Well! I stopped in today 7/26/23 around 6 pm. Apparently I was invisible in a bright pink shirt…read morewondering around trying to decide which bulb to purchase for my Honda civic brake light. Since NO ONE was going to ask if I need any help. I finally ask Taylor for some help. Obviously he wasn't thrilled since he was standing next to the shelves eating pizza. After looking around he picks out the bulbs I need & I pay for them. Naturally I have questions as to how to change it out. Taylor tells me to look on YouTube because there are literally millions of videos which will show me how to do it myself. I asked if I need any tools ? He says no. I'm thinking ok! Because I sure don't want to get a ticket since I don't know how to change out a bulb for my brakes. And gee Mr auto parts store clerk! I get it. I'm taking you from your pizza but could you do better than that ? Welp I go outside & grab my owners manual & I start trying to pull the holder for the bulb. I look in my manual & it states I need a different size. Back into the auto parts store & this time a guy with blond curly hair looks it up but assures me it's the right bulb. I suppose I should not ever refer to the owners manual because these two geniuses are sure not going be more forthcoming. Do I need to mention that it's 101out there? In Texas ? No? Ok. After being unsuccessful trying to remove the other bulb, I decide to drive home. At this point I was hoping a cop would pull me over because I was going to ask him for help. Because gosh darn it all, O'reillys sure doesn't go above & beyond to help any customers. All I can say is that in the past I've had really nice people assist me. Clearly it was my fault I went to O'Reillys. Guess where I'll go the next time I need something ??? Damn shame! I've used O'Reillys since they were Hi/Lo in the late 90's. Awful customer service. I was very surprised. Wonder if they would let their mom/wife/sister etc drive around with a burn out brake light ??? Because guess what? I do not have family & I had just left Physical Therapy this afternoon at Baylor Scott & White so the last thing I needed was such indifference. At least at a convenient store buying a bottle of Gatorade I get greeted and told to have a nice day. Imagine my surprise when I read that they can in fact install a simple brake light bulb. Hmmm Must be nice but the store located in College Station on hwy 6 is NOT the place to go to if you need assistance. Never again !

Back home I always choose AutoZone over O'Reilly's…read more Several weeks ago I was visiting my parents and we were working on my dad's truck. We needed a few parts so we went to several AutoZone locations first. While we were able to get several parts without issue, we couldn't even place an order for another part we needed and didn't get much help at either location we visited. While running some other errands I suggested we cover all our bases and check out O'Reilly's before changing our plan of action. This one was nearby so we stopped in right before 11am. When we entered there were maybe 4 or 5 young employees all helping someone- fairly busy for a weekday. The manager finished up with the person he was helping first, so we went to talk to him at the counter. Unfortunately, I didn't get the managers name, but I wish I did, he alone was worth the trip here. He was both knowledgeable and helpful. Not only did the manager have a great suggestion to bypass getting the part, he even pulled up another company's website for what we were looking for. It was a company my father had used before, so he was pleased with the suggestion as well. Not a lot of businesses like this will think outside the box for other solutions, nor risk losing money by recommending someone else. The managers also helped us find the remaining items we were looking for while simultaneously overseeing his employees consultations. I was very impressed! By mid afternoon the truck was up and running and we were on to the next thing. I really wish I could give the manager the appropriate recognition with a proper shout out, but I'll definitely be returning HERE when I'm in College Station and have an automotive need.

Jack's Stereo - Do they want to truck to burn to the ground?

Yet provides a high level of service and attention. Old couches made up the "waiting room" and a dying projection big screen was playing Knight and Day on a DVD. Brilliant. I'd made an appointment for tinting, I kept in touch with the shop as the appointment got closer to make sure everything was all good for the appointment (which was also my lunch hour) and the gent asked me if I could come more towards the later half of the appointment, which was fine by me. It pays to ask. As far as tint...they used 3M film that's warranted nationwide (and legal in Texas). It was applied to two windows in under an hour. That was enough time to walk over and get Jimmy Johns and watch Tom Cruise play the hero to a slightly taller Cameron Diaz. It looks great on my car and if it ever stops looking great, they tell me they'll fix it...and I believe it. I know I'll be doing some shopping for electronics in the near future, and I'll start at Jacks...you should too.

They have a IDGAF attitude. You might get a fake friendliness if they think you're going to buy something. Unprofessional. No customer service. And terrible work that will fail. Do you really want people cutting and drilling into your car with thier reputation and reviews? Imagine them messing up your on board computer and suddenly your car won't start and you have to get it towed to a dealership and spend $1000 to get it fixed assuming they didn't burn up the computer with the wiring (then that's REALLY going to cost you!) I grew up here. There hasn't been a good car audio shop in this town for years. Better to check out somewhere in the Woodlands area or maybe Austin.

I've returned things before and the staff was extremely rude about it. Between myself and my father a we do a significant amount of business there. I recently spent almost 2k in parts alone on a project between a few different stores. I know I spent around 800 on the one here. Most recently I called in to order a part. They called back to say they couldn't find it at the store they were going to have to have it delivered from. When I asked if they could get it from any place else, they said no. A few extra days wait ? No big deal to me. Still a no. Will you ever be able to order the part you very clearly sell without demanding I buy the over priced 3 times the cost same thing ? Nope. After stating that it's funny that more than one store in about a 100 mile radius carries it I heard the dial tone. I can see online it's in stock in a few different stores of theirs. I don't hate Advanced. I just hate the way this store is ran. Telling me there is no solution is a pretty great way to guarantee that at least in this town, I'll constantly be taking my business elsewhere. - come to find out Amazon is a great place to find some things. In this case it was actually quite a bit cheaper. Win win I guess ?

Stuff like jacks and tools are there, but barely better represented than at the Univ. Dr. O'Reilly store. I once tried to find a lug-nut for my car (its not a damned Hispano-Suiza; its a friggin' Toyota!), and ended up having to drive all the way to Hwy 21 & Gordon's Truck & Auto Salvage. Another time I needed engine mounts, which I knew they wouldn't stock. They had some problem with their software and the serial #s of the required parts. First they told me the two different mounts were the same price. Then they called back, a day and a half later, telling me they could only order on of the two, and that I'd have to order the other at the dealership. I decided to do both at the dealer, before the story, or their hapless supply pipeline change again.

The stock sometimes can be very limited: e.g. a few months ago, they didn't have the windshield wipers of several different sizes in their typical brand: Rain-X. Yesterday, out of 4 different types of jump-cables they had only 1, and that was the most expensive. But, it's a good store overall, and the employees had been friendly. However, yesterday, I was shocked. I came to the store about 8:45 to buy jump-cables. When I came out of the store, I couldn't start the car, so I came back into the store, and asked them to give my car a jump-start (I know, they have a special station for that, it's well visible right behind the counter). At that point one of the two employees was slowly rearranging things on the shelf, while the other, more senior was helping a customer at the register. The first employee said that he had to ask the other one. The second said: "No, not today, we will be closing soon." Huh? I should camp out on their parking lot until tomorrow? Fortunately, the customer who just had paid for his purchase has kindly agreed to help. It's the first time I've seen that employee and I hope he won't work at this store for much longer.
