JAKE NEEDS PEOPLE TRAINING!!!…read more I would like to start with the type of energy I normally have been met with here mediocre at best and subpar customer service at this Petco location in CdA. Not enough to say yes they are an awesome team and store but not enough to remark and say it is horrible. Overall, without getting into all of the details I simply would like to mention that JAKE an employee of this establishment acquires re-training. He permeates an in-subordinate attitude and doesn't take any appreciation for working with his other team members. He was very obviously irritated that he was asked to service a customer (I guess he forgot that he was at work) and decided to exhibit his pugnacious mental state on me. I was kind and remained that way despite Jake smugly getting a kick out of being an arse. It wasn't until I decided to stop smiling and remained silent that he mumbled thanks and have a good day. It was a poor experience alas probably not enough for me to stop going there BUT I CERTAINLY WILL BE AVOIDING JAKE NOT FROM STATE FARM

There I was one cold night, minding my own business running errands when I saw a small dog trotting…read morealong in the middle of the road. I instinctively created an improvised road block with my car to protect the dog (and me, as I rushed out to grab it) as I parked and ran out to scoop up the little dog. I brought the dog into my car and it was super sweet and had no identification. I just realized I signed up for quite a bit of responsibility. I now have to take care of this dog and try and find it's owner. I then went to the local pet store and got the dog a bed and some supplies. I began submitting information to local Petfinder sites and the humane society. I called the humane society the next morning and they told me no one has reported a dog matching my new friends description. However, a few hours later, they reached out to me and told me that the pooches potential owner reported it missing. They put me in contact with the owner and it did indeed sound like I found the owner. I met up with the owner and donated to him most of the supplies I had purchased. They were super grateful and told me a little about the dog and how grateful they were to be reunited. I'm very grateful the Kootenai Humane Society got back to me so quickly and was able to help me reunite that dog I found with its owner. So kudos to them for their prompt efficiency. Appreciate their help and attentiveness.

We were all set when some old woman comes in and says we will not be adopting from HER facility because we have a doggie door. It didn't matter that it was to the garage and not in use anyway, she canceled the adoptions. Her priority isn't what is best for the animals or families it's her control issues. She said it was her facility. Needless to say we will not be adopting any animals or using their services again.

You cannot beat that! I never work longer than that at once so I'm glad when I have to leave for a few hours he's happy! We adore the two pups that we now have in our family and words cannot express the depth of appreciation we have for their kindness, generosity, and drive to help us succeed. They know their stuff. We have learned so much and appreciate their honest approach in "training us" to uphold the training our pups are receiving because training an animal is not like sending it off to school and hoping for the best, it's a team approach with the whole family involved. I have no doubts we'll have the best dogs (we already get so many compliments, and I'm convinced an entire store has now fallen in love with our pups from their daily walks).

Every time I drop off or pick up there are happy dogs playing in the many yards. All of their staff are professional, friendly and helpful. They are true animal lovers. My 4 yr. old Queensland heeler is constant Chaos. I needed help learning how to train and work with him. I didn't want to use a shock collar, as MANY trainers go straight to, I wanted to try everything else 1st. Training isn't cheap but it's worth every penny to see the progress with your dog. I worked with Alicia; she is FABULOUS! She requested guidance from Nick when needed. We worked at the facility and out in town. He has come so far; we can even bring him out to restaurants with patio dining! He goes to doggy day care for socialization, and he has stayed overnight. This is an AMAZING service that I Highly recommend.

I am writing this review to document my personal experience so other pet owners can make an…read moreinformed decision. My dog, Koa, was boarded at this facility on two occasions: July 3-5 and July 10-14. I cannot determine during which stay he became ill. When I picked him up on July 14, he was noticeably lethargic and not acting like himself. Later that evening, his condition declined rapidly. He became disoriented, was unable to stand to go outside, and his temperature measured 106°F. He was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic and admitted immediately. Over the next several days, Koa's condition was described as critical. His white blood cell count was dangerously low, he continued to spike high fevers despite continuous fluids and cooling measures, and he required round-the-clock hospitalization. Multiple veterinary teams repeatedly prepared me for the possibility that he might not survive. I was told more than once that his prognosis was very guarded and that we needed to be prepared for the worst. He underwent extensive diagnostic testing, including imaging and a bone marrow biopsy, and ultimately required transfer to Washington State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital for ICU-level and internal medicine care. He remained hospitalized for nearly a week. The drive to WSU was approximately an hour and a half each way, and I traveled whenever possible just to see him during limited visiting hours, not knowing if each visit might be my last. Despite exhaustive testing, no definitive source of illness was identified. Koa ultimately survived due to aggressive medical intervention, including prolonged steroid therapy and the advanced care provided by the critical care and internal medicine teams at Washington State University. His total medical expenses exceeded $12,000. The owner of the boarding facility was contacted on the morning of July 15 by my boyfriend to inform her of the situation and to ask whether any other dogs had been ill during that timeframe, as this information could have assisted with veterinary diagnostics. Although I am the legal owner of the dog and the individual listed on all veterinary and boarding paperwork, the facility owner never contacted me directly by phone or email. I would have expected direct communication with the registered owner during a medical emergency of this severity. To this day, she has never reached out to me personally. Koa survived, but his recovery was long and difficult. He required months of steroid therapy with significant side effects, including excessive thirst, increased urination, and loss of bladder control--none of which he had experienced previously. Initial attempts to taper him off steroids resulted in serious complications requiring further medical intervention. He ultimately required additional long-term medication and ongoing veterinary monitoring. The emotional distress of nearly losing a family member after trusting a facility to care for him is something I would not wish on anyone. Beyond the medical crisis itself, the lack of direct communication with me as the registered owner was particularly difficult. I am not making claims of legal fault or causation. I am sharing my experience. Pets are family, and facilities entrusted with their care carry a significant responsibility. I strongly encourage anyone considering boarding here to ask detailed questions about illness monitoring, emergency response procedures, and communication expectations. I sincerely hope others take the time to think carefully before entrusting their animals to this boarding facility.
