Paul showed up and was extremely friendly and helpful. He didn't hesitate to grab my rake and fix some things I didn't even know I was doing wrong. He sprayed the whole thing quickly and with a great attitude. He gave me tons of info and a nicely written instruction sheet. I followed the instructions perfectly the next few weeks and the grass was growing like crazy! VERY thick, green, nice grass. There were a few spots that needed some touchup. I emailed Terry, got a response quickly, and they were out the next day. Paul, once again, was incredible. He sprayed the spots again, making sure to ask me if I was happy or noticed anything he missed. While the actual work they performed was done well, the business side of the experience was very disappointing and stressful. If you are planning to use this company for an insurance claim, make sure you fully understand the payment expectations upfront and have cash available before agreeing to any work. In my case, I never received a clear price before the work was completed. After the fact, I was presented with an invoice totaling over $12,000. I later had another company provide a quote for the same work, and their estimate was only $5,200 -- a huge difference. The most frustrating part has been the payment process with insurance. My insurance company sent payment directly to R&A Tree Service, but the amount was about $500 less than the invoice they submitted. Instead of working cooperatively through the insurance process, they immediately began discussing liens, interest charges, and additional pressure tactics while still requesting breakdowns and documentation from the insurance company. "I need this resolved immediately so we can avoid further escalation, additional costs, and continued lien enforcement proceedings." Again, the workmanship itself was good, but I strongly recommend getting 2-3 bids before signing anything and making sure pricing is agreed to in writing beforehand. If your project involves an insurance claim, proceed carefully and make sure you understand exactly how payment timing and billing disputes will be handled.

I needed my entire yard done: cutting down bushes and trees, limbing trees, edging all sidewalks and walkways, debris cleanup, getting rid of the moss, shaping the bushes that were staying, pre-emergence and post-emergence spraying, defining flower beds, spreading 10 yards of bark, hauling away a huge pile of brush from a year ago, etc. It was a LOT of work. We walked the property and he listened to my ideas and offered suggestions that made sense. He got back to me with an estimate that I was really pleased with and worked within my schedule. A few days before everything was to be completed, Van came back and we walked the property again checking on the work already done and yet to be complete. He wanted to make sure I was pleased and happy with what his team had accomplished - and I was. When they quote you a price for a job they stick with it! They came to our rescue when we had a sprinkler burst and we couldn't find a shut off valve losing water all over! They came and fixed the problem, then we ended up hiring them to redo all old outdated sprinkler heads and they also put a new zone and new lines that we needed coverage for, besides that we had them prune all our trees around our house!
