Forced to stay here one night. Was staying in the Hickory Hills Motel (see review for that one,…read moreliked it) but had to move because they didn't have a room for another night. Room was dark and dingy. Couch was gross and had stains, I put a sheet on it before we sat down. Was going to take a shower but decided against it when I opened the shower door, it looked awful. Screen door was broken in more than one way. My 12 year old son sat outside because it smelled "like old people". Wifi is really weak and kicks you off constantly. We were direct above the router and it didn't help.

Plus it was only 25 minutes to La Crosse. But two drawbacks made me rate this as just average. First, you are RIGHT NEXT to a major rail line. Most days at least 50 trains a day go by with horn a'blowing. No exaggeration. In truth, very quickly I got used to it and they didn't bother me or my sleep. But that may not be true for others Second. The cabins are very small. Our two bedroom cabin had two very small bedrooms separated by a curtain. One room had a TV but no place to sit and watch it. And the bedroom alignment made it impossible to comfortably watch it from bed. But my main issue was the living area. The small kitchen and a small kitchen table and cabin entrance were it. No room for a sofa or easy chair from which to gaze out through the picture window to the river. You could sit on the pleasant porch as long as it's not too hot or the bugs don't drive you indoors. If you want the cabin just for eating and sleeping and then you leave for the rest of the day, this cabin is okay. But, if like me, you like to read and watch the river through the big window, not so much.

Needed a new belt and they have lots of different styles of military belts to choose from. All in all it's just a very nice store with very nice people running it.
