If you compare my old review to the current name on this page, you will see that things have…read morechanged and Brampton Crossfit is now Impact Fitness. I have countless great things from my experience when this gym was a Crossfit gym. I'd even tell others who live in other areas to consider Crossfit if they're looking for a new gym or a new approach to exercise. With that said, after several months at Crossfit, I realised that I was beginning to plateau. It's not to say that one can't continuously improve at a Crossfit gym, but if I'm honest, I like having things more or less programmed and prepared for me. Crossfit's workout of the day format offers that structure and is a great way to improve and then maintain fitness - but if you want get to the next level after a few months, you really need to consider doing a personal workout regimen, which many do at Crossfit gyms. The move to Impact Fitness is essentially a way of incorporating the things I loved about Crossfit, such as: group exercise, coaching, greater intensity workouts, heavier weights (if desired), a variety of exercises and other elements. In fact, many of the same exercises and equipment associated with Crossfit are still present. However, the class schedule now has more focus on determining goals, measuring progress and targeting specific areas. The daily schedule essentially operates in offering hour-long classes alternating between two types of workouts. One is 'strength', being weight training. The strength workouts in particular repeat throughout the month in order to continue working on the same area and work towards progressing. The other is 'conditioning', which is comparable to bootcamp styled high intensity interval training (HIIT). Beyond that, the workouts are also structured with either being mostly an upper body, or lower body work out. It allows you to plan your workouts and routine according to your goals, which can be done with the advice and help from the coaches. Effectively, Impact is a place where they have done most of the work in providing a workout plan and structure for members. It's really then just left to individuals to decide what their goals and preferences are, then plan their workout schedule and do the work accordingly. This is still with the benefit of a fun, supportive group atmosphere along with coaching. And hey, if you still want to do an even more personalized regimen, that's still available too.

We are both happy joining the program and working out with a group of gym buddies in, early morning. Paul and Christina are both fun to work with. I feel really less fatigued than before when I used to work out at home without anyone to point out where I am going wrong. It is highly recommended to join Impact Fitness to have a dedicated trainer for yourself and reach your fitness goals sooner.

It is just off Hwy 10 in Mississauga and close to the 401 and not far from the 403. The studio is clean and has a little sitting area in the front beside the reception desk. There is a shoe rack at the entrance to leave your shoes. They have many products (bolsters, straps, mats, oils, etc) for sale as well as a mini fridge with water, juice, coconut water and snacks for sale. I spent 20 hours here over a weekend for training and it was nice that Highland farms is across the street in case I needed to grab a meal on my break. There are small lockers in the washroom areas for men and women and there is a shower and 3 toilet stalls in the ladies area. Bring your own lock if you want to use a locker. Pritpal Singh, the owner and the lady doing our training, is friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable. I like that all the equipment (bolsters, blankets, eye pillows, straps) are in good condition and that they require you to use a tissue between you and the props for hygienic purposes.

She trains her students in yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, anatomy, and so much more in this program. She is also very sincere to her students. There were some subjects that were not required for the 200 hour certification but Pritpal though these lessons would be necessary to complete the training and make it wholesome for us. However, during our 200 hour course, we could not get though these subjects. To accommodate them and more importantly instead of skipping over them, Pritpal organized an additional 5 hour class and taught us these lessons with the same sincerity, vigor and passion as before. Probably more like 3.5 stars…read more I bought a Groupon for this place ($29 for 10 classes; they also have a one month option for unlimited for $39 and two months for $69). I think the $29 is the best deal unless you plan to attend more than 10 classes per month, which is kind of tough (but if you do - good on you, you're gonna be shredded). I didn't have much time to look at the gym, but from what I can see, this gym specializes in boot camps and personal training. I'm not sure if they provide access to their gym besides their classes. In terms of the equipment I saw, it was freeweights, suspension ropes, those yellow things that you do pull-ups/dips on, tires, punching bags and a couple of rowing machines. The classes themselves are fairly large (10-20 people) which I think is the perfect amount. It's small enough that they can pay some personal attention to you, while not totally focusing on you too. You go at your own pace, but I always to try to stay with the group to keep going. It's a good workout. Verdict: If you are looking for a gym where you can get a full body workout and can't afford personal training and need motivation to exercise, then this is the perfect environment. The trainers are friendly as are the members. However, if you are a person who doesn't need motivation, needs weight machines and cardio machines, then this probably isn't the place. However, if boot camps are your things, the atmosphere is great and very inviting.

