BUT...if you are looking for a veggie burrito, you might be reaching for the salt or bring your own herbs and spices. We ate there on Aug 30, 2014. The veggie burrito was "mushrooms." Mushrooms seem odd for a burrito, so I elected to pass those. Consequently, I ended up with a very bland burrito made of incredibly fresh ingredients. Very impressed with my first visit to MB. That burrito was HUGE and everything in it was delicious. Atmosphere was cool and the place was clean. They have picnic tables outside which is nice on pretty days. As my son and I were eating 4 highway patrol officers walked in and I told him I knew the place had to be good if the local cops eat here. My son and I both ate for less than 20 bucks and that was with our drinks. :) Can't beat their food or the price. read more

Not much to look at from the outside, but go in and just let the awesomeness wash over you in a wave of jalapeños and habaneros. Both of us got burrito bowls, mine chicken and his steak, and they were so on point. Warning: the hot sauces are indeed HOT. Stopped here for lunch before heading up to Pisgah National Forest to hike. There was a line at lunchtime on Saturday but it moved quickly. The crew was friendly and worked fast. The burritos were large and very tasty with fresh pico. Plenty of good food to hold us for an afternoon of hiking. Sitting outside was also nice. Best burrito place in town. Prepared fresh daily, you can choose between a burrito, salad, bowl, or tacos. I really like their homemade nacho chips, they are really fresh, crunchy, and delicious. I've been coming here for years and I cannot complain about the food, service, or dining experience. The place can tend to be pretty packed during lunchtime so don't plan to bring a bunch of people with you at once and expect to get seats. My wife, daughter, & I went to Mt. Burrito yesterday and I will try to go back to try other things on the menu. My daughter got a burrito and let me tell you it was HUGE!!! She said it was good. My wife & I both got taco salads. Me, I like me a good taco salad and it was quite good. I prefer my taco salad in a taco shell but this taco salad didn't come in a shell but chips (if you wanted them, get them, they're good) was put on the bottom of whatever you request to be put in the taco salad. You are able to watch your food being made, I like that. Other reviewers raved about the Sunshine sauce and I got that. I also requested jalapenos and the heat of them sure was THERE!!! I'd go back to Mt. Burrito just for the jalapenos. My taco salad was really good and I sure do recommend this place. read more

Stumbled upon this place on the way back to Charlotte from a day of hiking and so glad we did!! We got a salad with pork and nachos with steak, also chips, salsa and guac. I give them a 3 because I don't believe they do a great job of preparing the ingredients, offer hard shell tacos or corn tortillas which offer another level of taste for those who enjoy them. As far as preparation, the steak chicken and pork are tasty but cut too large and not drained enough to put on soft flour tortillas. The beans can also be a bit runny. It's a Mexican Subway with fresh ingredients that you select. As with Subway it is a little daunting to be hit with so many choices if, like me, you just want something to eat. But with repeated experience you can get more of what you want as you pay closer attention. I'll ask for no cilantro. They include some interesting choices like pineapple. They give you a nice aluminum container for take out or to take any leftovers home, and the portions are big enough for that possibility. Looked like a lot of people were getting take out on Friday night. The chips are lightly salted which is different from a lot of Mexican restaurants. They have a number of local craft beers. They appear somewhat community- conscious by recycling glass (but not aluminum). I didn't like the New Age music, but that is just me. read more
