Both my husband and I trust this clinic. During our last appointments, Dr. Kristi Poe, was beyond thorough. She explained things in a way we could understand, answered all our questions and concerns , and made sure we were informed with the recommendations. Her technician is quite kind and compassionate . My last trip to the office for a product pick up, I was met with a beautiful smile from Mari. She assisted me in an order pick up and guided me with some questions I had. She was able to provide insight to who I need to contact regarding follow up. The other front desk personnel is amazing too. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name. She is definitely worth a shout out too! For giving me compliments that made my day! I left feeling happy and excited about the rest of the day thanks to her! I love the eye doctors there. But they have the rudest receptionist every time my husband and I come in she's rude to both of us. I just had to deal with her today and she was super rude. I have worked in customer service my whole life and I would not have a job if I treated people like she did. The eye doctors and other receptionist are wonderful. It would be a shame if I had to find another eye doctor because of their rude receptionist! read more

I called and set up an appointment and they told me the appointment time was for 3:30. I go, and because I'm very early (3:00) I stay in my car till 3:25. I go in and I'm told because I was late there weren't going to have time to do a complete exam including contracts. I'm penalized for their mistake! Won't go there! read more

My experience at Island Optometry Clinic has been stellar. I have been going there for eye exams and glasses for over four years and love the doctors and support staff. I've dropped in for emergency repairs when I've had problems with my glasses and have always been met with courteous and efficient care. Three visits, and not a working pair of glasses to show for it. Dr. Farnsworth was pleasant and sympathetic, and confirmed defective lenses after first remake attempt. (My prescription was subsequently verified using diagnostic glasses with interchangeable lenses.) Front office optometrist McBride, on the other hand, was surprisingly unpleasant and accusatory, ultimately handing me a printout of my prescription and saying, "Good luck with that." I couldn't believe how she'd disclaim responsibility for their product like that, especially given confirmation from the doctor that her own checking of the lenses was insufficient. I've never had any trouble getting glasses before, and certainly won't be returning to Island Optometry. "One bad apple...," as they say. read more
