Only down fall is the messy family changing room which is not the fault of the staff but the other families that are not courteous enough to clean up their mess. Was assaulted here and a minor with me was assaulted by a grown man. ill Try to sum this up to the best of my ability. long story short. I was here with a student, training him at the basketball court. some man In his 40s was getting very frustrated that we kept beating him. so he grabs my neck and starts to choke me. it took maybe 4-6 other grown men to get him to stop. he then tried to assault the minor. Mind you over a game of basketball. and when lifetime brought us in to mitigate the issue they were great with all these empty claimed promises. they promised to ban the other member if I did not press legal charges. i Still have 3-5 witnesses that were there that day. many of them are current active members still. but regardless the matter. lifetime told me they would ban the other member. so I was content with that as I was a daily guest at lifetime most times 2-3 times a day. the staff there all know me and my family. i can have at least 10 workers there vouch for me that I would go at least 2 times a day 5/6 am and 7/9 pm everyday. Regardless I noticed the member lifetime told me they banned, was in fact not banned. is lifetime that greedy that they ignore an assault case they had on video on a minor and a guest Just for some extra money ? I cancelled my membership immediately after finding this out. I contacted Devin yesterday through email and he might have been the worst assist in history of customer reps. Anyways that's my 2 cents and I strongly advise you to pick another gym than lifetime. I have been a member since the beginning, for 12 years and the overall service has plummeted. Everything seems to be a concern, from the cleanliness to class availability. Washrooms are disgusting and they provide towel service with stained towels. So many things - soccer field, basketball court etc need maintenance and it goes on with a blind eye. Any time there are reno's done, membership costs increase. They also cannot keep good fitness instructors. In the 12 years that I have been a member, upper management has never been worse. They have not had a group fitness lead in years, it's a revolving door. Instead of people like Erin (GM) listening and acting on feedback, they ask for their instructors to use relationships with members to provide 5-star feedback to misrepresent feedback. All of the positive reviews are so perfectly curated - call out specific names. They PAY them to ask for feedback!!! This place is falling apart. Stop paying people for good scores. I am shocked & disgusted at how filthy the gym has become. People workout throw towels & paper towels every where in the weight room. What's even worse is someone take a crap in the Aquafit pool often. I have complained many times but nothing seems to be done to address the ongoing problem. We pay such high membership fees & they can't seem to higher more staff by the pool to monitor the situation. How is it fair this happens on a weekly occurrence. Everyone then has to get out of the pool & they make us go into the cold pool. Not everyone can tolerate the cold pool because we have arthritis. I've been working out here since Saturday and my rating of Lifetime is still a 5/5. I usually try to avoid the busy times at the Y but there are plenty of equipment and machines to use during the busy times here. The gym is quite large so everyone is spread out so it never looks crowded. The staff at the front desk are friendly and will always greet you by name and wish you a good workout session. I spend about 30 mins in their awesome change rooms. It has been kept clean through out all my visits. The staff are always there cleaning and maintaining the change rooms. Lifetime also sent out an email to all their members telling them to cover up with a towel when using the sink/counters. This is a VERY good plus because no one wants to see naked people walking around. If you go to the Y you'll see plenty of people in their prime...sometimes right when you walk in. So what's in this fascinating change room you speak of? The granite countertops are supplied with q-tips, cotton balls, mouth wash, hairspray, deodorant, disposable razors, body lotion, and plenty of hair dryers. You don't even need to bring a towel when you shower because they have many here for you. I love this gym! There are a few things I wish were different like the monthly membership fee for example. But everything about it makes me keep Coming back. Most of the staff are super friendly and helpful. The facilities are always clean and well maintained which is more than I can say for any good life I ever was a member at. The cafe is guilt free, serving GMO free and mostly organic foods and smoothies/shakes for your post workout snack or protein. There are a wide range of classes and the equipment is top quality. It is a ways away and kind of in the middle of nowhere but hey I still make the drive. Doesn't hurt that there is a full salon and rock climbing wall there either. Some of the other amenities include. Indoor soccer turf, professional squash courts, hot yoga studio, dedicated Pilates studio, full size basketball courts, table tennis, sauna and child care for while you work out included in your membership fees. Don't forget that towel service is always free and the change rooms are stocked with all natural J.R Watkins products (shampoo,conditioner, body wash) deodorant, hair spray, professional hair dryers and even razor blades for shaving (and sharps disposal of course). After being a member for two years and consistently taking my three children. I've had my membership suspended for defending my 6 year old daughter who was abused and beaten up my a boy