Also there is a Brianhead Resort just a few minutes away where they have an annual adventure pass for kids with trampolines that they can strap and do flips, zip lining, outdoors sledding/slides all day! At over 10,000 feet, it's an ideal place to acclimatize before tackling bigger objectives. The cool alpine air is a welcome escape from lower elevations. The trails were quiet, scenery genuinely wild, and it never had an overly resort atmosphere. If you crave luxury shopping or après stretching to midnight, this isn't your place. But if you appreciate high-altitude landscapes without the crowds, Brian Head is a hidden gem well worth the detour.

John NEVER had this issue...and I've been coming here since 2011...... Food? Don't get me started on the cafeteria food they serve now... The prior owner, John Grisainger at least had GOOD food, quality food being served. Not this cut rate, previously frozen, cafeteria food that's now "available" here. This place is sad, and I doubt John thought this company would turn this place into what it is now. Who in their right mind thought downgrading everything but upping the costfor everything was a good idea..... Oh, I know.... A corporation that DOESN'T care about its customers, that's who.. Do better. You're capable of it.

At roughly 10,000 feet, it's an ideal place to adjust to higher elevation. Personally, a long stay here noticeably reduces the effects of altitude, improves my breathing, and translates into about a 30% faster pace for me above 10,000'. Sleeping at 10,000 feet versus somewhere closer to 8,000' isn't a subtle difference, at least in my experience, it's significant. The accommodations felt much more like a compact suite than a typical hotel room, which made the stay especially comfortable. Brian Head, or Cloud Head as we renamed it in conversation (I understand locales with last names, but am not necessarily a fan of those centered around first names) isn't trying to compete with places like Vail or Aspen, and frankly, that's refreshing. It's understated rather than overdeveloped, with a level of peace and quiet that's becoming increasingly rare in mountain towns during summer. Nearby Cedar Breaks is genuinely spectacular and, in my opinion, every bit as beautiful as better-known prime destinations of the West, just without the crowds or self-importance. I'm used to spending extended time above 8,000', so I really appreciated averaging closer to 10,000' throughout my stay. That extra elevation makes a meaningful difference for acclimatization. If you're coming straight from sea level though, expect your body to need time to adjust. The first week or two can be an adjustment, even if you're otherwise fit. As others have noted, this probably isn't the destination for anyone who's uneasy with steep mountain roads, dramatic elevation changes, or a high density of deer casually appearing alongside the roadway. That's simply part of being in the mountains. I've seen complaints about the lack of air conditioning, but honestly, that feels like people applying city expectations to a high-alpine environment. At this elevation, it simply isn't necessary. Crack a window, let the mountain air in, and by nightfall temperatures are usually in the 40s, making for some of the best sleeping weather imaginable. Nearly every staff member I interacted with was friendly, capable, and professional. My only minor criticism is that one younger employee didn't set clear expectations, which created some unnecessary confusion and additional follow-up. It wasn't a major issue, but it stood out because everything else was handled well. Overall, this is an excellent choice if you're looking for a peaceful mountain escape or high-elevation base for hiking, peak-bagging, or spending time outdoors. It attracts people who appreciate the setting for what it is rather than expecting a resort experience, and I would absolutely stay here again.

The road to the hotel is picturesque but can be harrowing, especially at night when there are no lights and deer and antelope (I saw both on the way up) are plentiful. I had emailed the hotel a week before the stay to make sure that our visit--complete with 16' moving truck would not be an issue, but I never received a response. We arrived late but front desk staff was very friendly and got us to our room relatively quickly. The room was spacious but the thermostat was very finicky, resulting in a fitful night of sleep due to the temperature. There are some updates to the room that could be made as it is starting to show its age. A major reason for selecting this hotel during our cross-country move was the spa options, but there the facility fell quite short of the mark. The large hot tub was empty and roped off, the small hot tub was cold, the dry sauna was not operational, and the wet sauna was underwhelming. Staff was notified but it takes quite a bit of time to heat up a hot tub and thus we had to move on to our final destination without the benefits of the hot tub. The gym is incredibly small for a hotel of this size and price point as well. Coffee in the lobby was appreciated and the library/game room is a nice touch as well.

We were there for three days -- by day three, I seriously considered just eating the plastic cutlery instead. Front desk staff? They weren't rude, but let's just say they met the minimum requirements of employment. If there was an Olympic event for "professional neutrality," these folks would medal. Also worth noting: there's a little decorative bell in the courtyard -- which small children somehow sense from miles away. If you're planning on an afternoon nap, forget it. That bell gets rung like it's the final round of a prize fight. Repeatedly. With joy. By children. Every. Single. Day. The attached restaurant had decent, mom and pop style food for unbelievable prices (full roast beef dinner for $12)! The market across the street had great prices too. We didn't have much time to explore Parowan, but did take the short drive from town to see the petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks in Parowan Gap. Very pleased with our stay here.

We booked originally for two nights but enjoyed it so much we ended up extending our stay. The hotel is easy to find, although it is currently undergoing exterior remodeling but that doesn't effect anything at all. The room itself was clean and well kept. The tv has live channels available as well as Netflix. the rooms have a microwave a fridge and a coffee maker as well as an iron The list of amenities is pretty awesome a heated pool and spa (8am-11pm) a laundry room (8am-10pm free breakfast (6-10am) free wifi excersise room (6-11pm) we payed a pretty good price for three nights we had two adults and a room with two queen beds and payed around 450 and that includes 30$ deposit that is returned to you after your stay What I also really like about this place is that they don't automatically have a maid come and service your room instead you request it. I personally love this option. Overall I recommend staying here as its also in a good area. 1hr from Zion national park and a quick 10 minutes to the downtown area. The new flooring, walls, furniture, and restroom fixtures. One thing I do recommend is that they add better ventilation fans in the restrooms that suck the air out quicker and more efficiently. The beds were comfortable and offered very nice bedding. Although I did not need the use of the AC, it did work very well. A big plus about staying at this hotel is the breakfast they offer for free throughout your stay during the morning hours. I hit it up every morning, regardless if I was intending to have breakfast later that day. The breakfast includes biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon strips, sausage links, make your own waffle machine, breakfast potatoes, cereals, oatmeal, and much more, not to mention coffee and teas. There's inside and outside seating available. The hotel offers an inside pool, it's a non-smoking facility, offers a laundry facility, and an exercise room. The renovations will include a new lobby and restaurant and bar. I would stay here again, not only because the prices were very fair and it was a good stay.

A friend recommended the Lodge at Duck Creek, so we made reservations on-line and came up the mountain from Southern California. It was well worth the trip. 14" of snow fell our first day ! Exactly what we were hoping for. The accommodations far surpassed our expectations: spacious, clean and comfortable. There was enough room for my family to spread out and relax. Every room was so clean, it felt as if we were the first to visit. The kitchen had everything from new appliances to all the utensils needed to prepare and enjoy a meal. The view of the meadow from the great room was just like a Christmas card ! During the day we were able to rent a snowmobile complete with a guide who showed us around the Duck Creek Village area. What a blast. During the evening, I was able to enjoy Directv on a big screen TV while my teenagers especially enjoyed the WIFI. Mike and Christine are friendly and nice, excellent hosts and neighbors during our stay. We are looking forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy another season at the Lodge.
