Her first visit was in 1985 (same owners then too) she was back in 2005 and again with me in 2011. The owner was in for breakfast one day and was delighted to hear the story. He said the most loyal guest had visited from the age of 5 to 90. Here are reasons pertinent to choosing the Harlingford yourself: * It's affordable and pleasant. * It's a short bus or tube ride or a moderate walk from Soho/Leicester Square Theatre * It's a short walk to a couple of tube nexuses where you can jump on nearly any train line * It's close to attractions like the British Museum The hotel is a two-star hotel and will be a different experience than a Hilton or W Hotel. However the price offsets this difference as you're saving £100-200 per night! The free full English breakfast can give you a substantial and quick start to your day. If you are addicted to Starbucks there are two within two blocks. There are several nearby dining spots including an Indian restaurant named Depa and a city-class fish shop named North Sea Fish Restaurant. My hope is that travelers find this post when looking for affordable lodging in London. Please send me a Yelp compliment to let me know if this review helped you book a place to stay in London. In addition to price, location is important, but it can be a challenge if you don't know the city. When looking for a hotel for our five night stay, there were many affordable options in good areas of London, but in the end we chose 69 The Grove, a lovely B&B in the Vauxhall area of London, and it was a GREAT decision. 69 The Grove is so-called because the address is 69 Vauxhall Grove. It is in the Vauxhall area, which is just south of the Thames. While a bit further away from all the main attractions in London, it was just a five minute walk to Vauxhall Station, on the Victoria Line, and took just 20 to 30 minutes to get to wherever we needed to go. It was a perfect balance of being in a quiet residential area and having quick and easy access to the busier parts of the city. It was also within walking distance of many restaurants, parks, Westminster Abbey, Parliament Square, Lambeth Bridge, and other attractions. I absolutely loved the area. The price of our five night stay was $1,205.35 CAD (including all taxes), and a full English breakfast is included each morning, Monday to Saturday -- an excellent value. While the room was small, it had everything we needed -- a private bathroom, comfy bed, a mini fridge and kettle, and it was clean and quiet. If my budget allows, I want to make another trip to London, and I hope 69 The Grove is still in operation. It was such a pleasant place to stay, and I would not hesitate to go back. I highly recommend 69 The Grove. [Yelp collections: Europe 2024; London, England; Hotels]

The room itself was large, which surprised me because I was traveling solo. It was clean & quite lovely. Some of the impartial reviews are ridiculous. My room was updated, quiet, & the beds were comfortable. Yes, beds, I had two beds in my room. The breakfast was more than I expected & delicious. I would definitely stay here again. The location is an absolute dream. It's a five minute walk to the underground (tube) & the train station. The underground was difficult because it's not handicapped accessible. If you cross the street to the train station, it's easier to take the tube. So many souvenir shops on each street, which was overwhelming for a shopaholic like me lol. Many good restaurants, markets, & it's 20 minutes by tube or bus to Central London. Seriously, this is a must place to stay. You won't regret it. A word to the wise, invest in a high quality hooded rain poncho & keep it with you 24/7.

We enjoyed our stay at the Crescent Hotel during our 4 day trip to London! For context, I am from…read morethe US and have only stayed in one other hotel in London. Pros: It is in a great location, is easy to get to from either Euston or King's Cross/St. Pancras, has great breakfast, and is both clean and safe. We stayed in a room that had a double bed and a full bathroom. For my partner and I who were in London to explore and were in the hotel only to sleep and eat breakfast, it was wonderful! Everyone that works there is very kind and helpful and we appreciated that we were able to leave our luggage there for the day after we checked out so that we could explore a little more before taking a late afternoon train. Cons: The hotel is quite small, there are only stairs (not fun for trying to get your large suitcases up to your room), cooked breakfast is only available for a short time frame each day (I believe 7:30-9 on weekdays, to 9:30 on weekends) and the shower is very small. Overall, I would definitely stay in the Crescent Hotel again.

One of a number of similar sized B&Bs on the Cartwright Gardens crescent. It's a bit like Bath Royal crescent, but smaller and in the middle of London! The hotel is only a few hundred meters from St Pancras, Kings Cross and Euston stations and there are plenty of nearby restaurants and cafés. The hotel is extremely good value for Central London. It has around 25 rooms catering for 1 person on business, couples on a holiday, and families. Every room has Freeview TV and WiFi. Most rooms have at least a sink and shower, some with full bathroom, and a couple of cheaper rooms only have shared facilities. Breakfast is included and you have a choice of juice, cereals, fruit, tea/coffee. Hot food (including porridge) is available to order along with toast. Full English is advertised in the table, but the kitchen is happy to provide any combination and eggs however you like. But the breakfast restaurant is small with seven 4-seater tables and one 2-seater, so you have to get in early before the rush. There is a lounge with TV and a PC with Internet access and a printer and plenty of leaflets for shows and other things to do. If you're after an affordable decent B&B, it's great. However... due to the age and style of the building, it's not very accessible for the disabled or if you have trouble with steep stairs (there is no lift). The plumbing is occasionally noisy, and the showers not as hot or powerful as they should be. Some windows are draughty, but creative application of the thick curtains can get around that. All windows are single glazed too, so if you are in a room at the front of the hotel, you can hear noise from the road and nearby student halls of residence.
