Been coming to mountain burrito for years. Before I get to the food, the staff are amazing. There's a school for the Deaf right across, and a few have learned American Sign Language for easy experience for that group. The food. I've never been disappointed with a meal there. Food is good but customer service is terrible. First there are people working with long hair hanging over food without hair nets or hats. Then there are people being rude with or short with people who have legitimate complaints without bringing them up with management. Once complaint is given customer service goes down hill fast. Like I said the food is good but unless you want long red hairs in your tacos/burritos and a spoonful of crappy attitude then skip this place. Its not worth the cost. read more

This is by far my favorite place to eat in Morganton. The food is locally sourced, and it's a variation on your traditional Mexican. I have to say that their taco salads are to die for, but you make your own experience when it comes to your meal. You choose what you want on your food, including sour cream and all the sauces like queso and salsa. They even have chorizo as a choice for your meat, which I get every time. This is a build your own dish place with lots of flavor options with the different sauces they offer. Great atmosphere, clean, friendly staff. Chips come with your meal along with a small cup of salsa. It was a little hard to find because there was no big sign along the outside of the building - just a decal on their glass door. Most of the ingredients are very delicious, and obviously fresh. Their only rice option is steamed white rice which seems very out of place in a burrito restaurant and is a major letdown. They also really need the salsa bar to be out where the customers can self-serve. For those two reasons I give it three stars. I love this place! They have excellent chicken and pork with lots of healthy toppings. I do wish they would add pickled jalapeño peppers to their list of toppings. They have fresh jalapeños, but I prefer mine pickled. I've asked several times for them to be added to the menu but all they ever offer is pickled banana peppers. Had lunch at this place today. It was pretty awesome. I ordered the lunch special,which came with two tacos, chips, and salsa or queso. I had the roasted pork tacos and they were epic.