constantly. Being a mom of a 10,6,3 year old I've seen how the workers in the daycare handle situations hence why my daughter complained about being abused many times. Upon my frustration after having my daughter complain about the same boy hitting her in day care again, I had confirmed with the worker that the boy was present and in the day care at the time of the injury. Which was confirmed, after telling the daycare worker that the same boy keeps hurting my daughter and this isn't the first time she complained. My exact words were please speak to the child and the parents about him keeping his hands to himself. A week after this incident happens, I get a email from a GM Erin telling me I had been aggressive and threatening, and that we need to speak as soon as possible. Before engaging in any conversation I had spoken to a corporate manager explaining my situation he assured me, that he would speak to Erin. After whatever conversation he had with Erin, I am now being told my daughter was never abused and she checked every camera to make sure my daughter was never abused. I have a ten year old that's confirmed and told me numerous times that the same kid hits a lot of the children in the facility. Imagine telling a concerned parent that there child is lying and was never abused. Suspended for a month for asking a worker to rectify the abuse happening in their care. I've had my 1 year old in there care in previous years and had to remove my youngest because I would watch my daughter cry her eyes out while every worker walked by her and did nothing to reassure my daughter that I was coming back. I've never had any issue with any worker in that gym, I work out 4-5 times a week with my children and my children wouldn't lie about someone hitting them. What's even more despicable is I'm being denied entry into a gym for solely asking a worker to rectify the abuse. Any parent would be upset about a boy harming their daughter. How is it acceptable? I'm a healthcare worker, that relies on using the gym for a form of healing. To anyone reading the bad reviews please notice how every bad review has Erin mentioned. And I can say with my experience this person is not fit to run a gym when they have no form of empathy, especially to members paying for other multiple gym members. Many loyal members of 10+ years have left the gym solely based on the grounds that Erin has dealt with there situation irrationally. If she doesn't like you, she will fabricate another story to try and make you look like the villain. In reality I'm a single mom working full time taking my children to a gym I thought they were safe in, and the moment there safety was endangered I end up being suspended and penalized for standing up for my child who was non verbal for 5 years. Whether it is a privilege to be a member or not, it's not a privilege to have your child abused in your care. There are two sides to every story, and every story Erin seems to deal with always ends up being incorrect or fabricated in a way to make you look bad. Many members have left for this exact reason. 400 a month, and I've faced disrespect, false accusations, my children being abused. Tanya, my conduct has nothing to do with this as it took Erin over a week to say something about the incident, Erin is the kind of manager who is ruining your gyms reputation and uses her emotions and personal opinions on members to base her decision which is unfair. No parent would want to bring their children back to a facility that's going to have their children beaten. Read other previous reviews as many of them speak about her irrational decision making, and her lack of empathy. Every other negative review is solely based on her handling of situations, you have lost members that have been with your gym 10+ years. Change your management. I have been a member of Lifetime for the past 5 years and had nothing but good things to say about this gym. I did hear my other member friends complain about management sometimes here at Mississauga location but since I didn't have any interaction with them, I would care till recently this incident happened. I was attacked by another member of Lifetime Fitness due to a misunderstanding (he mistook me for someone else). I immediately called the police and the attacker got arrested and charged for these actions. Now the main issue comes in when a few days later when my father received a call from one of the managers at Lifetime who identified himself as Attir Satti. He was being very aggressive with my father on the phone and said that his son (Me) has caused problems at the gym due to which the gym has decided to ban me for 6 months. He also said that should I try to go to the gym, it will be considered trespassing and they will call the Police. My dad is a heart patient and got really anxious and called me right away as I was traveling for business. Two days later when I returned, My dad and I decided to come to the gym to meet with the General Manager (Abby) and have a chat with her. On request at the front desk, we were told we would meet with the GM but instead the same manager, Attir came to meet us and took us to his office. We explained our situation but he said there is absolutely nothing that can be done and on request to meet the GM, he said we are not allowed to meet her as she is too busy and there is no point speaking with anyone else there. Moreover, he also blamed me for being an equal part of this dispute and that I should also face the consequences. Despite being a victim already, I felt victimized again in this situation. He also mentioned that both I and the attacker are banned for 6 months that shocked me as well since The police have put a lifetime ban on the attacker for the sake of my safety. It clearly seems that this manager is either related and/or friends with