I highly recommend Mountain Mongrels when you need dog daycare or boarding. We have been sending our lab, Taylor, since he was a puppy in 2019. Taylor typically goes to the Granby location and he always loves his stay. Both locations are very clean and do not smell like a typical dog kennel. I would give this place 10 stars if I could ! We were visiting Grand Lake for the week and had our two Golden Retrievers in tow. They have a fetish for chew antlers that are very hard to find in the Denver area. I usually have to resort to ordering them online. We stopped into the store to inquire if they had them available. They didn't have them in the store but could get them for us and could have them by the next day. They took down our number and called us when we they were ready. They were handcut for us and perfect. The owners were fantastic to talk with and very knowledgable. You don't get that type of customer service everyday! I can't wait to make a trip back to Grand Lake and visit my favorite pet store !! read more

Mountain Mongrels in Granby Colorado is an excellent place for doggy daycare or overnight boarding. We used them 4 times on our trip. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had no worries during our outings and our slow to warm up nervous pup loved it. It is just outside of town and very easy to get to. You can tell by how all the dogs were acting that they all felt at home! Definitely recommend and will use for our next trip. read more

Wasn't aware this existed, right inside the way into town which is perfect for us out of Towners. I was wanting to go to Hot Sulphur Springs and leave the pup in his kennel in the lodge, but would only want to go for an hour cuz I'd feel bad for him. But with this place, got to enjoy the Springs for over 4 hours and it was only $25 for him to play with other dogs (which he loves) drink lots of water cuz being at this elevation does that to us, and enjoy dog treats... The owner and her brother are young and wonderful with every pup that comes in, you can see it in their interaction, HIGHLY recommend this place, and such a wonderful shop to get cool and interesting things for my canine kid, too... read more

Huge thanks to Mountain Mongrels for boarding our dog for part of the time we were in Winter Park - we had a place that only allowed one dog and we wanted to accommodate my niece and her rescue dog who came for part of our stay. EXCELLENT pet boarding! We left our little doggie at the Granby location while at the C Lazy U Ranch and couldn't have been happier (both us and the dog!). They were very accommodating, working with our timing since we were driving in from a long distance. Took great care of our dog Eva and even sent us a picture of her happy and snuggling. She was in a good mood when we picked her up and weren't sure she would come with us :). I highly recommend this place for boarding and would definitely use it again. Thank you so much! read more

Best Doggie Daycare Ever! I have two dogs who love going to Mountain Mongrels. My older dog has always hated going to doggie daycare so we stopped forcing her but she loves this place and walks right in. She definitely prefers hanging with humans but she is a good sport and plays with a few dogs she deems acceptable (ha!). Our second dog loves everything where he has other dogs to play with. We have not tried boarding them yet but we will this spring. They do fill up quickly so make your reservations at the same time you book your hotel. read more

Mountain Mongrels is one of the best pet shops ever. There is a great selection of everything dog and cat. The owner is very nice and I could tell that she loves animals. Daisy got first class treatment and lots of biscuits. Later in the week Daisy stayed here for a 1/2 day of boarding so I could take a boat tour on the lake. She loved it. Daisy will be back to Mountain Mongrels the next time we are in Grand Lake for more VIP treatment. read more

I can't say enough great things about Mountain Mongrels! I have a very timid rescue dog that I recently boarded with them. They treated her like family. I sent a text everyday to see how she was doing and they responded to me right away! I know she was well taken care of and enjoyed her time staying there...I was a little worried she wouldn't want to come home! This place is AWESOME! First, Mountain Mongrels has an unbelievable selection of dog food, treats and toys. For us their selection of dog treats is unsurpassed. Second, my wife and I just took Sutton, our dog, for 1-2 hour and 1 full day stay at Mountain Mongrels. This is the FIRST time we've ever "kenneled" our dog and we were VERY nervous. The staff at Mountain Mongrels were extremely helpful and professional. They fully answered all our questions, which placed our minds at ease. Last, but certainly not least, the staff at Mountain Mongrels are animal lovers. They went out of their way to help make Sutton's stay great. This is the place if you need dog food, treats, toys or a pet hotel. read more

This place was great -- we left our 2 big dogs here while we enjoyed the Indian Summer days of September. They were very accommodating, great shop and we were late picking up one night because we had been rafting and they were really gracious especially in light of the fact that they had dinner plans. read more

We left our dog at MM for 2 nights last week when we went into the backcountry in Rocky Mtn National Park (where pets are prohibited). I was nervous, because we've never boarded our dog but it turned out great! The people at MM are amazing - true dog lovers! Very friendly and treated my dog great. They aren't your typical boarding facility -- there are no kennels and the dogs have the freedom to roam inside or in the fenced yard. The dogs can even sleep with the owner in her bed at night! They made sure my dog was well taken care of and I'm so grateful for their services! We'll definitely be back next time we visit the area! read more

There are not enough stars available to truly rate this incredible family!!! They were so kind, so caring and loving to our dog, we recommend them to anyone, any time. Our Golden Retriever mix loved going there daily, she was always loved and cared for like she was part of THEIR family. Not a kennel, not a boarding facility - this is a place where your dog is treated like part of their family. This is by far my favorite dog boarding place ever! Our little 14-year-old​ puggle has separation anxiety and hadn't been to boarding in several years. They took great care of her. It went so well that we brought her back a couple weeks later so we could have a date night in Grand Lake. Our puggle remembered Mountain Mongrels and walked right in! I wish they were closer to us because we would use Mountain Mongrels all the day! I've been searching for places as good as Mountain Mongrels as when we travel and nobody compares! read more

Mountain Mongrel is the best! We left our overgrown, full of energy, 18 month old Gussie for 3 days of day care while we skied.He absolutely loved it, and I believe he is depressed to be back home!
