Played in November on a late Saturday morning and we're talking $33/person including the cart. I will admit that the pace of play is a bit slower. Also battled some geese along the way. There's not a lot of hazards, fairways are a bit close together so you may so people in your fairway that are on the next hole. 7 par 4s and 2 par 3s (holes 6 & 7). You can see the flag on just about every hole. I believe it is hole 2 and 9 that are the only ones where you can't see the flag. It's a city course so don't expect all the bells and whistles. Gotta give a shout out to Sal. He keeps things fun as the starter, cracked a few jokes, and will give you some pointers. Plenty of parking on the lot. With that said, my review focuses on the grounds of the facility and not the actual course and/or staff. My biggest reason for giving the golf course three stars was the parking lot. The gravel covered lot was absolutely horrible! It was hard to drive on and they had piles of the same gravel throughout, further limiting the already limited parking. My friend basically had to park on a gravel pile with the front of her truck partially in the street. They really should do a better job with this lot. As for the grounds, they were beautiful. The lawn was very well maintained. The grounds were free of trash or any other debris. It's is a shame that the parking lot didn't get the same care. As for the soca for breakfast event, it was wonderful. I would definitely consider coming back for other events at the golf course. Hopefully, the issues with the parking lot will be resolved before then.

Given that this was catering for a large event and that it had to travel a ways before we ate it, I was impressed. The cheese, crackers and nut plate was good but I would recommend sticking with the crostini and not including crackers for the to go option since the crackers were soggy by the time we got to them. The raw bar plate was delicious with fresh tasty shrimp and crab claws with fresh lemon, or the option to dip in one of two cocktail sauces. The potato salad was good if you like heavy olive flavor. Not my favorite. The chilled tenderloin was quite good and a big hit with one of my daughters who is a meat lover. The asparagus it came with was well cooked and flavorful and despite being thick was not tough even at the base. The potatoes were relatively plain and unexciting. The star of the show was the crab cakes which required reheating but were well worth it. Big chunks of crab meat with relatively little filler and a delicious remoulade. The dessert selection was unimpressive. They looked nice but were fairly bland. If they can do this well with catering I would imagine the dine in experience would be even better for those lucky enough to be invited.

Watching Jordan Spieth rack up those major championship wins (2015 Masters, 2015 US Open, 2017 British Open) and looking good while doing so in Under Armour gear was apparently enough to get me to buy new Under Armour gear for myself. Under Armour's golf apparel looks great on TV. Some people might like the Rickie Fowler look (Puma), the Dustin Johnson look (Adidas), or the Jason Day or Rory McIlroy look (Nike). I've always preferred the scripted outfits Under Armour designed for Spieth. I love my new golf shorts and golf belt from Under Armour. I actually already owned an Under Armour golf shirt before Under Armour hit it big with Spieth. I found it on a discount rack at Doral. Admittedly, I haven't been too impressed with it. It's a pretty ordinary shirt, but I think Under Armour's designs have improved over the years. I got a pair of Under Armour's Showdown tapered shorts in "Academy" color (navy) for $65 and Showdown vented tapered shorts in zinc gray (a light gray) for $70. I ordered these from Under Armour's website where, at the time, shipping was free for any order over $60. I was charged $8.10 in taxes. I ordered my shorts on a Monday afternoon and they were in my hands in just two days. The shorts fit almost perfectly. They feel and look great. If anything, they might be a tad too long, but I read the opposite from customer reviews on Under Armour's website (several customers thought the shorts were too short). Both shorts have an 11-inch inseam. I'm going to take one of the pairs to my tailor and get them shortened a bit to see how they look/feel. Note I'm a short person (5-6 to 5-7). The description for these shorts on Under Armour's website is funny: "Built for the next era of golfers, these shorts were made to flex with your body with any movement you make. We used a high-performance, mobile fabric, a stretch waistband, and a new streamlined fit to reduce drag on every swing and unlock total mobility on the course." Under the Product DNA section, I found these two bullet points to be true: * "Material wicks sweat & dries really fast" * "Stretch-engineered waistband for superior mobility & insane comfort" The shorts are so comfortable, I could go to sleep in them. They just feel really soft and nice. One thing that Under Armour's website did not explain is the difference between the regular Showdown shorts and the vented Showdown shorts. One of the reasons I ordered one of each kind was to see what the difference would be. It turns out the vented shorts have tiny holes in them which are better for when the weather is hot. They're super breathable. However, the regular shorts look nicer and a bit more refined. In the end, you can't go wrong with either option. I liked my men's UA Showdown tapered shorts (non-vented) in navy so much that I later also purchased a pair in white. They cost $68.90 after tax with free shipping ($65 for the shorts + $3.90 in taxes). I noticed after less than a half-dozen wears and washes, the threading on the back right pocket of the white shorts started coming loose. That was disappointing given the amount I spent on the shorts. Admittedly, I saw no improvement in my golf game from wearing my new Under Armour golf shorts, so I took it one step further. I bought a Webbing Belt 2.0. I was hoping this was the final piece of the puzzle. The Under Armour belt would lock in my Under Armour shirt and shorts to unlock my complete swing dynamics. Since $60 was the purchase minimum on Under Armour's website for free shipping, I looked to see if I could buy the belt elsewhere. Amazon had the exact same belt for the exact same price ($20) with free Prime shipping, so I ordered the belt through Amazon. It arrived in three days. I had to pay $1.20 in taxes. The belt looks great and fits perfectly. It fits perfectly because it's a belt that you cut to size yourself so it ends up being a custom-fit belt. I had trouble opening the clasp on the back. Under Armour provided no instructions on how to open it so I ended up finding a YouTube video that showed me how to do it: https://youtu.be/WQHiOAumz10. I had to use a screwdriver and in the process, ended up scratching the back of the buckle. Fortunately, the damage is not visible when the belt is worn normally. The belt is reversible so it's almost like I got two belts for the price of one. One side is white while the other is gray. Finally, I purchased a pair of UA Performance SL Leather golf shoes for $119.77 after taxes and shipping. The shoes were tight and uncomfortable, especially in the toe area. I ended up returning them. Skechers are way more comfortable. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchases from Under Armour. Even at full price, I think the prices are fair. I think the quality is worth it, for the most part. I'm sure I'll be buying more Under Armour golf gear in the future.

