Mountain mist is a great ice cream place. The reason I gave stars is because my parents ordered a regular twist for six dollars and it was extremely tall and my parents were very happy. I ordered their they're twist and swirl which you can choose if you want chocolate or vanilla and put any candy you would like on it. I ordered a regular and it came out in a small dish for eight damn dollars do not order their twisted swirl. It is a scam. I paid eight dollars for a regular twisted swirl which was extremely small. Do not order what I gave one star cause the service was great. I like the people the boy was definitely not staring at me. And it has a the back and free Wi-Fi. The family stayed at Saranac Waterfront lodge for 4 days and had ice-cream sundaes, shakes, smoothies and snacks here due to convenience. I know each order was 4-5 items but every single time the order was completely wrong. We got shakes instead of smoothies, extra charges of ice cream we never asked for...Or wrong add-ins. We didn't complain until the last day. I ordered 4 ice creams and my email receipt showed an incorrect 5th order. When I complained they didn't care. FYI always ask for a receipt. Also it was the same teenage girl each time that messed up the order. I can afford the errors but if you can't then speak up. read more

Really good ice cream ! They have four sizes ( baby, small, medium and large ) small is definitely more than enough. The portions are very generous. Anything bigger is 100% share size. If you can finish it alone, kudos to you! I've visited this place every day of my week long, lake vacay and it was great every time. The servers are very friendly and patient. Ten months after trying this place for the first time I am here again and soooo glad to be here. I am very picky about having a small size ice cream cone so I order a baby twist. To me more isn't more. I always order the kid sized or baby but here I could eat so much more it's just so refreshing and obviously homemade. We come by boat and meet friends who join us by bike. It's a wonderful spot with room to sit out back by the water. Today's flavor of the day was banana and many folks in our group had it twisted with chocolate. Sooo good. I'm upgrading to five stars after trying many places in the area and elsewhere. They have a wonderful mix of excellent quality custard style ice cream and affordable prices... I've loved this place my whole life. A soft serve cone on a dock on the lake...what could be better?! What's better is their new covered,open air seating, also dockside! A great, family friendly spot to have a burger or dog and a cone or sundae while watching the boats go by. I took off a star because the service is slow and disjointed. One of the servers said it's because it's no particular person's job to serve the seating area...they all just catch it as they can. Management might want to rethink that. There's another soft-serve ice cream that people love nearby, but we found the we like Mountain Mist more! Higher quality flavors -- the chocolate actually tastes chocolate, versus just "sweet." The black raspberry was YUMMY! And we loved that there is a choice of flavors, versus the other place where they choose the flavor and you just choose the size. Upon researching, I found that it's called Lake Flower. Regardless of the name, it's wonderful to sit on the dock in back and eat ice cream, etc. The place also serves fast food. What a cute little ice cream stand! They have three flavors of soft serve ice cream: chocolate, vanilla, and a changing flavor of the day. When I went, the flavor of the day was blueberry. You can get cups, comes, waffle cones, and there are some toppings and hard-shell dip options too (cherry dip on vanilla was very good!). Four servings are offered, baby, small, medium, and large. We got two smalls and they were a good size, a little less than what I imagined was a medium actually! But here's the best part: the ice cream was incredibly good! Rich in flavor, perfect amount of sweetness, really thick and smooth but still light, it was perfect. I also liked how it held its pretty twist shape and takes a very long time to melt. Plus, fast, friendly service. Low prices. It has some nice waterfront seating so you can eat while looking out at the lake.