The trainers modified the workouts for me as I was new and made sure my posture was right (which in many other places I have not seen)! They are extremely knowledgeable, supportive and fun to work with! As much as you want the results, they want it for you too. The best part about all of this is that you are a part of a family, all the members and trainers are very down to earth, everyone motivates one another and there is no intimidation from anyone. Everyone goes at their own pace and are cheerleaders to each other. I never liked the gym and I thought it was boring and that's why I always kept on quitting, now at the boot camp, I get restless if I don't go for a day or two!! I am 100% motivated thanks to Fitness Nation and the results are already showing! Love love LOVE Donovan, Marc, and Rogers!

This is a place where people are supposed to feel a sense of community and safe, especially…read morechildren. This location absolutely does not live up to those standards. My 13 year old daughter was using the gym there when a grown male began harassing her. Here are the facts to what happened and what the management's response was. I dropped my daughter off to do her work out at this location. Unfortunately, my wife and I were both in the middle of a project so was not able to stay with her but we were not worried as we felt that she was SAFE there. Near the end of her work out, she was approached by an adult male who asked her how long she was going to be. During her work out, she took a snap of herself to send to a friend as children do these days. She may have inadvertently got this male in the background. He became angry and asked her if she was taking pictures of him. When she tried to explain, he wasn't listening to her. He took his phone out and started recording her. It is unclear if it was at this point or later on when other members got involved the he called her fat and said she has a fat stomach. When he started recording her she Very Loudly told him Stop recording her and asked him WHY he was recording her. Her being loud is what drew the attention of the other members. 2 male members came to her aid as well as a female member. He became very belligerent towards the other member, tell them .... off. I was actually on the phone with my daughter at this point because she called me and I can hear this in the background. When I get there, she was already in the office with the female adult which aided her and some staff members. Shortly after I arrived, a Sergeant from Peel Region Police arrived to investigate. The Sergeant spoke with myself, the Female witness, at lease one of the male witnesses and the staff as well as the Adult male in question (once they were able to find him). No charges were able to be laid as there was not physical contact made. That is what we were told . I was told by the staff that there would be an incident noted on his file. That was not acceptable to me and I demanded that he be banned from the YMCA. I wanted him banned because not only did my daughter NOT feel safe and was afraid to go back because she might run into him again but I didn't want any other young people to possibly have a similar experience . They told me that only the program director or general manager would be able to do that. I sent the general manager an email that day (Saturday). Monday morning I called the center to speak with the Program Director who was not in. I left my information for him to call me back when he was to get in in the afternoon. After waiting and not getting any type contact by the management team, I called him back and was told that he was in a meeting. I was then informed that the General Manager would be dealing with this. I received an email later from her asking that we afford her some time to speak to her staff and investigate. I told her I appreciated her taking this matter seriously and told her about the 2 men and 1 lady who intervened on my 13 year old daughters behalf. I also told her that they spoke to her staff and that her staff on duty that day should have their information and that I would await her review. To recap the timeline, this incident happened on Saturday, I sent an email Saturday. Monday I had to contact the center instead of them contacting me. The General Manager asked me for a few day to review on Monday. Thursday afternoon just before 3pm, I had still not heard back from anyone so I sent another email to ask about the status. Just before 7pm she finally responded to me by tell me that she could call me "tomorrow" and to reply to her directly with a good time to call. I'm not sure as to why she had to say directly as my communication was directly to her unless she didn't want me to continue to tag the CEO of YMCA in the emails as well. She calls me the next day and tells me that my daughter won't have to worry about running into him "in the near future". I asked her what that means. I tell her that I assumed that means that he is suspended and not banned outright. She told me that she reviewed the footage and spoke with 2 witnesses and she said that they didn't hear anything prior to to my daughter very loudly saying "Why are you recording me? Stop recording me!" That is when they stepped in. She didn't speak to the lady as she deemed that she wouldn't have any information because she wasn't standing directly next to them. I pointed out the fact that that just because she wasn't STANDING right next to them doesn't mean that she didn't hear anything or wasn't observing from a distance. She then tells me that there are procedures that they have to follow. She tells me that in the footage, he wasn't any closer that 5 feet from her, like that is supposed to make any difference. Basically, they aren't going to do anything.

And they tried to shut me up to tell people what happened to me. So disgusting. never again. Please be aware that people steal your stuff at YMCA. Just imagine how disgusting it is that you are in the same room with thieves. Worst waste of money and headach instead of having fun. Also please be aware that some people's locker got cut in the change room. They do nothing to prevent that from happening. I would suggest to go someplace with better security measures.
