The carpets aren't just dirty--they'll turn your feet black if you walk on them barefoot and we had to keep our shoes on other than to get in bed. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, and the pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable. The pool towels will make you feel like a giant compared to their tiny size. There is a restaurant and market close which are convenient but not sure if that gives marks to the hotel. read more

We stayed here twice while travelling between Colorado and California over a week's time and were impressed. It's in a quiet town just off I-15 with an attached restaurant called Paco's. There is an inside pool in a separate building on the property, but we didn't visit it. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. All the staff we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that the AC/heater units are older (and very noisy). The attached restaurant had decent, mom and pop style food for unbelievable prices (full roast beef dinner for $12)! The market across the street had great prices too. We didn't have much time to explore Parowan, but did take the short drive from town to see the petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks in Parowan Gap. Very pleased with our stay here. read more

What a great find and at an affordable price. We were planning to stay in Cedar City but the town was very booked up for the night we needed. This little gem of a place popped up as an option and since we were snowboarding at Brianhead that day, it was actually much more convenient for us. Everything about this place was perfect, right down to the detail in the room. The only thing we skipped using was the pool/spa because it is indoor and the chlorine smell was quiet strong. We opted to enjoy the comfort of the room instead. Beds - Clean, perfect combination of firm/soft, nice bedding, and unique pillows with pictures of the local area printed on them. Room - Clean and surprising spacious with nice wood furniture and plants. Bathroom - Typical but clean and had the amenities we needed. Breakfast - Fun restaurant decor and food options were great. I loved the simplicity of the fruit yet it was presented nicely. Check-in/out - Easy and pleasant. For any future trips out this way, I will definitely be happy to stay here again. Oh, and the town is so cute. It was easy to walk to some nearby restaurants if you want although they have a Chinese Restaurant on site. read more

Its rare for me to do updates but this one was a must. After visiting last weekend and reading my last review, a few things had changed. Pros: -They made some colorful upgrades to the rooms since the last time I visited. -Their Chinese restaurant is still up and running for some last minute grub before 9pm. -Dine-in breakfast is currently being offered. -Heater worked great! Cons: -Water temp was constantly shifting during our showers. It was all fun and games listening to everyone scream until you're the one getting burned by scorching water. -Beds were definitely more stiff than I last remembered. It didnt help from all the shredding on the mountain either. -Stains were found on the pillow sheets but more importantly, they were comfortable. -Stains were also found on some of the towels as well. Overall, a great stay for the price. Keep up the great work! read more

This place is wonderful. We got a beautiful room with two queen beds for $70. This place has great vibes, the instant you walk in it's obvious that someone put real love and care into the decor and the service here. It's the size you'd expect from a $70 room but a lot better looking. Everything was clean, and the aesthetic was so much more interesting than most hotels. Definitely had the feel of a family owned business. The breakfast was also the same things that you'd expect; potatoes, sausage, eggs, fruit etc. But they were all very well prepared. I was amazed by how crispy the potatoes were. There's also a restaurant here, the Mountain Bistro. We didn't get to try it because it doesn't open until 11; but I hope to try it next time we're passing through. read more

So pleased in every way with the accommodations at Mountain View. From my initial phone call Sammy made it so easy to book our room & trust that we would be well taken care of. The rooms are very clean, warm & comfortable. The entire staff is so friendly & kind you feel you're right at home. They are so helpful & even allowed us to charge our electric vehicle which makes our stay so much easier, you can tell that the management really cares about their guests comfort. The complimentary breakfast is truly delicious-everyone is so satisfied heading out to the slopes after breakfast. We have also eaten dinner at Mountain View which is Chinese cuisine and could not have been happier with the dishes we ordered. Mountain view lodge has the sweetest owner. This place was small but clean and have complimentary breakfast from 6-9am. (sausage, potatoes, eggs, waffles, juice, coffee) also was only 20mins away from Brian head resort. and an hour away from Bryce canyon. for me I don't ask for much from a hotel. a clean place to sleep because I won't be in the room most of the time is good enough for me. and they have free food! win win for me (: for me as a traveler I rather spend my money on activities and food rather than the place i sleep in. everyone has different preferences of what's their priority in a trip. this is just mine. so if you are high maintenance then this place is not for you. Beautiful little town of Parowan with friendly helpful folks. The town is bedded down in the foothills of ski slopes and fishing holes nearby. So the Mountain View Lodge was a great choice for end of my driving day. Also a Chinese Bistro is part of the hotel as the Asian theme and design are part of their ambiance. I noticed they do use old wood to make the cabinet doors and tops of the chairs in the hotel room. Very cleaver and eco friendly. They had a plaque that describes where the wood came from that adds a nice touch with woodie but Asian flare. The hotel is clean and simple. They even offer rags for your taken as they are strong believes in recycling and found them on the bathroom counter in the room. Very nice room and clean with all the necessities such as body lotion, make-up remover pads, face wash soap, shampoo and cream rinse. Also small coffee pot, hair dryer, small fridge and microwave. I heard their breakfast is amazing with scrambled eggs, waffle, sausage links, toast, cereal, coffee which is a pretty good selection. I selected the waffle and scrambled eggs along with coffee. The room was cute and quaint. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Things were clean. My two main complaints were the shower head which was crappy and the water changed to freezing cold once to boiling hot 2-3 times during my 10 minute shower. The other thing is the advertised breakfast. As a family of 4 this was super important to us. After being on the road for a long time and eating a bunch of junk food snacks. Booking a hotel with breakfast is important to us. But when we got there they said they weren't doing it. So going out to eat adds another $30 to our tab that we were expecting to be part of our hotel price. Especially in the middle of nowhere there really wasn't a ton of other options. Point I'm making is follow through with what you advertise. Also nobody was there for check out. Front was all locked up and people were just leaving their room keys between the doors. No note was left. Just pretty unprofessional. Meh, would probably pass on this place next time. read more

