I had mentioned to the examining optometrist I would be filling my glass prescriptions at Costco, as frames and prices were too expensive for me. His response was they would be sub par quality. I responded that if my prescription should change next year, I couldn't afford over $1,000 at HIS optical department. I have requested my records. I will not go back to Valley Vision & Optical.

They overbill and then charge you the full amount Medicare didn't cover. These are clearly extra charges and then they will harass you for payment. The facility itself is about a 2-star. Busy hectic waiting room, average friendliness of office staff, semi-clean rooms but could be better. Nursing staff is also average at best. One surgical nurse was extra brusque and they take forever to insert an IV, painfully so. Avoid this place if you can.

When we showed up for our appointment, they informed us that there had been an issue with the insurance (authorization blocked for some reason) and, when they made an attempt to call and inform us that we needed to call our insurance, my husband didn't recognize the number and didn't pick up, They cancelled our appointment. My husband took off work to drive me, and I am recovering from an illness. They didn't offer to squeeze us in but told us to leave, call our insurance, and then reschedule. I got angry and gave them very direct feedback. They called my husband later and told us we are not welcome to return. I am writing this review so that people making appointments with this optometrist understand the risks: They do not communicate by text or email, and, if you don't pick up when they call, your appointment may be cancelled without care or consideration on their part for the impact on the client.

I said okay and in one hour someone had canceled a appointment for later in the day and I was able to squeeze in. I am not local to this area and was very happy that they were able to take me and my insurance. When I arrived the receptionists were all very welcoming and as I waited I noticed how clean and home like it was compared to other places I have been seen. I was called back for my exam and the lady who did my 1st exam was kind and patient with my inability to keep my eye open during the air pressure test. I went in for the second part of the exam and was immediately comfortable with Dr. Eberhardt, he was very knowledgeable and explained to me my slight astigmatism and as we talked I asked about food to eat for eyes and what type of diet I should keep to for longevity in my eyesight (eye issues and blindness due to diet are common in my family) he gave me very good medical advice and before I knew it the exam was over. The glasses I was selecting from (economic package deal) were very nice and I had many options to choose from which usually is not the case in other offices I had been to in the past. If you are looking for a great prescription, welcoming staff, and a knowledgeable optometrist. I would highly recommend his office.

Following an eye exam in late 2022, I prepaid in full for new glasses. When I went to pick them up in January 2023, there seemed to be a problem. When I called my daughter to translate the nature of the problem, longtime office manager JOEN M. WILKINS picked up my phone and said to my daughter "ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE US A CREDIT CARD SO WE CAN RELEASE THESE FRAMES?" The office manager shortly thereafter realized that the frames were already paid for, and then "released" them to me without apology. In the very same day, I received a bill for the Medicaid paid for exam with a handwritten note "WRONG INSURANCE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US. WE ARE UNABLE TO BILL YOUR INSURANCE. THIS BILL IS THEREFORE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY". JOEN M. WILKINS later admitted to writing this note, which appeared to be rooted only in assumption. My insurance had been billed successfully for years, and had not changed and remained valid at the time of this encounter. A call to the Washington State Healthcare Authority confirmed my insurance had not changed and was active and valid. Upon hearing this, JOEN M. WILKINS said the State of Washington was wrong, without being able to provide any factual basis for her opinion. She appeared to be unable to own the mistake, and her reaction implied she's been conducting herself this way for a very, very long time. The State of Washington Healthcare Authority Official asked my daughter to take her phone into the office on speakerphone for JOEN M. WILKINS to hear the information from the State official directly. JOEN M. WILKENS locked her office door and refused to speak with the State Healthcare Authority Official on speakerphone, but her work husband (Doctor RAYMOND A. POWELL) did take the call and, after finally realizing that JOEN M. WILKENS had made a mistake, the Doctor promised to have the invoice re-billed. That never happened, and I was never refunded my cash payment that should have been re-billed to insurance. I sent a letter to the Doctor weeks later (translated to English) stating my concern that was never answered. I switched eye care providers after this experience and felt bad for other vulnerable elderly Medicaid patients who don't have a knowledgeable English speaking advocate to inquire on their behalf. During my years as a Burlington Eye Care patient, I observed the office staff turnover was excessive, and saw many capable and talented office staff leave (thank you to Melissa, Letty and Erin!, among many others). We encountered one former receptionist in the nearby Hagen parking lot in tears, who affirmed that JOEN M. WILKINS was the source of the perpetual staff turnover, and confirmed that JOEN M. WILKINS' relationship with the Doctor was like a marriage, wherein the Doctor protected her as if she was his spouse, and as long as one of them was working, the other wouldn't retire. That particular receptionist resigned sometime around 2018. I see a number of reviews here highlighting unpleasant patient encounters with staff, and I think spotlighting the decades-long relationship between JOEN M. WILKINS and RAYMOND A. POWELL will bring some closure to patients who had an unpleasant experience with the administrative side of the clinic, and were left wondering what kind of toxic dynamic allowed the dysfunction on the administrative side to continue. I see that the clinic is now closed, and wish the kind and knowledgeable Doctor good health and a peaceful and pleasant retirement.

Dr Reimers was thorough and listened to my concerns and addressed them all. We talked about some different options for contact lenses and ended up with a prescription that worked better than my previous one. The ordering process for new lenses was fairly easy, and although they didn't carry the particular prescription I needed in the store, the ordering process was quick and easy. Overall it was a quick and painless visit, with no issues to speak of.

I have no complaints., I have a little gripe about the extremely large parking lot. That's hard to park the car but other than that I've had no issues with the young girls in the store or the business in general. The young ladies in there seem to be very professional. The manager lady seems to be very nice.
