They offer a couple drop-in classes but really the way to go is the series classes. Each series runs ~7 weeks in a specific apparatus OR a set of apparatuses. So far I've taken a drop-in with instructor, April, and a series with instructor, Alison (they are also the owners). I loved both of their teaching styles. Alison really breaks things down and is great a problem solving to figure out what's going on with each student. She is flexible and accommodating with goals and even scheduling. The studio is super laid back socially but also very dedicated to safety and making sure students are usually proper form before throwing anyone into more difficult tricks. The studio itself has SUPER high ceilings and is very open - even with 2 classes going at once it has never felt crowded. People are pretty friendly here, too. I've had the experience where aerial groups can be cliquey and difficult to break into as a new person but I don't feel that here. Anyone is happy to have me join in on conversation and help me feel included.

They're supportive, respectful, helpful, and fun, which is really what you want when you're learning how to flip and fly around in the air. The pricing is right, too, and they have a range of classes from introductory to advanced, as well as fitness classes and open practices. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for an ultra chic, modern, pretentious studio... look elsewhere! This studio…read moregives you that warm fuzzy 'local community' vibe (they even sell local artist goods in the lobby if you're interested in a 'one of a kind' statement necklace)! The classes are offered in a beautiful brick building (wood floors, big windows) on what I would consider the 'Main Street' of Lafayette Square. Plenty of parking in front of the studio or nearby. You have to travel through a small alley to get to the door (which is quite romantic... you can smell incense burning as you approach the studio's entrance). All of the instructors are friendly, helpful, and set a good pace for class. A couple of my friends enjoyed their experience with the studio so much they decided to complete the 'teacher training'! It's been fun to attend classes they host now to see how much their practice has developed!

If you're even questioning if you should drop in to a class at Southtown Yoga, the answer is YES…read more Beginner or advanced, ST Yoga gives a full yoga workout that will not only stretch you and relax you, but you'll also feel the burn. This week I went to a hot yoga class with my husband and his niece (she's a regular here) and although I've done regular yoga, glow yoga, aerial yoga, and yoga on the rocks, I had never done hot yoga so I was game. And I also hadn't done any form of yoga in quite a few months so I was a little weary since it wasn't clear what the ideal experience level was. We signed up online which makes the process quicker since you don't have to fill out any paperwork when you arrive. As soon as we got there we jumped in line, paid for our class ($7 cash/$10 card), kicked our shoes off, and found a space. The class filled up quickly so I'm willing to bet, late arrivals won't get in... which isn't a bad thing. I absolutely loved the studio we were in. The windows look out to Park Ave, but they do have a screen that blocks the sun from beaming down on you (I mean you're already going to be hot enough... you don't need the extra help). I like the whole design of ST Yoga in general. They updated just enough to make it comfortable like the nice finished bathrooms and changing areas, but they left a lot of the original features in tact like the wood floors and the large pane windows. What I love the most is that you enter ST Yoga through the back which takes you through this cute bricked alleyway... it truly feels like a secret that you're being let in on. So hot yoga. It was fast paced and hot. It was clear that it was going to be hot-hot and not just luke warm as soon as we walked in. I didn't mind it, but you'd be crazy if you didn't bring a water bottle (or two) with you. There is no pressure to push your body past it's limits, but more so to listen to your body and know when you can challenge yourself. And any reservations I had about going to a class that could potentially be an advanced class were washed away when I realized any advanced moves instructions were accompanied by instructions for modifications. 100% recommend! This was a fantastic workout that was both challenging and meditative. All of the staff was helpful and welcoming. Oh and they start off their Om's with this little accordion type instrument (different than any studio I've been to, but everyone was on the same key so it sounded beautiful). ST Yoga is a great place for any level yogi and they offer a range of different classes along with some pop up events so you can really find your niche at this studio.

Fantastic Couples Massages…read more My wife and I only get massages from Rhonda and her great team. We don't remember exactly where, but we discovered Rhonda years ago and are thankful for that. She and her team have a nice, quiet shop on the 2nd floor above the Dierberg's at the Olive & 141... before going we never noticed there is a second floor above the Dierberg's, but there is a second floor with quite a few various offices up there. We tend to get couples massages, often on Saturday afternoons, but this time my wife picked Friday evening, which was a good motivator to get out of work. It's a great way to loosen up, physically, and to then enjoy some more time for a date afternoon or date night. The team knows how to keep things relaxed and calm. We recommend you visit and enjoy for yourself!

The girl who scheduled was pleasant, but not very knowledgeable about the service. I have some concern about this business.. she was featured on living social 2 or 3 times, and now I see on craigslist she is advertising for therapists.. makes me wonder about her level of standards as far as hiring processes go.. I made sure to make our appointments with the actual owner, Rhonda. I will update this review after our session and see how it goes.. I am VERY picky, and am a massage connoisseur. I will definitely give an honest review. But man, I hope it's good! Had our appointments.. and they were ok. The therapist was dressed WAY to casual to look professional (graphic t shirt and sweatpants? She is the OWNER. I know she does hard work for a living, but it was not a good look or good first impression.) I was kinda grossed out to see dirt on the floor and then spent my massage feeling dirty as she stepped off a stool onto the floor.. and then back on my skin.. I took a shower when I got home. The pressure was good, but the massage itself was average. Basic long strokes, felt like she was bored and uninterested. She rushed me out afterwards. No relaxation area here. However, My BF said his massage was good, and the place looked clean to him, so maybe I had her on a bad day? We may give this place one more chance.
