Not good! I called Alpine Bike Works on Friday June 12th. I was told they had one Santa Cruz…read moreMegatower CS X-large bike in stock; however, it was still in the box. I stated that I would be stopping by on the morning of Sunday the 14th to check it out and purchase it. I was told the bike would be ready and waiting for me. I arrived at the shop on Sunday 11am only to discover the bike had not been pulled, unboxed and assembled yet--a process that takes between an hour to an hour and a half. I had just driven 96mi/2 hours to get there only to learn they failed to follow through with having the bike ready & waiting. As I left the shop, the Owner stopped me outside stating that he wanted to "help me". I asked him what exactly he meant by that, to which he responded "I'll have the bike built for you right now." Now, I'm thinking to myself this guy didn't have time to get it right prior to my arrival; yet, suddenly has found the time--My Time--to get it right after my arrival? Really? That's how it's done? I told the Owner I don't do business like this. No reputable business does. Since when did it become acceptable to presume upon a potential customers time? My plans for the day did not include waiting 1 1/2 hours for a bike build. This guy didn't even offer to buy me a cup of coffee while I waited. Furthermore, what prevented them from calling me ahead of time to inform me the bike wouldn't be ready & waiting? They had a day and a half! Also, I couldn't help but wonder as I drove home, if the Owner lost sight of the fact that as a paying customer, I was there to Help him and not the other way around. He needed to sell the bike; I don't need to buy. Lastly, if they can't be counted upon to assemble a bike when they said they would, or at least make a simple heads-up courtesy phone call, then what is there to make me think they can follow through with anything else? I can only imagine the headaches were there to be a warranty issue or a simple return. Not Good! Scott M. Colchester, Vt.

Brian was amazing and worked tirelessly to get a perfect fit for my husband's boots as his feet are a challenge to fit. We also purchased new skis while we were there and found the overall experience and expense were excellent. We will be back and we will be bringing our family. Thank you Brian and Joyce for your expertise.

Do not make the costly mistake of trusting the boot fitters of this store…read more Highly unethical store. Bootfitter here assessed my feet and convinced me to buy demo boots that I learned were too big and too high a flex for my level. As a result of these ill fitting boots I experienced a tremendous amount of pain, wasted hours trying to fix, and wasted hundreds of dollars and more considering the cost of skiing and ski trips. These boots also put me at a much more increased risk of injury.' After getting custom orthotics, and visiting a 2nd boot fitter, who said the boots are too big to be fixable, I returned to the boot pro (2 hours a way) drove two hours to go back to The Boot Pro. Boot pro confirmed the boots were infact way too big, provided a refund for the boots, without any apology or acknowledgement of the impact of their error. They even tried to upsell me some leftover boots. When I emailed the owner his response was that boot fitting is a complimentary service and implied he would not refund my money if I did not take down my negative google review. Showed no concern or apology. I've heard ill fitting boots are a common occurrence at this store and that the nearby totem store does a much better job.
