they actually had been my first choice due to the positive reviews but I ended up going with an assembly guy that my partner had used a few times. Shawn at OnSite even followed up his quote with a phone call to see if I wanted to schedule but I told him I was going with another guy. Big mistake. The guy came and after unboxing all of the desk pieces declared that the instructions were wrong and that pieces were missing. I thanked him for his time and immediately called Shawn at Onsite to see if they could come any time soon. This was a Wednesday; Shawn said he could have a person out on Friday. I was grateful since it was short notice plus I'd passed them over once already. That Friday Gary from OnSite arrived. He was about 15 minutes late but he called to let me know and it wasn't a big deal. He got started on the desk by telling me that the directions that the previous guy said was wrong were actually directions for the hutch that goes with the desk. The previous guy hadn't unpacked the right directions, and even hadn't unpacked all of the pieces but Gary was able to figure it on within minutes of getting started. He also let me know that the previous fellow had put some of the pieces in wrong and that it could cause some cosmetic damage when he removed them. I appreciated him letting me know instead of just moving forward and hoping I wouldn't notice. Then came a bigger mistake. During the assembly of the hutch Gary accidentally messed up one of the wall sides; it didn't interfere with function but it did look pretty awful. He was extremely apologetic and let me know that either I could have a discount on assembly or they'd buy me a whole new desk. Since I was already behind due to the first guy not being able to put it together we worked it out and instead he agreed to assemble another smaller piece of furniture for no extra charge. Toward the end of assembly Gary went to a nearby store for some black tape to cover the area of the hutch wall that he'd messed up. He patched it up so that it looked much better, which he technically didn't have to since we already agreed on a second furniture assembly. Furthermore, my original quote was for 2.5 hours. I thought this time span was a little low considering that reviewers of the desk said it took around 4 hours to put together. With the slight obstacles and two breaks (one to get tape) it actually became a 5 hour project. Nevertheless I was kept at the 2.5 hour quote, which I of course appreciated. So with all that, I would definitely use OnSite again and would recommend them for any assembly projects. Both Shawn and Gary were professional and exhibited great customer service.
