With Mountain Home Carpet Center, we had excellent service from the moment we walked through the door! All carpet options were expertly explained. Ramps, transitions, steps, and even a spiral staircase were nicely handled and installed. We're very pleased with the entire experience and especially the finished product! read more

I live down in Orange County but have a cabin in Lake Arrowhead. I have used Mountain Home Carpet a few times now and I couldn't be happier. I just wish they had a second location in Orange County because each time we use them it is a seamless, fast and easy process, which never happens with contractors and your home. The prices are very reasonable and competitive and I couldn't be happier with this place. They will forever have my business! read more

We told Melanie our price range for carpet and she showed us some quality selections. We had another bid and Melanie beat the other competitor. It took just a week as promised to get the carpet in and was installed today by two of the nicest and professional installers. We are very pleased with the result. The installers were fast and efficient but they also took time with details... most importantly, they cleaned up the job beautifully. 5 Stars! read more

Melanie is wonderful! Very responsive, honest, and handles things very professionally.

Had a small area of my home with irregular features that needed carpet fast. They were on-time for the estimate appointment. Easy to schedule and work was perfectly executed. Fair price and great service. The installer even hauled away a little extra stuff I had at the house. Thank you for the great service. You will have my business again. read more

We have worked with Melanie on two of our personal residences and several of our investment properties. Most recently, we had carpet installed in the bedrooms of a home in Palm Desert. The carpet was beautiful! But one of the bedroom's carpets had a large wrinkle going through it. When the workmen saw it, they took it out since it was flawed. Melanie called us right away to let us know that we would get replacement carpet from the manufacturer as soon as possible. And they came out to install it later the same week. Excellent problem solving and making sure that the customer was happy. We highly recommend using Mountain Home Carpet Center for your home. Great selection and great service! read more

Do not use this company. The carpet she recommended was improperly installed, the wrong carpet for the sub flooring, and had rips near the door which she blamed the installation company for, she claims is not her company, and is bulking.then the Owner tied to blame me. Also the pad was not what I ordered as I had to have another company come in a try to repair. Owner refused to fix anything and had the audacity and her script down, to blame me. Suprised they are still in business. Beware and just use another company down the mountain or Home Depot. Locals try to support local companies, but the companies like this seem not to care about their customers. Beware. And make sure every single request is in writing. read more

Another buyer has said it all and I agree. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS OR MELANIE. I thought going with a locally owned shop would be better than Empire Today that could do the flooring in two weeks ( In writing!) for same price! Was told by Melanie it would be a couple weeks. When a couple weeks turned into a couple months, all we heard was excuses. We had authorized 1/2 down on our credit card to put the order in place . The authorization was for a single charge. A couple of months go by and an installation date is set. I travel nearly a hour and a half to ensure I would be there the next day for the install. On the way, I get a call and they cancelled. Another week goes by and it gets installed after I pulled two of the three toilets and prepped the floors. (Yes, I paid for that too). When I arrived to view the job, they had broken the last toilet, the vinyl had bubbles everywhere and the quarter round they installed( Paid extra for that too) was so substandard, I had them pull it off. They couldn't fix the bubbles, I had the quarter round completed by someone else. All I received was more excuses! I contacted Melanie on a Monday and advised I had the quarter round redone and still observed more bubbles. Later that afternoon, I received my American Express statement and guess what? Three weeks earlier, she unlawfully charged our credit card without authorization for the full balance of the job. Simple story now, another excuse, that the manufacturer needs to look at the floor. It has been 6 months now, she unlawfully charges our credit card, which is a crime, for the full amount, including the toilets and quarter round, fails to follow up and get "manufacturer" to correct floor. DO NOT TRUST HER, NOW I HAVE TO FILE A CRIME REPORT FOR HER UNLAWFUL, UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT CARD CHARGE. WAITED TWO MONTHS AND SHE WOULDN'T REMOVE CHARGE. American Express was notified again and if she doesn't return CHARGE, will my only option is the crime report. Signed, totally frustrated, amazed and surprised that she can do this and still be in business! read more

Problem solved! I purchased my wood floors from Melanie at Mountain Home Carpet and had a good experience until the floors started to come up at the corners. After a lot of back and forth and investigation it was determined that it was my fault that this was happening and not the manufacturer (Urban Floor) or the installer or MHC. It was due to not enough moisture in the cabin. At first MHC was reluctant to help me and said that I would have to pay for repairs, but in the end Melanie came through for me and had the floors repaired. I would recommend MHC, but I would make sure you understand that wood floors in a mountain environment is different than anywhere else, because of lack of humidity. I had no idea, and would have liked to have been made aware of this from the beginning. Melanie was very accommodating in the end. read more

Not just good, or great, but EXTRAORDINARY. My husband and I are remodeling a home we recently purchased some distance from where we live full time, so we knew of no local carpet-people personally. We intended to recarpet the entire house so it was a substantial amount of carpet and we gave three local stores an opportunity to bid. Melanie, at Mt. Home Carpet Center was the winner and being a winner didn't stop there. The old carpet had been installed by another company and where it butted against tile, the full side-edge of the tile was exposed and worse, the difference in the level of the carpet and tile made it easy to stumble. When Melanie came to measure the rooms, she pointed out that risers should have been installed where the carpet butted against the tile to raise the carpet to the same level. Not only that, but the old carpet had a square pattern that was not square in the room. Because the new carpet I'd chosen had a pattern as well, I pointed that out to Melanie who said, "no problem." She then ordered the carpet and due to inclement weather and other unforeseen delays, painting, tile-cleaning etc., she had to store the carpet for longer than anticipated but once again, it was "no problem" . . . she couldn't have been more understanding or accommodating. When the day finally came that we were ready for the installers, they were equally gracious and capable. They installed the risers, squared the new pattern perfectly in all of the rooms (even inside the tiny closets tucked away under the stairs and everywhere else in the house). Their workmanship was meticulous from start to finish. I honestly can't think of one thing that wasn't done perfectly. And, as if Melanie and her crew hadn't already received an A+ for the entire job, a letter arrived a few weeks later thanking us for our business and enclosed with it, a gift card for two cups of coffee at Starbucks! It doesn't get better than that. Every now and then a business "knocks it out of the park" . . . That was certainly our experience with Mt. Home Carpet Center. T.M.F. read more
