I would never rent from this agency again. Our experience was unsatisfactory from the beginning. When we checked in with the agent the day before our arrival, we were told that the house was warm and ready for us. But when we arrived an hour after check-in time, the snow from the previous day was not plowed from the driveway and it was impossible to drive down to the house. Instead, we had to drive up to a gas station to call about it, and wait for an hour until it was cleared. But then once we drove down to the house, the walk from the driveway to the house was not cleared and was impassable. At least three feet of snow in addition to higher drifts blocked our way, and we had to dig out a path to get to the front door. By this time it was almost dark.
The dishes in the dishwasher were dirty and even after we ran them through the dishwasher, food was still caked on and we had to wash them by hand to get them clean.
The bedroom carpet was not vacuumed and there was even a big dead spider on the mattress cover when I pulled down the bedspread to make the bed. Also no hatchet to cut kindling or wood for the fireplace.
On our last day, the ceiling in the kitchen started leaking from the melting snow piled on the deck above it, and we had to clean up the water and set out pots.
I realize things don't always go smoothly and weather conditions can be a challenge in the mountains, but it seemed little effort had been made to accommodate our arrival aside from turning on the heat. I can say that the house was warm and in other ways comfortable and well set up. However, when I spoke to the agent about the circumstances, she became defensive and offered no apology or attempt to make things right.