the attacker and trying to take his side on the matter. Since then I have tried to resolve this matter privately by the GM Abbey Wyss have been unresponsive and her tone seems like she thinks I am the culprit. I escalated it to the District Manager, Tyler Ostrem who was responsive for the first couple of emails and since almost past one month have decided to not respond as well. I am truly disappointed at how Lifetime managers choose to treat their members, customers and truly believe that higher leadership at Lifetime should take note of this. Just the lifetime location in Mississauga alone has more than 30,000 members and I believe more people in our community should know the truth. I am thankful to an investigative journalist at CTV for being interested in my story and hope more people get to see how some of these big companies, unfortunately, take their valuable customers for granted. read more

The club hours were reduced dramatically (closes at 8 PM on Sundays) with no clear reasoning/rationale. Should this not be reflected in the price? Indoor pool is closed when the outdoor one is open. If you're having trouble staffing the gym, do you still charge members full price? You are no longer permitted to invite any guests 'due to COVID-19'. For a gym of this supposed caliber and price range, is this how you treat loyal clients? In the past it was premium fees for premium service. For a expensive gym, the showers always smell do bad! 3 of the showers in the men's room have bad water pressure. Classes members take over the gym and you have to wait for classes to end( can take up 45 mins) before sharing any of the equipment or weights used.. the staff are unfriendly and if you make a compliant they will gang up agnist you. This review is by a 10 year member with Lifetime Fitness. I wanted to write this review due to the frustrating situation i have experienced. My family and I have been loyal to this business for 10 years. We first joined in 2014, for a family pass. Only recently did they change their rule that only 2 people over the age of 26 are considered a family. We initially joined with my brother and my parents. Today, I had wanted to download the app on my phone and when we went to the front desk, a customer service representative by the name of Stephanie at the Mississauga location greeted us. She looked up our account and informed my mother and I that she will have to remove me from our family membership as now I am over the age of 26. I am now 27 years of age, i turned 27 in July. We were given no notice, and she claims they had made a mistake and should have removed me earlier. When we asked where it says this she began to give us attitude and raise her voice. For a luxury establishment this is incredibly inappropriate. After 10 minutes of waiting she went to grab a form and showed us that after covid their terms changed. My mother tried explaining to her that 2 years ago she upgraded the membership to allow me to continue under the family contract and was told by the representative at the time that 4 people (4 adults will be part of this membership). With so much attitude she said "well what she is saying isn't true". I was shocked I repeated what Stephanie said and I asked her are you saying my mother is a liar? She shrugged and said "well are you calling us liars?". Is this how you speak to your customers? This is supposedly a luxury establishment and they cannot afford to train them on proper customer service skills? This is coming from an individual that has a background in customer service for several years. It really does taint your business's image. From the rest of the reviews it seems that a lot of people are complaining about the same issue - rude customer services skills by their employees. Also, after 10 years if you want to remove me from the membership should you not appreciate the several years of loyalty and possibly give the customer a discount for their seniority with your company? Given no notice and expected to cough up $200 and set up a new membership by next Friday as December 1 is next Friday is quite ridiculous. Due to this interaction you have lost not only one loyal customer but a total of 4. Our family is no longer continuing with your business and I am also notifying the countless friends I have told to join too in the past years. if i could rate separately I would rate the club itself as 3 stars and people attending it as 2 stars. Summary: the LTA is really a more expensive version of goodlife and similar type of gyms, it is not a club. People attending it are not better (in many cases worse) behaving than in your regular community centre. For the price it is not worth it. Good about the club: - location for Mississauga is convenient, plenty of parking - facility overall is good, spacious, decent ventilation, temperature control - my wellness app has decent integration with equipment to track exercises - lockers, towels are included - good variety of equipment - OK programs (yoga, martial arts, pilates, Zumba) - safe - children pool is good - children drop off programs are convenient Bad about the club: - men's change room and showers are often dirty - pool has clogs of long dark hair all the time - occasionally run out of towels (not too often) - level of yoga/zumba teachers is near the bottom in GTA, your community centre might have better instructors. - family change room is too small and always has draft - good luck getting attention on the second floor (the main gym area) from staff unless you are 20yo female. - sales people are liars (will lie about discounts valid today only and then going up in a matter of hours immediately after, which can be proved wrong through their own website), but hey - what else is new? Though it's something that has spread around in the past few years you wouldn't expect it in an upscale facility like this.This becomes evident from the improper use of the locker room and showers. The personnel has to work really hard to keep up with the towels left over inside the cabin showers, outside the cabin showers, on the benches, on the floors. I've been going to lifetime for the past few months. Some of my family have been going here for a couple of years. Here's my take on this gym: 1. Facilities: Great. They have everything you could possibly want in a gym. Machines, a dedicated cardio section, pools, sauna, hot yoga and the list goes on. You could go here and try a range of different things. 