Decent coffee shop for the area. My husband ordered an espresso and, "the charmed life" breakfast cereal. He loved it! (Lucky charm marshmallows with life cereal-basically a happy sugar bomb!) I ordered their house iced mocha. A bit sweet for me but decent. Cute coffee house vibe and we loved eating in their back patio! read more

Delicious coffee. Definitely worth the wait. I went in when it was busy, and they were under staffed. It took 15-20 min to get an iced coffee to go, but it was worth it. I will definitely go back again next time I'm in town. read more

I can't express how happy I am that this little coffee shop is here...awesome ambiance, friendly staff, wireless internet, and delicious coffee. My new favorite spot in town. read more

Great service, the sandwiches and pastries are awesome. So happy we found this place. Anytime a place is this good, you wish it was open 24 hours but in order to prepare there great food, I understand they would have to have limited hours. But 6am until 6 pm is not bad. You will not be disappointed. read more

Love supporting local business. Friendly staff, cool music, great tea selection. Absolutely cute interior decor!!! Wish it was open later. But this is just opening, so we'll see what their hours of operation's will be like. I love this place. read more

I was super excited to have another coffee/tea option in town besides the good old chain places. However, I am quite afraid this one will go the way of other local shops and it saddens me because it needn't be so. I like to frequent local businesses whenever I can. First the good....every drink and food item I've had here has been tasty and I can't complain. The decor is lovely and it's a great place to sit and chat with a friend. Now the bad...customer service leaves A LOT to be desired. I have been here regularly since they opened and I kept hoping this one aspect of it would improve, but it hasn't. About 8 out of 10 times when I walk in I receive no greeting or even acknowledgement and wait patiently for many minutes until someone comes over to the register to stare at me without a word. A friendly "good morning", "Someone will be with you in just a minute", or "what can I get for you today" or just a friendly smile would go a long way toward making people feel comfortable. I have often walked in and with no one else in line, had 1 or 2 people look at me and then go about their business like I'm not even there. I have seen these same people greet their friends who arrive while I am still there, however, so I know they can do it - they just choose not to. The other thing is the constant changing/cutting of hours. This is a the type of place that would do well for group gatherings in the evenings but until recently they close at 5 or 6 pm which doesn't encourage that type of business. Now I see a sign that says they will be open 7:30am - 4pm. I'm not sure who their primary target audience is but this will kill any and all commuter traffic that might have otherwise taken the time to swing through on the way to/from work. Lastly, and really least concerning, is the lack of parking. There are about 4 spaces in their lot and about 4 spaces in front of the building along the street. It's a little tight to get in and out of but doable and I would gladly overlook this if the hours and consistent good customer service were a prevalent trait. read more

This place is so amazing, it's my go to whenever I really need to get work done. The environment is so comfortable and ambient and the customer service is unlike any coffee shop I've ever been to. They really go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable, they have even thoughtfully brought me water long after my coffee ran out. I definitely don't ever feel like I'm over staying my welcome here. The coffee is top notch and they have really unique options. The blackberry rose mocha is my favorite, it's unique, but not too sweet (unlike starbucks). The food options are also super delicious and everything is home made and healthy. Sometimes I just want to live in this place haha. read more

The coffee was obviously better than the other competitor down the street Starbucks BUT ice teas not so much so don't order they pour the hot water over a cup of ice and so therefore it just tastes like water and never let it steep long enough for flavor. The environment it lovely and what the owners did to the place was amazing. The reason why it's a 3 instead of a 5 is because even though the environment is nice and the coffee is good the customer service dose not back the visit up. I have been there 3 time and not once has anyone said hello or thank you . And they seem to be almost annoyed with having to take an order from customers. Even though you can receive a quality drink the experience is what makes it and the experience here is at a low. I have not been since I believe 3rd time is the charm and that was a sign to not go back. read more

Exciting to have another great place to eat. The service is friendly and attentive. The coffee drinks were hot and delicious. The food was tasty and simple. The remodel of this building is beautiful and inviting. read more

Best coffee ever!!! Not BITTER like other places. I asked for a recommendation from the Barista, she suggested the Almond Joy--it was awesome! I also tried a sip of my Mom's coffee & it was really good too. The breakfast sandwich was also great. I will be back... read more

Love this place. They know their craft far better than most and I recommend them over any large coffee chain.