Not simply because he was running late, but because the house (castle/waiting room/party room) was absolutely filthy. I was really taken aback by a business looking like this, even if it's a business that works w/ animals. When we got there, the owner and assistant were on a ride w/ another group. Then the group we were supposed to be riding with were an hour late, so we had to wait for them. It was just annoying, although Steven (owner) was friendly. When we walked into the empty house it looked like a construction space, a hen was walking around the inside and I even saw it poop IN THE KITCHEN! Things finally turned around when I hopped on Sherman (my white horse w/ black spots). He was a greedy little thing and ate up all the grass but he was a great horse. Steven immediately put ppl on the horses and taught us while we were riding. He was a straight to it teacher and I liked that. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to animals. He took a bunch of pictures and videos and sent them to everyone in the group. I'm thankful to have such awesome pictures that didn't cost us extra. Our priorities were all about gathering our people and Brandi helped us with seating charts and the flow of the day so we could spend as much time with our favorite people on our wedding day. She's more than just an amazing planner, she's also an amazing human. As a wedding photographer in my full-time career, I have also worked hands-on with Brandi and her entire team at other weddings from LondonTown to the Westin. She is a pivotal reason to why the wedding day flows so effortlessly. She is stealth and always appears when you need her. With so many Wedding Planner services in the DMV, I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Charming Grace Events. This review is coming from a Naval Officer with 12+ years in the Navy, and someone that is familiar with the wedding industry having my own wedding videography company. I say this, because I'm not just some "angry" social media person writing a negative review because I'm disappointed with the service I received, but rather to provide credibility to those that reads this review and provide awareness to those wanting a smooth wedding planning experience. We signed a contract for FULL SERVICE Wedding Planning Services for $6,000. She did provide us with a 10% military discount, even after we had signed the contract which was very nice of her. We paid a $1,200 retainer agreement. However, our experience was overall POOR as Brandi presented us with limited options, and expects you to sign whatever she presents to you. Brandi QUIT after we asked for multiple quotes from vendors, and kept the retainer citing: "Between the questionnaire from your initial consult, to the design board, I created based on those conversations, I do not feel that things are realistically matching up." Using the blurb in the contract: "may be terminated at any time by either the Client or the Consultant for such reason as, but not solely limited to: dissatisfaction, inability to maintain a civil Client/Consultant relationship, personality differences, etc. The liability is then limited to those funds already paid and received." She never tried to sync up with us to verify if things were realistically not matching up. She delayed things by not responding to our emails, then responding to our emails that she is busy and will respond later to our emails, to eventually flat out quitting. Here's more of the backstory: Brandi was certainly delightful to work with in the beginning. She was charming, and full of life. She came off as very organized, and delightful to work with us and meeting our wedding planning needs. We on our own found the photographer, videographer, DJ, and venue. My fiance still wanted to have a full-service planner for piece of mind. We do well for ourselves, and was by no means trying to find a low budget wedding. However, we are smart with our money, and seek to find optimal value in a business market that can be plagued with over inflated pricing, especially if you aren't familiar with the industry. The trouble began of when I started poking at what we were getting with Charming Grace Events. I'll start off by saying when I would text Brandi, she never responded. When I would email Brandi, she took 3+ days to respond. When my fiance would receive quotes from Brandi, I did some digging. My fiance informed Brandi that we would like to have catering around $15,000. What she presented to us were 2 caterers over $21,000 and that's before taxes and gratuity. I find it very hard to believe that in the entire DMV, there aren't caterers for the budget range we were looking for. Nonetheless, I called the caterer myself, and was able to work the price down without sacrificing food options or quality by about $3-4k, basically through getting a greater discount and optimizing staffing. This should've been Brandi's job, not mine. We received 1 quote for a florists. $5500, of which 30% was for a delivery, design, and setup fee. We asked for another quote. Never got one. I did some digging and found a florist with high ratings for about 25% cheaper. We were VERY, VERY appreciative and friendly in our emails. We even said if she is receiving a commission on her "preferred vendors" that is fine, but we would like to receive MULTIPLE options - not just ONE, or TWO. She will probably that she provided the following services: You stated you provided the following services: Venue research and scheduled tours Booking your venue/Choosing wedding date Aisle Planner Account - wedding management program Customized wedding design board Catering & florist research and proposals 1 in person meeting to discuss overall vision 1. We had already found our venue when we reached out to her. 2. She provided us with 2 Catering proposals, and 1 Florist proposals. All of which were extremely overpriced. 3. She did meet with us in person to discuss overall vision. 4. The other stuff was partially used. In summary, Brandi quit and stole our $1,200 retainer more than likely because we asked her to do her job. Yes, we tried to find some lower price options, but by no means nothing unreasonable. Like I said, we have no problem paying for a really good wedding that my fiance and I both want. What we have a problem is OVERPAYING because we didn't do our homework, or in this case overpay because our wedding planner just not to do hers.