2. Maintenance: They have cleaning personnel working round the clock. You can still find hair in the showers every single time. The TV on the treadmills/elliptical machines etc. always gets stuck. And I've taken pictures of the frozen screen on multiple occasions. 3. Staff: If you have a concern, they don't want to hear about it. They might pretend to be interested but they are not. Now if perhaps you were signing up for something or introducing someone new to their gym. Well, now their enthusiasm would know no boundaries. 4. Lifespa: Average. Their are better spas that use better products all around. And way cheaper too. 5. LT bucks: Now this is a scam. They give you a 100 LT bucks. You can't buy anymore. You can't transfer these. You can't use these at the cafe. You have to use atleast 50 of these towards the spa or all 100. You can't use 25 for example. All the denominations and services that these can be used towards are set by the gym. That's where they get you. 6. Lifecafe: Haven't tried it. Can't comment. 7. Trainers: Hit or miss. Depends on your luck. Most them seem to want to sign you up ASAP and then once you do, you are lucky if you get the time slot you want with them. 8. Promotions/Advertising: If you work out here you know what I'm talking about. They are always trying to get you to buy something or the other which is going to benefit you. One of the trainers asked me to get my thyroid levels checked and pay 200 dollars for that since its a "metabolic assessment". I have no symptoms whatsoever of thyroid dysfunction and if I did I would be going to my family doctor to get that assessed. If I go get my blood levels checked that would be covered by OHIP/Provincial healthcare. I can't believe how much money people waste at the gym for these unnecessary things. 9. Locker rooms: Decent. I've heard stories about people's stuff getting stolen but I'm pretty sure that's rare. Most of the people that come in are decent and courteous. Lifetime is truly a corporation. read more

Absolutely ridiculous place I went there for the first time to learn about the gym and about all the facilities they offered. The person that assisted us (the so-called orientation) was awfully unhelpful and failed to introduce all the different facilities offered by this colossal fitness center the thing that struck me most was that this particular facility does not allow you to even try out the gym before signing up. They expect you to spend a hefty $50 fee just to try out the gym for the first time! no thank you! if I'm going to sign up for something I want to have the opportunity to try it out before signing up and I believe the $50 fee is absolutely ridiculous and to charge customers this is shameful! I tried to explain to the lady who assisted us that we were not comfortable with the $50 fee and we're very interested customers who would like to try the gym but felt that it was wrong for them to charge the fee for the first time you come to the facility to view it. I was accompanied by 2 family members and we were all very disappointed at the way we were treated ... I felt the staff here at this gym is arrogant because even the receptionist and the manager on duty when I asked for her was not understanding and not considerate of the situation and just expected us each to pay $50. What if we didn't like the gym there was no refund offered anyway we laughed and decided to never come back and no I'm not interested in signing up to become part of a gym that doesn't even offer its customers the opportunity to try it out before signing up! I have been part of many fitness centers around the world, much grander and better equipped than Lifetime. I have been a memeber at Virgin Gyms in London, Fitness First, LA Fitness and Equinox...they all maintain a much higher standard of service and the staff there is classy. Awesome Gym, Love going there for teh cleanliness, the washrooms, the huge selection of different sports and activities offered. My two main issues though would be that there are simply too many kids during rush hours. The other concern I have is other activities like boxing, pilates, etc are priced at extremely high amounts. Im not sure what the point of being a member is if they are not going to accomodate for us a little considering I pay an arm and a leg to be there. Yoga is awesome, instructors are great. read more