This is the coffee shop Tehachapi has needed forever! I love this place. The energy, the lighting, the decor, it's all so cozy. The coffee is delicious, service is great and friendly. I recommend the avocado toast and the black cinnamon latte. Both are so good! I'm so pleased to hear that they are extending their hours. This town needs it!! Hopefully this can become a true Tehachapi staple! read more

I rarely post reviews for anything, but when a business is truly that bad, it is necessary for the people. This is not a review based off one visit. This is a review based off over 20 visits. I have tried food and drinks from the coffee mill and I personally find their products to be exceptional. Their staff however is horrible. It's definitely not all staff but it feels close to half of their staff just doesn't give a damn about anything. After this morning, the female staff member was so horrible I decided I truly will never return to this business. The owner could give me $500 store credit and I still wouldn't return because I don't want to deal with the staff. Specifically this morning, I ordered a smoothie and I got a paper straw. Who the hell gives out paper straws. I tried the straw to give the employee the benefit of the doubt and to no surprise, the paper from the straw began to get soggy and hang off, I could taste pieces going into my mouth and all I could do was spit it on the floor outside. I asked for a plastic straw and the female said they don't have anything else. I told her the paper was coming off and she replied, "well, that's all we have." It seems simple but it's more about the attitude of the employee and this same female has had the same horrible attitude about different concerns when attending this business. I am a customer spending money for a quality product and quality service and that's not what I'm getting here. I make this same shake at home on a regular basis but when I'm in a hurry, buying it here saved me time. It is no longer worth it. I advise new customers to go elsewhere. read more

Love going to this coffee shop when I can. Coffee is great and it has a cool vibe! I do wish the breakfast food had more variety.

Cool place. Had a sandwich for lunch and a slice of their carrot cake. My sandwich was warm and the cheese was melted perfectly. The carrot cake was different from most carrot cakes out there. I actually liked the uniqueness of the cake and would order it again if I find myself by there again. I ordered a traditional cappuccino and was a little disappointed when it came out as a 12oz latte. It still tasted good, just not what I ordered. read more

Amazing quiet and clean coffee shop. Great latte and latte art as well as a large selection of fancy teas. I tried the coconut vanilla black tea and it tasted amazing. Staff was very friendly. Lots of plugs. Good fast WiFi. Good assortment of seating options including couches, tables, and higher barstool height tables. read more

I live in Tehachapi and never stopped here until my son, visiting from Connecticut, suggested we go here. We had a blended caramel macchiato that was soo luscious!! I will definitely be back‼ read more

What a great place. Lovely decor , nice owners work the counter , coffee is good, wi fi , and soft couches and a patio . They had 1 pair of solar eclipse glasses and lots of people shared them. I was so grateful as I could not find a single glasses left the day before the eclipse. Relaxed atmosphere :)) read more

I'm only in Tehachapi for a few days to visit a friend. My friend recommended this place. It's easy to miss, but when I went inside I was pleasantly surprised by the design of the building. There is nice wood paneling for the ceiling and granite countertops. There are comfy couches and nice wooden tables. The place is perfect for someone wanting to get some work done; I feel very comfortable. The wifi is fast, the coffee is great, and the space is beautiful! Definitely check this place out! read more

Ordered medium roast and it was super strong and bitter. Only a big splash of milk made it drinkable. Also had an egg and cheese English muffin sandwich, totally tasteless and the cheese was the kind that has never seen real milk..the kind that you get in single slices. What is up with that? Can you say "egg mcmuffin" at more than $4.- No, I will not go there again. read more

Such a lovely place to hang out or grab a quick coffee to go. Lots of options, nice ambiance, dog friendly, and pleasant staff!

