So, i am in the advertising industry. I called on Mountainview tree Service as a potential client. I was hoping to partner with these folks for tree service. In the estimates I was given from other tree services, it would be around 5,000 dollars. I was willing to pay. I was simply asking whom shall I speak to regarding placing ads/advertising. Not knowing what what business I had to offer they, they hung up on me. When I called back, they shot me to voicemail. That sense it looking more like a "weeping willow" than the maple it should and that it was so "young" that I can trim it myself for this year, by taking off 25% of the weeping part. This company did an excellent job. Knowledgeable, qualified arborists and the on-site work was top notch. Worth every penny. They did climbing work and lift work on a huge old oak tree in our inaccessible backyard overhanging the neighbors house. Everything was done quick, professionally and they left the place better than they found it. They did this work a few weeks before I posted this and the tree has responded well and looks very healthy. The Mountain View team of Johnny, Jesus, and Joshua removed a large alder that had actually branched into three good sized alders. They removed the central leader of another large alder because it had decayed. Finally they trimmed a couple of large fir trees, up to 50', of dead and dying limbs. Arrived on time and, upon figuring out the logistics of truck and chipper placement and limb removal strategy, got right to very focused work. Amazed how quickly they got done, especially given the "atmospheric river" that was dumping on them. They were careful, professional, and hard working. Last Friday, just two hours after I received notification of an impending delivery, a truck from Mountain View Tree Service rolled up my driveway! Marvin, the owner, and Phyllis in the office were delights to work with and adhered to the contract exactly as written. Several very large pieces of equipment had to be brought in so I felt the cost was very reasonable. The entire crew was very safety minded, polite, on time each day, worked through a rain and snow storm and even cleaned the area more than I expected. We watched Mountain View Tree Service remove a tree from our neighbor's home. We watched closely since the tree was overhanging our house, and removal was a delicate job to not further damage our neighbor's house or to damage ours. The did an amazing job. We were impressed. Unfortunately, five days later, we got to experience their work first hand when an 80ft Douglas Fir hit our house. I can only imagine how hard they worked between the two jobs as thousands of trees had fallen in the Portland area over that week. When we contacted them, the phone was answered outside business hours. Although they were swamped, they said they'd try and get to us so that our roof could be tarped before rain that was forecast for the next day. Amazingly, they came the same day that we called. They worked into the evening, in the dark, as they had done with our neighbors house. They worked in horrible conditions. It was really cold and the tree was covered in ice. All through it, they remained personable and good humored. Their estimate and billing was quick and easy, and they came back in a week or so to remove the tree debris - not bad considering I'm sure they were still primarily focused on pulling trees out of houses at that point. They saved our home from much more serious damage by responding so quickly, and their mastery of their craft was very evident. They also had some very cool equipment. My only regret is that they were not hired to remove the tree before it crashed into our home! read more

Boy, I've never seen a tree gone so fast! Mountain View Tree Service was prompt in their response for the need the removal of a 70+ ft tall curling willow tree that was dying and leaning. They came out within two weeks of calling me, setup quick, one man hopped in a bucket, another on the ground, and they went to work. They were done in under two hours I think. I wish I had gotten their names, they did the job so fast! And don't get my started on John and his cool remote controlled stump grinder! He came out two days later (when it was going to be a week minimum wait, but they made time) and obliterated that stump so fast, its like night and day now where the tree use to be. It was like watching a tank roll up and eat a tree stump in less then ten minutes. And both times they cleaned up everything to the point of where it didn't even look like an entire tree had just been torn to shreds. I had some very large snags in the trees above my property. These snags would have caused major damage to my home and possibly injuring someone who was in yard. They came out for a VERY reasonable price and got all these snags out. Johnny who was in the trees was amazing!! and made sure he got all the snags we were concerned about. Royal and Fernando on the ground crew were amazing as well. They made sure none of those large limbs hit our home and even the flower beds below. They did such an amazing job of cleaning up before they left, if you didn't look up into the trees, you would never know they were there. The two guys who came to do the work hustled and were polite. I tipped them on completion. It might have been better if I hadn't. First, they chipped up a pile of large branches from which I had plucked the thin branches because thin branches don't chip well. The chips from my branches, added to material already in their truck, they dumped in the backyard. But their previous load was not all chips. Far from it. There were lots of thin branches that remained long and, when mixed with the chips, made pitchforking the chips into a wheelbarrow frustratingly difficult. And worse than that, their "chips" contained hundreds of apples which I had to pull from the pile so they would not attract rats and voles. In the pile of chips were also trash and logs that they had not even tried to chip. It has taken me at least twice as long to distribute the chips as it should take. They should have told me they had crap in the truck and then not chipped my sorted branches on top of it. On the office end: I was told I would receive a call the day before the crew was to arrive and given a time of arrival. I was not called. I had to call them. They sounded disorganized. But worse than that, the day after the work was performed, the office called me DURING DINNER HOUR and asked for a favor. I was taken aback; a vendor was asking me for a favor! And what was that favor? They wanted me to email my friends recommending them. I thought, "you gotta be kidding" and hung up . . . and this was before I realized how difficult they had made the distribution of the chips. read more

Bravo! I obtained quotes from two services, and Mountain Views was more economical for better service. We took down a diseased cedar tree -- it was sad! The crew arrived on time and got to work so quickly my head spun. They were pleasant but focused, very professional and took that 30+ foot tree down in minutes. The brush was cleared and chipped, the trunk was cut into rounds for firewood, and the debris was removed from the lawn. Another crew came back later (some time later as it was hard for me to reschedule, but this was my availability issue, not theirs) and ground the stump. Again, fast, professional, friendly. This is a combination review of my experience and my spouse's experience with Mountainview. I had called around to few tree services in the area to drop a huge nuisance tree in my back yard. Mountainview wasn't my first choice, but it should have been. I originally scheduled Mike's Tree Service to do the job- big mistake! Not only was the communication and scheduling absolutely WEIRD with them, but on the day they came out he called me and stated that he didn't think he could do the job for the agreed on price! So, I called Mountainview, and they were professional, scheduled me in quickly, and arrived on time on the day they stated. From here, I'm going by what my wife told me as I wasn't home for the service. My wife stated that the two young men who did our job were super polite, professional, and had the tree down in a reasonable amount of time. The work I had done at my house was probably a very small job for their team, but they treated it like it was very important.
