After spending $2,500+ buying gear for an adventure motorcycle trip in Iceland with my son, this company cancels my order and emails me to call customer service. See below. I missed the email because I was out of the country when I made the purchase and didn't notice the email among the mountain of spam I receive. Did they take 30 seconds to pick up the phone and call me? No they did not. Rather, they spent even more time penning me a cancellation email. This lazy, arrogant company had the gall to cancel my order and require me to call them. Sales must be really great to be this arrogant. I ordered a pair of boots one size up from what I would ordinarily wear. Wanted to be sure they fit. Boots were still to small. I could not even get them on much less wear them. Motorcycle Closeouts must know there is a sizing problem as others are having the same issue. I returned the boots and they only gave me a partial refund. It cost me $41.50 for return shipping back. Overall Im out almost $65.00 for a pair of boots that I don't even have. Motorcycle Closeouts did not even try to help even after I offered to exchange for 2 sizes up. I won't buy from them again. I returned some pants that came with a torn seam before my. The pants were never tried on and all tags were intact. I asked for a return and they sent me a postage label. Then many weeks later they sent me the pants back, repaired after I told them I just wanted my money back. Then they refused to pay for shipping on the return and stopped answering my emails. First, WOW. This is such a deal! Being from California I was really hesitant in purchasing an item from here based on the reviews I read. I don't understand why these "low star" reviews are the way they are. Their policies give you clear information on what will happen if you return or receive a damage package, etc. If you know what you want and know the exact size you are, there shouldn't be an issue with purchasing from this business. Buyer BEWARE!! You may not cancel an order once you place it with these guys.. Just remember that. I waited 5 days and found that they still had not shipped anything, so I called to cancel my order. They told me they can't cancel an order. I had to go through my credit card company to reverse the charge. Just make sure that you are OK with waiting an unknown amount of time and also that you can not cancel. (At least that's what they tell you) I would have considered purchasing other things from them in the future but their attitude is unbelievable. Look at the other reviews as well... Their Rebuttal is laughable. I am a very slim size 8, when I tell clerks at Nordstrom that I am a size 8, they say, "Why?" and bring me a size 4 or 2. So the BS that I wouldn't fit in a size 8 is ridiculous. The item was miss-sized, which is probably why it was acquired by Motorcycle Closeouts. They wouldn't take responsibility for the issue then, and were still in denial when they wrote the rebuttal. In a nutshell: Choose an online store that offers free returns and no "re-stocking fees" for sizing exchanges and guarantees price matching! This store offers none of the traditional on-line shopping amenities. I returned an Olympia jacket that did not fit and got hit with the "re-stocking fee" even though I only tried it on once because it was too short. I also had to pay for return shipping. I found another jacket on their website BUT it was priced $80.00 more than other websites offered the same jacket. Their "Price Match" policy is about as good as their return policy. It took many calls and emails to the very obstinate customer service rep. for over a week and a half to get them to change the price on a discontinued jacket. read more

I received a 6 year old Arai when I ordered one of the Arai "Honda Goldwing" edition helmets from them. The helmet didn't fit me, so I was going to return it anyhow, but I was shocked at how old it was, knowing the policy from Arai about retiring old helmets. I sent it back on my dime. They said that I removed the DOT sticker and are now sending it back to me. Is this a ploy that they use, so that they don't have to return your item!? Has this happened to anyone else? I ordered a new shield for my helmet. i search a lot of sites using the google search engine. I came across this website and out of the sites i searched this company out beat the others by like $10.00. So I decided to buy the shield from there in the dark smoke. The site said would take 7 to 10 days to receive which was acceptable for me. When i checked the tracking i was surprised to see i was going to get the item within 4 days. I ordered a helmet, it took over the stated time to arrive, the box inside the shipping box was damaged meaning they sent out a damaged box inside of a non damaged container, then it took three days for them to respond to my email. I hesitated to purchase from this place, with all the bad Yelp reviews. However, I read them all and it seemed that the problems occurred with people who had to return items, and didn't like their return policy. I wanted a Shoei GT-Air, and since I knew the style and size, and I was pretty certain I wouldn't need to return it, I took a chance. The transaction was straightforward, and I received a "shipping label printed" notice from UPS the next day. I always worry a bit when I get a notice like that, because sometimes there can be a big delay before the box actually moves, but in this case the tracking number updated the next day with progress, and I received my helmet two days later. The helmet was double boxed (good), but there was no packing material between the boxes (bad), and therefore if damage had occurred, UPS would have refused insurance. I deducted one star for this. *edit* The seller contacted me, and I forgot that UPS would only require the extra padding for heavy shipments. Still, I would have liked to have seen some. However, the inner box was in perfect condition, the helmet was brand new with all accessories included (so far as I know), and I am very pleased. It didn't look like a blem or something that had sat on a shelf for ages, it looked like something fresh from the factory. I have an Internet business of my own, so I have some sympathy for the seller. In order to get the prices down low, you can't have a generous return policy and the sort of A+ customer service that other sites provide. They provide those things by charging higher prices! If you know what you want, including the style, size & etc, and there is little risk of you needing to return an item, then go for it. Absolutely love this place! I went in to look at new helmets because the one I purchased there before is about 5 years old. Nothing wrong with the shell, never been dropped or anything, but it's just getting older. None of the new ones have the same features as the Bell RS-1 that I have... Long story short, the owner GAVE me the pad inserts to "rebuild" this one. It fits like brand new again. Their customer service after the sale, even if it's been awhile, is second to none! I ordered a FOX Helmet for my daughter from motorcycle closeout. After measuring her head per the instructions on the FOX website I found that the size I was going to need was a "small". I ordered her the Fox helmet and several other pieces of protective gear from Motorcycle Closeouts. 