We were driving from Southern California to eastern Utah to see family. We planned to stop for the night in St. George--no rooms available! Drove on to Cedar City--only one room for $400! We only needed a few hours of sleep! Decided to drive the loop through Parowan and found this perfect place! The gentlemen at the front desk was an angel! They also were full; however, it was after midnight and they had one room they kept available for emergencies. He accepted our plight as an emergency and we got our needed rest. Very clean room. Ken was the prior owner when it was called Days Inn. Ken Chafen had this property for two years before losing it in a foreclosure, which was foreseeable since the property fell into disarray and was in horrendous condition. It was barely operational. I'm originally from Parowan and it was sad to see this hotel in that condition. The hotel was taken over by new owners who have invested substantial funds in renovating this hotel and reopening the restaurant. Clearly, this is one of the best Chinese restaurant southern Utah. There's always a wait time of between 10-30 minute to be seated. Food is always great and portions are impressively large. I usually order the Kung Pao Chicken and I like it spicy. I come here once a month while I've visiting. Rooms are renovated and quite modern. Glad to see this hotel reopened and operational. read more

What a great inn. My husband and I are taking our kids to Yellowstone and needed a place stay for the night. We booked this inn a few months in advance and didn't no what to expect when we got here. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and spacious. All the amenities were in working order and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. I am a stickler about hotels/inns and their mini fridges and this one worked really well. I was able to re-freeze my ice packs for the kids lunchboxes! It's the little things. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The inn itself the details were just brilliant. I loved the decor. It not only flowed well throughout the office/restaurant but was replicated in the rooms as well. We were too tired to eat dinner at the restaurant (which is unfortunate because the star rating is impressive), however, we were able to eat the complimentary breakfast. It's a small selection, but definitely delicious. You have a choice of sausage, eggs, potatoes (excellent), waffle (crispy) and (white) toast and cereal. They also have fresh fruit. Today was banana and oranges (very good, nice and cold). Drinks consist of milk, apple/orange juice and coffee. The only negative I can think of is that there isn't an ice machine or vending machine. My children were really thirsty and I couldn't provide them with anything to drink. The market directly across the street closes at 8:00. So make sure you stop before you settle in. Overall I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area. We would definitely stay again. read more

We tried this hotel for the first time. Price were very reasonable ($74 ). The front desk was super nice and helpful. We did check in in few minutes and went directly to our room. Room was clean and the room was definitely nicer than expected. They have a chinese restaurant in house and the food was great as well. My family and I found this place on a whim while traveling cross country. The place is beautiful and was remodeled well. We arrived late and worried on where to eat. Stayed here with my boyfriend to go skiing in brian head the next day. I was not expecting much for a 2 star hotel, but it actually turned out to be quite nice. We were received with great hospitality, the rooms were clean, beds comfy, showers had good water pressure, and there was a nice Chinese restaurant inside the hotel as well. We slept comfortably without any disturbances. I'm a light sleeper and wake up easily if it's too noisy from outside street noise or adjacent neighbors but we did not experience this here. The restaurant offers excellent lunch and dinner options. Some of the best Chinese food we have ever eaten and we have traveled extensively and eaten at many Chinese establishments. We were bragging to the owner and he told us that there are 3 cooks all from different parts of China that fuse their unique cooking methods together, everything is made fresh when you order. They have renovated this hotel and a few areas are still a work in progress, but you don't have to worry about that affecting your stay. My family and I just stayed at the Mountain View Lodge and enjoyed our stay. We spent four nights and had a wonderful experience with the staff, cleanliness and hospitality of the town. The room was clean, beds were roomy, shower was hot, towels were always fresh, and the Mountain Bistro had delicious Chinese food. We left but forgot my son's special pillow. I called the lodge and they mailed it to me, no charge. Wow!!! We will be back and staying again. The lodge is a short drive to Brian Head (use four wheel drive or chains and drive slow) and Cedar City. The price of the room for a family of five was perfect. read more