I joined lifetime before they even opened. I was very excited to start my journey with them to become fit and healthy. The fees were a little high, but I was willing to pay it for a higher end facility. I was with them for almost 2 years and the monthly fees kept going up higher and higher... not to mention they try to get you with alot of other fees(like squash ladders). At the end of my membership, I had to make a choice. Keep the membership for me, my wife and 2 kids or quit and pay 2/3 less at the new LA Fitness and save myself $200 a month. I went to look at several gym facilities to see how they would fit into my goals. This place has a wide variety of gym equipment, several studios, a yoga room, 3 pools, a rock climbing wall, 7 squash courts, even an indoor soccer pool. There plenty of machines so I rarely have to wait for the equipment that I want to use. There is also a wide range of machines of which to use. They're also sorted by muscle group so you can go in and focus what you want to workout. The facilities are always kept clean and in working order, any damaged equipment is quickly repaired. While I have not used the daycare, spa, or salon, those are also available to those who want to use them. Staff here are always polite and friendly. The food here is prepared right away and the nutritional value is posted on the signs, so you have a relative idea of what you're ordering. The food itself is well seasoned and the portions are good. They have a wide variety of options so you won't be bored from eating the same thing over and over. They also have smoothies and other takeaway options. The cost of the gym is quite a bit, and considering there are only 3 of these such gyms around the entire GTA, it's not the most convenient of gyms. It really depends on what you value from a gym, but in order to have access to all the facilities here, you'd have a hard time finding another place. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place for those who seek a more diverse gym experience. read more

A friend brought me in as a guest to Life Time gym. We were there to attempt to kickstart our training for an ironman we are running in 2016 (it proved to be a success!). This gym is massive and luxurious. It has endless treadmills and cycling machines, roomy spin cycle room, a large pool with kiddie area, a separate pool with swim lanes, hot tubs, wet & dry sauna, salon/spa, restaurant for that post workout smoothie/meal, a daycare centre, squash courts, and even a rock climbing gym! They even had sparring mitts and those dummies where you can just mount them and start wailing away. #stressrelief Along with that there is just so many amenities such as free towels, hairdryers, lotions, hair gel, bath toiletries in the shower stalls, and a spinner to dry your swimsuit. You don't need to bring your own lock as each locker already has its own. Although the high price does reflect the total package they try to deliver, I think for those that want to have a one-stop shop for their fitness needs then it may well be worth it. Although I couldn't make this my everyday gym, they mentioned that they are in the process of exploring options of expanding to the downtown area (near harbourfront) and the Leaside area in the next few years. I am going to keep my eye and see if their future facilities can deliver what the Mississauga location has already established. read more

By far the biggest gym in the GTA. Recently joined, this place is massive (and expensive).They are open from 4am to midnight, and at all times it is busy. The benefit of a gym this large, is that no matter how packed it may be, there will always be a large amount of equipment available. The only thing that could improve it is keeping it open 24/7. Feels more like a resort than a gym, this is by fat the best gym in the GTA. read more

I have been a loyal member for 5 plus years. The last time I stepped into the gym was August 2017, I moved away in September and never got around to cancelling my membership. On the Morning of Nov 1st I finally got around to cancelling my membership. Had I come in the day before (Oct 31st) my last payment would have been the Nov 1st payment, but since I was 1 day late the club policy is to charge you for the entire month of Nov.... I asked the manager to be reasonable, considering I have paid monthly membership dues, 130 plus dollars per month for the last 5 plus years, I have spent thousands of dollars on PT sessions and have purchased hundreds of items at the Cafe. I have calculated over the past 5 years I have spent $30,000 plus on my membership alone. Count family members whom I also pay for, this number easily approaches 50k. You would think the club would show a degree of leniency given the situation. I would have joined this club again, as I hear they are opening a new location close to my new residence, and probably would have spent 50k plus over 5 years at the new location... but because of the managements little regard for a longstanding and loyal customer, now here I am writing a nasty Yelp review. This gym is dirty... Whenever I picked my baby up from daycare, her hands, feet and clothing was black, the staff doesn't make the kids or the parents take their shoes off before they enter the daycare center. The shoe rack is all the way at the back of the facility where they have their precious foam play structures that they don't want the kids to ruin, only there the staff makes sure that the kids take their shoes off. I've only attended the gym for a month and got a nasty fungal skin infection, which took me a month and tons of expensive medications to get rid off. Not only did they not acknowledge the sanitary issues they have or refund my money for the month that I had to spend home (I couldn't attend the gym because the fungal infection was highly contagious) they said that they'll charge me for the next month because I have to give 30 days notice. It is a great gym with a variety of different programs and nice swimming pools both indoor and outdoor. Idk lol i will admit I'm atleast 5x more irritable when getting it at the gym towards the end when you're pushing to end strong but you ever let someone have a machine just because you don't want to share and will wait until after they need it to come back? Well I almost always give the other person the machine, it's no big deal, lmao however this is the first location I have ever been ordered to re-rack my weights on the machine I wasn't even done with haha. This is diamond only club, lmao my $36/ month old gym has people that sole job is to walk around and rerack. Y'all need Jesus read more