2 weeks later everything did arrive as discribed in one big box. The helmet box was a little beat up but there is a helmet inside and id expect that it should be able to handle anything the mailman throws at it (not big deal I thought). When I tried to put it on my daughters head it would not fit. She never wore it. No one ever wore it. I made a mistake and orderd a youth small instead of an adult small (I didnt realize Fox had small and youth small). I called motorcycle closeouts the same day it arrived to me and they told me I could send it back and they would either charge me a $10 re-stocking fee and return the difference to my card or give me all of my money back as store credit. I still needed a helmet for my daughter so my plan was to return the helmet and use the credit to order my daughter a helmet that would fit her. I placed the helmet back in the box excatly how I had gotten it out. Then I paid $20 to mail the helmet back to Motorcycle Closeout. They put a "return to sender" sticker on the box and sent it back. I called them to ask why and they said they would have someone call me back. No one called me back but I did get an email later that night saying "Regarding your call for RA57652, the return was refused because it was shipped in a condition that will not allow us to sell the helmet to another customer. Our policies state: Helmet Returns: Helmets require special care when shipping. Helmets must be inside their protective bag, shield closed, right-side-up in the manufacturer's box with any and all supplied protective shipping material, including shield protector. The manufacturer's box should then be placed inside a proper shipping box with protective padding, foam peanuts or packing paper to ensure a snug, secure fit. Helmets returned damaged or scuffed will be refused. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Shipping and handling charges are never refunded or credited, unless we shipped the wrong item. Then they lured me into getting store credit so I didn't have to lose more money on stocking fees. Next I bought another helmet, which came with a visor broken out of the box, customer care responses too many days. And they wanted to send me a replacement pin so I could fix the helmet myself. I'm not one to write negative reviews, but I'd like to share my frustrating experience with this company. I ordered over $300 worth of stuff on Sunday night at 10:30pm (Hawaii time) which cost me $30 in shipping because I live in Hawaii. I then called on Monday morning at 9:30am (Hawaii time) to add over $100 worth of gear to my order, but was told they couldn't add the merchandise to my Sunday night order because it was already in the "shipping department". So, because the gear is for father's day, I ended up ordering the extra gear, which cost me another $30 in shipping alone... Now, FOUR days later and I JUST received a shipping confirmation from USPS that my Sunday night order has finally shipped. I just called again to get clarification on why I had to pay $60 in shipping if my order didn't ship until just now... The lady I spoke with was rude and unsympathetic. And in talking with her, she told me that the item wont show up for 1-2 weeks (defeating my father's day gift, but whatever), and that my Monday morning order wont ship till sometime next week! I tried to cancel the order, but because its in the "shipping department" they "cant". So frustrated! Between the ridiculous shipping costs, the length of shipping time, the unwillingness to help bundle my orders, the delayed shipping dates and the rude customer service, I will never shop with MC again. I ordered an AGV helmet size L. All my helmets are L including 2 AGV I had in the past. This particular model fits small so the L wont fit me. I contacted the customer service to exchange for an XL but they say it's out of stock for the next 5 weeks, so I asked for refund and they said for refund they charge 10% fee. I tried to explain that I just wanted the right size and they could not provide me, they didn't care either I wait 5 weeks or loose 10%. I too had a negative experience with this company. If you do choose to buy from them, make doubley sure that you want the item so you won't have to return it and that you are in no hurry to recieve it. I purchased three pair of pants as gifts. My order took so long that I had to buy the pants in a store elsewhere as the event was long over by the time I received their package. When I went to return the pants, I asked that they waive the restocking fee and that they pay to have it shipped back as the shipping took so long I couldn't use the items shipped. Not only did they refuse to do either, but proceeded to tell me that my package arrived within their time frame when it wasn't even close. So, not only did they show poor customer service, they felt the need to go into an argument about timing. I have never heard of an online company charging a restocking fee and most will pay for the return shipping, especially if the problem was on their end. Not these guys. By the time it's all said and done I am looking at close to $40 to return an item. Not okay in my book. You can be sure that I won't be doing business with them anytime ever. read more

My experience with Motorcycle Closeouts was fantastic. Bought a $670 helmet for $325. It showed up within a week of ordering and packaged perfectly. When I ordered it I was advised that the helmet was being transferred to their facility and that expedited shipping timelines would not apply. I appreciated the heads up. All literature etc was present and the helmet undamaged. It was clearly never opened and repackaged. The manufacture date was within spec and I'll get my 5 years out of this lid. Oddly enough I can't say the same for the last helmet I ordered from a popular and "reputable" internet vendor. Needless to say I will purchase from Motorcycle Closeouts again.
