Indoor Running Track

I could only wish that my YMCA in NJ could even compare to this one! We have been long time members of the Y and; it has only just dawned on us that you can work out at other locations, including Canada! This is an easy location to find in Mississauga, there are two parking lots, which say by permit only, but is not enforced . Check in is took about 5 minutes, they took our information and off we went. This place is sprawling with a full sized basketball court, pool, spin studio, indoor running track and a full cardio lab and weight section. They also have a full class schedule. The gym is very clean and have sanitizing wipes stations all over the cardio/weight area. The staff there is very helpful and friendly and like my YMCA the patrons are of all ages, races and skill levels. I'm glad we have a gym away from home to work out at, sorry we didn't realize it sooner!

A little corner of fitness centre. Don't let picture deceive you, it was actually busy there.

I haven't been to the ymca in a long time but decided to check it out cause they were doing a promotional event. Free fitness classes and facility use for their open house, 1 day only to celebrate their new renovations. I wanted to check them out thoroughly cause I will need a new gym when my current membership at another place runs out. That and I needed to work off my food binging on the holidays. Lol. So, I came with a lot of motivation and ended up being there for 4 hours! :P 1hr: I started with weights and running. They have all the typical things I needed (treadmills, ellipticals, weights, exercise mats, etc) as well as a running track on the third floor. They even had "battle ropes" aka what I like to call ropes of pain! XD Staff and other gym members were nice enough to show me how to use it. It's fun for like about...5 seconds but then it gets real. Lol. 1hr: I moved onto a fitness bootcamp class. It was a good workout but the instructor never gave you any real breaks, more like water breaks and she transitioned into moves a bit too fast. She was a beast, and I think the one guy I saw there was even struggling after her routine. 2hrs: After wobbling out of that class, I headed over to the pool to cool off. The swimming pool and sauna is on lower level, you reach them by going through the change rooms. If you just wanted to free swim like I did, you were out of luck. Only 2 lanes in the middle were free. One for slow swimmers and another for fast swimmers. I don't think it very efficient though, 2 huge portions of the pool were reserved by classes. Left side had only 1 instructor and 2 girls in the deep end. While the right side, had a bigger group in the shallow end. I believe they should have just all moved into one section. Bigger group only stayed in the shallow end and the smaller group remain in the deep end. If you have young children, they have another room where they are suppose to go. It's walled off by glass and I think sound proof? Anyways, after my swim, I stayed in the sauna for a bit on and off. Very nice except people don't follow the posted rules and like leaving clothes/towels there to dry. If you decide to join or check out facilities, remember to bring a towel, flip flops, a lock and a hair dryer. They have those old school hand dryers attached to the wall, which you are suppose to use but I think bringing a dryer is better. They also have a shipmate machine, which I love cause it shakes out water in swimsuits. Overall, ymca is a pretty good facility and the member ship fee is reasonable if you consider you get pool access, fitness classes, basketball and martial arts lessons, etc.

* Newly renovated 2016. Lay-out feels bigger, more breathing space. * 5 laps around the circuit = 1km * I do cardio walks, machines and then I do classes. What I like about the Y is that I can jump-in and out of many classes to choose from. * I'm like a polar bear. stop during winter. Lol... I hibernate in the winter. Back to the gym in spring to fall. * This is the biggest gym I know in downtown Mississauga. It's right beside Celebration Square, the Mississauga Library and Mississauga City Hall. * Parking is often full. Park across YMCA private parking lot.

Was assaulted here and a minor with me was assaulted by a grown man…read more ill Try to sum this up to the best of my ability. long story short. I was here with a student, training him at the basketball court. some man In his 40s was getting very frustrated that we kept beating him. so he grabs my neck and starts to choke me. it took maybe 4-6 other grown men to get him to stop. he then tried to assault the minor. Mind you over a game of basketball. and when lifetime brought us in to mitigate the issue they were great with all these empty claimed promises. they promised to ban the other member if I did not press legal charges. i Still have 3-5 witnesses that were there that day. many of them are current active members still. but regardless the matter. lifetime told me they would ban the other member. so I was content with that as I was a daily guest at lifetime most times 2-3 times a day. the staff there all know me and my family. i can have at least 10 workers there vouch for me that I would go at least 2 times a day 5/6 am and 7/9 pm everyday. Regardless I noticed the member lifetime told me they banned, was in fact not banned. is lifetime that greedy that they ignore an assault case they had on video on a minor and a guest Just for some extra money ? I cancelled my membership immediately after finding this out. I contacted Devin yesterday through email and he might have been the worst assist in history of customer reps. Anyways that's my 2 cents and I strongly advise you to pick another gym than lifetime. I would rather pay 2/3x more instead of being around a gym that's just greedy and cash hungry, they don't even value their guests. my entire family was enrolled here before 2010 and we stayed active for over 13 years. absolutely insane way This company looks at their clients. I signed up again a few years…read morelater; they put the wrong sign up date (in the past), and also put my credit card number in wrong so I wasn't able to get into the gym for about 2 months. When they got the right card, they back charged it for the 2 months I hadn't been attending yet, including the incorrect sign up date!!! I heavily complained about this and they claimed to have fixed it, all for 2 years later when I'm about to begin to cancel my membership but want to use the credits I got when I signed up (about 5-10 worth of lagree classes - it was quite significant but I can't remember while typing this), they used up all of these credits when they "fixed" the 2 months from years before!!! They never got back to me about giving me the credits back, and to this day,(they kept charging my card for 2-3 months after I cancelled my membership), still have not paid me back. To this day a year ago they were charging me and I had already cancelled it and moved, but moved weeks before!!!!!!!!!!! The worst!!!!! If you see this One Health Clubs - I want my money back!

I can honestly say that it is the reason why I find myself at the gym 4-5 times per week most weeks. The coaches/trainers led by Daniel are supportive & knowledgeable. In there well mostly is okay unless you go into the washroom area again It smells bad. Tiles on floors and walls in the showers falling off, shower heads dirty not working properly. About sauna, I stopped using it. People are so stupid, they walk in there with all their clothes, socks even shoes. I saw one guy with a hat hoodie on his head and safety boots I mean how stupid is that? Not only that, they are so stupid they pouring water on the electrical parts to get a steam in there Because of that sauna it's constantly out of service There are two cleaning guys very nice guys and I know they trying their best. However they can't do much on their own Whoever is managing this location, well, take a look at some pictures, you decide. Recently was robbed too, my locker was open clean, all my cards gone, but he left the wallet and ID. Couple of days later I hear s guy talking that he was robbed just now 15 minutes ago while taking a shower So yes, they are watching you closely right away as you walk in and then keep eye on you at all time, probably two guys. About equipment most of it is okay. However those machines are not new. Now, when they are broken, they are out of service for weeks like they don't care to call someone to fix it, just put a note aut of service, that's all Now there are two Ropes for the whole Gym One of them looks like is 30 years old and when it breaks, they have no idea how dangerous that can be (picture below) I recently bought 4 of them and I brought it here so people can use it and not waiting for one forever. I guess that's all.
