Mike and his team did an amazing job taking down several 150ft fir trees and a giant (100+ foot) silver maple out of our back yard. This was a large job- some companies that came out to give me quotes didn't want to tackle the maple due to the vicinity of our house and a septic drain field that was right under the tree. Found You Connor or I guess it's Mike now! This guy "Mike" is also known as Connor Michael Hancock, formerly owner of Big Timber Tree Service. We hired him to do an extensive tree removal of over 30 trees. He did not complete the contract and left trees spewed around the lot, not cutting them down to fireplace size rounds as he did at the start and was contracted to do. We called him and he always had some reason why he couldn't come until he finally just stopped answering! Now that I have found this guy, you can look for the complaint on the BBB and also see that he has done this in the past, which is typically why they open under a new name! He will sell you a song and dance but good luck on getting him to follow through or complete the job. Mike and his crew an exceptional tree service. They are also respectful. I found White River by watching them remove some 200' + trees from my neighbors yard. They do whatever it takes to remove damaged or dead trees whether it involves hiring a crane or climbing to an incredible height. Mike trimmed 3 extremely large, extremely overgrown, damaged evergreens, that were invading my specimen Japanese maples and dogwood. Mike patiently listened while I specified each limb that I wanted removed, or cut back. He carefully removed each one, a section at a time so as not to harm my trees or surrounding landscape. His crew removed all of the branches and ground them up. The area was then cleaned. Very impressive. read more

This company was wonderful! We had 2 big cedar trees and 3 large, overgrown maples cut down. And we had them grind the stumps. I was amazed (really) at the end result! They took every last branch and leaf with them. They cleaned up SO WELL!! If our lawn wasn't so ugly I would have thought landscapers came in. They filled all the holes and took most of the stump debris with them. We couldn't be there the entire time. So my son and I didn't see them come down....but Kristy actually took pictures and 2 videos and sent them to us. They are a small family run business and they really seem to care. Those 2 cedars were maybe 15-20 feet from the house. One reason I chose them is because they're insured, licensed and bonded. But they were very careful not to let tree pieces hit the house. The cost was definitely fair....more than fair as they did an amazing job all the way around!! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone....and, I already have! read more

Amazingly honest! We have a very large & very old weeping silver birch in our back yard. I love this tree! Recently we're told it's very old so should look into if it's going to become an issue anytime soon. He was surprised I'd want to cut it down. I really didn't but since I know nothing about its care, I had to look into it. I gave him ample opportunity to pad a cost. He explained how trees shed, it's natural. All branches were healthy. I was a bit giddy. I asked if we could hire him to prune it & again he said we didn't need it. He said he'd be taking our $ for nothing. The big cedar next to it, he explained how we could thin it out in a few areas. All things he told us we can do ourselves & not waste $. We talked about it possibly getting rid of a evil holy tree in front yard. He explained what he'd do but also explained how we could do it ourselves. I felt like I was begging to find work for him to earn $ for at least the trip to our place. No. He explained how he'd rather be honest with everyone & not rip us off for unnecessary work. Here's the deal. He did not do one lick of work besides driving here & educating me. He took time with me and that's what sold me on this company. My hubs had asked another company to come out to look at it & they had said they wanted to cut it down for $4k. Yikes! No mention of it being healthy or how to nurture it. Their scheduling & communication was very responsive. So, even tho he didn't have to do any work for us, when we do need it. I now know who to contact. They climbed this one, limbed most of it but didn't take it down because they were worried about how close it was to power lines, the neighbors house and our fence. My neighbor used Mike twice, and both times his quote was significantly lower than 5 other estimates. Last year, he showed up during a terrible freezing winter storm on short notice to cut tree limbs at risk of crashing into the house. This time we and our neighbor had 4 trees significantly trimmed to cut off dying branches or turned into wildlife habitat snags. His quotes are very reasonable compared to 6 other estimates, and most importantly, he and his crew are conscientious, do a great job of avoiding damaging structures and plants, and surprisingly neatly piled the branches and cut up and piled huge logs for us to use for our fireplace.
