We didn't, but there was one going on when we got there. Innkeepers Val Peterson & Paul Stackhouse made us feel like family...and eavesdropping on the conversation with the bride and groom, I know they felt special too. Each room is beautifully decorated with antiques and every morning you are greeted to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and muffins and scones baking in the oven to go along with a full breakfast served in the very formal dining room. The room may be formal, but the atmosphere is very relaxed. I really can't wait to go back! One word AWESOME or maybe EXTRAORDINARY. Just remember they are open from April 1-November 30. Even they need a break sometime.

The house is like a comfortable museum - beautifully decorated with antique items, but you don't feel like you're in a "no touch" zone. The hostess was super friendly and extremely accommodating, especially when we told her we would miss breakfast because we had to leave a little early to go whale watching. She and her staff started breakfast early and still fed us a full feast! It's centrally located, an easy walk to the center of Annapolis Royal but still a bit quiet and tucked away. We stayed in Room 2, which has a wonderful bed (comfy and quiet) and a large free-standing tub perfect for soaking in. The only complaint is that we're a bit sensitive to noise on a road, and this room is at the front of the house, so you can hear the cars moving along. However, the house is set back from the road, so it's not a considerable annoyance, and there is not much that the Inn can do about that. As it is, they do have an AC unit in the room, so it's easy to keep windows closed. Room 2 has a great free standing bathtub and a comfy and quiet bed. You don't share a wall with any other guests since the bathroom separates your bedroom from other guests, so it's very private.

The fairways and bunkers are in horrible condition. No grass. Hard dried mud on every fairway and bunker complex. Tee decks are not maintained. Stanley Thompson would be so disappointed in how poorly maintained his course is. Avoid as there are are far better golf courses in the area

We settled on the Admiral Digby Inn, also, because it seemed pretty central. For a random, pretty uniformed choice, we really hit the jackpot. We rented the 2 bedroom cottage and it could not have been more perfect. We were on the motel property but off in the corner, so it felt incredibly private. We had all the amenities of the motel-including the indoor heated pool and the AMAZING restaurant- but we had our own kitchen, living room and 2 private decks. One with ocean views and a hammock that I miss! I had the best haddock I've ever had at the restaurant. Breakfast was yummy too. If I have to pick a negative, it would be that there were no televisions in the bedrooms. But that's not really a negative, because we didn't travel all the way to Nova Scotia to watch TV. The pool was a little dated, but my son, the little fish, didn't care. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The front desk clerk offered us great advice on what to see and do, and even offered to book us a whale watch. They even had discount tickets to Upper Clements amusement park. I cannot recommend the Admiral Digby Inn highly enough. We're hoping to visit next year!

The owners, Courtney and Nick, have been so above and beyond gracious showing us the ropes. The campground is just a few minutes outside the Town of Digby, and it comes with a nice beautiful, CLEAN pool. The washrooms and laundry facilities are also extremely clean. Great playground for the little ones, and an indoor place for when it rains. I think the best thing of all is the enforcement of the 10km/hr speed limit to keep the kids safe. There are also cabins down in the back of the campground if you want to bring a group of friends who do not like tenting and who do not have RVs. Perfect next to the washrooms and not too far from the pool :)

As former award winning innkeepers from Woodstock VT we know how many places are not only operated by folks who really don't resonate with hospitality as a profession, but also seem to be unable to be consistent in how they offer it. Kevin and Lesley have found a level and deliver with aplomb, clearly loving human interaction. Whilst the style of the inn is not one I would seek out, the owners clearly love it, clean it and offer a very gentle personal service. The plumbing is a little noisy but it's an old building and really doesn't disturb you. The bathroom provided a range of complimentary lotions and potions, the bedroom all manner of tea/coffee and more. Even fresh milk was offered however I had my own. The bed was traditional in height, comfortable and with decent pillows. Air conditioning is provided and exceptionally quiet it was to; not one of those noisy window units. The breakfast was prescriptive and as I really cannot abide french toast, Kevin provided me with some scrambled eggs and bacon without any fuss. My one small piece of advice, given to me decades ago by a hospitality professional I will happily share. The innkeeper owns the vertical surfaces; the client the horizontal ones. I had to clear space to allow the use of my laptop, the bathroom again would benefit from a clear surface to place personal items. Simple to enact.....and this would also allow for easier dusting.... Believe you and me EVERY nook, cranny and corner had been dusted which I found impressive as the place contains an awful lot of nostalgia. The cherry on the cake; I left a power lead behind. An e-mail quickly made its way to me offering to send it, keep it etc. However I was able to return to pick it up the next day. That was the sign of a true innkeeper.

Amazing summer stay!!!…read more We had the absolute pleasure of staying in the Winchester House of the Harbourview Inn for August of 2020 and we can hardly wait to go back next year! Our unit came with a fully equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher), a washer dryer and even a whirlpool bathtub. Our room was quaintly decorated and the bed very comfortable. We loved having breakfast on the side patio and Greg and Belinda even supplied us with a bbq for our month long stay. We received excellent value for our stay. We made sure to explore the local walking paths and swam in the pool daily. We also enjoyed beachcombing and the playground daily but the true icing on the cake were Greg and Belinda. They were incredibly helpful and friendly to make sure we got to enjoy all the local hidden treasures of Smiths Cove and the surrounding areas.

A small B&B just meters from the waterfront and the downtown, such as there is in Digby. The owner was all you could ask for, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Our room was clean and well appointed. The hot breakfast in the morning was very nice, coffee was great. All in all a great place to unwind at the end of the day and look at your pictures from whatever adventure you went on. I highly recommend the Bayside and would stay there again.

The room was a…read morelarge king bed room overlooking the water -- three large windows provided the viviews, and in addition there was a small private wood deck right outside the room also with a glorious sea view. The room was spotlessly clean, the bathroom was large with a very nice step-in shower (no tub), and there was also a roomy closet. The bed proved comfortable, and the AC worked fine. Technology got in the way with the TV, however. We couldn't figure how to operate it, and asked the staff to help. It took them a while to get it right, but then the next evening we encountered the same problem and got the same help. Too much technology, in our opinion. The suites are entered from the street and up a flight of steps - no elevators. Hauling bags can be challenging. The front desk is in the next door restaurant, a little confusing at first. Parking is free in a small lot across the street, though spaces are limited. There are a couple of restaurants, all part of the same group, located in the building. (We review them separately.) One gripe: one of the restaurants has an outside speaker spewing a sort of loud disco 80s beat music and we could feel the thump-thump in our room from around 3 until it quit at 11pm. We asked about having it stopped and got no results. A minor issue but an annoying one that keeps us from giving this hotel five stars. The staff proved friendly and helpful. The suites are quite a bargain given their size and the views, a little under $200 per night in US dollars. Digby is a nice little town on the Bay of Funky famous for its fresh scallops, and we can't imagine there's a better place to stay if you're visiting here.