It pains me to give this place a bad review. I come through here about once every three months. Usually it is a pleasant experience. However this most recent time they were quite annoying. I came in about three, close to closing. Customer service was adequate. However about 3:45 they shut off the Wi-Fi. I was planning on leaving at four but wanted to drink as much of my coffee as possible. My coffee was weak and I wanted 2 more shots but they said they already shut down the espresso machine And could not pull anymore shots. I don't know if it is under new ownership but I do not believe that this is good customer service. If next time my experience is better, I will update and review read more

Hey Yelp! 74 miles isn't LOCAL. I have no intention of driving over an hour for a cup of coffee. This is the second time Yelp has emailed me with out-of-town "local" spots. OK, we Ridgecrustaceans are used to folks not knowing where we actually are. It goes waaay back, so I guess I shouldn't complain, although with devices that tattle our pinpoint location, there should be no excuse. One positive is that, with almost nobody knowing where we are, we won't suffer from a pop explosion :-) When I get to Tehachapi in a few years, I will probably forget to stop by this place. My loss. P.S. I couldn't post this without a rating, so I gave it the best I could, based on other reviews from people who actually tried the joint. read more

The aesthetic was perfect and definitely looks like a good hangout but I was just really put off by how unfriendly the two girls working behind the counter were. I asked a question and they didn't really give any feedback as far as the product goes so I just left. read more

Hot Butter Beer drink and the Hot Apple something drink it was yummy sorry can't remember the exact name. Not a lot of sugar free choices.

When I stopped in, I didn't order coffee. Opted instead for chai latte and a sausage, egg & cheese on brioche. WOW it was good. So nice to visit a locally owned place with delicious, FRESH breakfast food! Everyone I've since recommended has come back with a rave review and a big thank you for turning them on to Coffee Mill. When something is this good, how can you NOT share? :=)) Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. read more

As is our habit, my wife and I stop in Tehachapi for lunch and maybe coffee on our way to visit family in Porterville. The last time through we noticed a large bill board ad for the Coffee Mill and thought we would give it a chance. The Coffee mill is situated in a converted home. The re-design works quite well. A sofa and a couple of comfy chairs on one side of the main room and several tall bistro tables on the other end. There is also a small patio area to the rear of the shop. We ordered a latte each and they were done to perfection. Their coffee is properly roasted -- not over-done like brand S. The Mill's coffee leaves that slightly dusty chocolatey after taste that is a delight to the palate. They also offer loose leaf teas. I didn't try the tea but I might next time. If you are a smoothy fan, they'll fix you up. The Mill also offers bakery items but by late afternoon they may have run out or be quite low on inventory. The young ladies behind the counter were delightful; they knew what customer relations is all about. For cyclists passing through, I didn't notice any dedicated bike racks but there are several "hard point" options for locking up outside. read more

Better than Starbucks. Very cozy and clean, just the way I like it. Even has a clean immaculate bathroom. There's always soothing coffee shop music playing too. There's inside seating and a patio area in the front and the rear. It's in a nice area. A big menu with unique items. My favorite is the Hot Lips. It's a cold latte with warm foam on the top. The sensation is cool. They have wifi too. read more

Super great coffee, and very accommodating for people with multiple food allergies. My kiddos were big fans of the Beet Root And Berries Smoothie. So glad someone recommended we give it a try! read more

The coffee mill is a great place to go however my past experience hindered me so. I begin my day in tehachapi as relaxing and calm I just pulled up to the coffee Mill around 2 o'clock and then when I went inside I patiently waited for my companion to finish getting her order when it was my turn I got my order and the lady made no recommendation whatsoever that a small macchiato was going to be way too strong so I proceeded to order it anyway. I sat down in the corner seat my friend and we were chilling when suddenly a nice welcoming exquisite lady Came over and told me that I should not get a macchiato and a small size Due to the fact that it would be too strong she offered me an alternative option such as a larger size or an iced coffee no price whatsoever was mentioned and so I told her an ice coffee would be nice thank you. Another lady comes and brings me my ice coffee set it down profusely with anger and mentions That iced coffee with two dollars extra with a rude tone. This place was nice but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't know your coffee read more

By far the best kept secret in Tehachapi. It's warm and welcoming, with an awesome staff! The coffee is made exactly like you'd get in a five star French or Italian bistro by the beach. Do yourself a favor and skip Starbucks, and go see Carah for the best cup of coffee, and Amber for a pastry that rivals Kohnens! read more
