This company did an excellent job. Knowledgeable, qualified arborists and the on-site work was top notch. Worth every penny. They did climbing work and lift work on a huge old oak tree in our inaccessible backyard overhanging the neighbors house. Everything was done quick, professionally and they left the place better than they found it. They did this work a few weeks before I posted this and the tree has responded well and looks very healthy. They also removed mistletoe which was an addition item we didn't expect, but was appreciated. They added life to the tree and made our yard better. Highly recommend. read more

The Mountain View team of Johnny, Jesus, and Joshua removed a large alder that had actually branched into three good sized alders. They removed the central leader of another large alder because it had decayed. Finally they trimmed a couple of large fir trees, up to 50', of dead and dying limbs. Arrived on time and, upon figuring out the logistics of truck and chipper placement and limb removal strategy, got right to very focused work. Amazed how quickly they got done, especially given the "atmospheric river" that was dumping on them. They were careful, professional, and hard working. Cleaned everything up before leaving, including blowing off the gravel driveway used for access. Very happy with their work. read more

We watched Mountain View Tree Service remove a tree from our neighbor's home. We watched closely since the tree was overhanging our house, and removal was a delicate job to not further damage our neighbor's house or to damage ours. The did an amazing job. We were impressed. Unfortunately, five days later, we got to experience their work first hand when an 80ft Douglas Fir hit our house. I can only imagine how hard they worked between the two jobs as thousands of trees had fallen in the Portland area over that week. When we contacted them, the phone was answered outside business hours. Although they were swamped, they said they'd try and get to us so that our roof could be tarped before rain that was forecast for the next day. Amazingly, they came the same day that we called. They worked into the evening, in the dark, as they had done with our neighbors house. They worked in horrible conditions. It was really cold and the tree was covered in ice. All through it, they remained personable and good humored. Their estimate and billing was quick and easy, and they came back in a week or so to remove the tree debris - not bad considering I'm sure they were still primarily focused on pulling trees out of houses at that point. They saved our home from much more serious damage by responding so quickly, and their mastery of their craft was very evident. They also had some very cool equipment. My only regret is that they were not hired to remove the tree before it crashed into our home! read more

Boy, I've never seen a tree gone so fast! Mountain View Tree Service was prompt in their response for the need the removal of a 70+ ft tall curling willow tree that was dying and leaning. They came out within two weeks of calling me, setup quick, one man hopped in a bucket, another on the ground, and they went to work. They were done in under two hours I think. I wish I had gotten their names, they did the job so fast! And don't get my started on John and his cool remote controlled stump grinder! He came out two days later (when it was going to be a week minimum wait, but they made time) and obliterated that stump so fast, its like night and day now where the tree use to be. It was like watching a tank roll up and eat a tree stump in less then ten minutes. And both times they cleaned up everything to the point of where it didn't even look like an entire tree had just been torn to shreds. I had a large Cedar in my yard that needed thinning and the canopy lifted. (I had limbs laying on my house, providing a super highway for bugs and the possibility for damage during bad weather.). Riga came to gather information for his quote. He as highly professional and patient about explaining the process. I received his quote within one day of his visit. On the day of service, the crew shows up on time, were polite,professional and listened to concerns I had. They performed their work in a timely manner, chipped up the branches and limbs and did a great job with clean up. I needed the branches on my cypress tree cut back away from the house. The arborist came out and examined the tree but warned me that cutting back the branches too far could endanger the health of the tree. We were able to work out a compromise and I appreciated the fact he took such an interest in my tree. They did a great job and cleaned up nicely. read more

Our tree has been sculpted, and they even figured out how to wrap its shape around those ugly cable wires that run along our street. We had Mountain View remove a dead tree in our yard and trim back a tree out front; both of which are behemoth trees in a residential neighborhood property (power lines, roadways, close house, etc.). The crews were incredibly friendly, thorough, and cleaned up where they could (stump grinding and saw dust being understandable vestiges of such work). Super reasonable prices, too. We had a tree in our front yard that needed to go; it's roots were under our driveway and side walk and were starting to create cracks. The scheduling for it's removal was not too far out, they showed up when they said they would. They were thorough in protecting our property before and while they were here, checking out the work site and the job before they came to do the actual work. We received conformation phone calls for the appts a day ahead of time and since the stump had to be ground at a separate time, that happened both times. The clean up of the residue was thorough, as well. We are very happy with Mountain View's work, have used them in the past, and will do so again when a need arises. Highly recommend! read more
