I can't say enough! I procrastinated taking any course from anyone because of my anxiety and fear…read more I have zero motorcycle/dirt bike experience. The coaches made me feel safe, they helped me get out of my head, they kept us hydrated and checked on us physically and mentally. (The summer course wasn't impossible buuuuuut I do wish I had done it in cooler weather but that's not their fault, it's hot in the south). I even impressed myself with my abilities by the end of the weekend. The coaches (Angel, Mat and Joe) all kept us laughing through the heat and fear but also pushed us and gave us very non judgmental and valid feedback/adjustments. They are so good at telling you what will make you perform better and ALSO showing you how to do it until you do get it. They WANT you to pass and it shows. The environment they created makes me now eager to learn more and considering my options at future training. Who knew a state required class at the right place with the right people could make me totally change my perspective on the culture too? 15/10 recommend. I even had my son certified with them (he's 19) and the staff were excellent mentors for him as well. plus the whole track area is really cool and it makes us wanna rush back to do the go carting. Im also blown away that they took someone like me who won't even ride a bicycle with no hands and made me able to ride a 400cc motorcycle! I feel so good about myself and am proud to have completed and it's all because of how they teach.

From learning to to start the bike, to riders looking to lower their lap times, Nola Riding Academy is there to help. My experience with Nola Riding Academy has been superb, and it has helped me tremendously. I went in eager to improve my technique to start decreasing my lap times, and Clint greatly helped me. I went for my second time the other day, and again had a fantastic experience. One thing that particularly stood out was the amount of track time I got for the low cost. For a cost that's a fraction of a track day of most tracks, I was able to ride at my leisure for four hours. I'm very excited to go back again!

Don't let the fear of failure discourage you from taking this course because there is much to gain regardless! Also, don't be intimidated by the Harley-Davidson brand; the staff are all super friendly and helpful!! The beginner's course is about $100 on weekdays and $200 on weekends. They're both 3-day courses (nearly all day each day) with day 1 in the classroom, day 2 on the range with hands-on practical skills training, and the last day reserved for the exams (written and practical skills). The time commitment is real, but it's very much worth it. If you pass the class, you will receive a certificate which will allow you to bypass the skills portion of the test at the DMV when you're seeking licensing. It also grants you discounts with your bike insurance! As someone who has never ridden a motorcycle (or even a dirt bike!), I had a lot to learn through this course. It's taught exactly for people like me with absolutely zero knowledge or experience with motorcycles. The instructor will go through every part of the handbook with you and clarify anything you may not understand. The handbook covers motorcycle operation, road safety, proper attire, and much more. Even if you are an experienced rider, I highly recommend taking this course anyway. You will absolutely benefit by learning new statistics, fine-tuning your riding skills, and gaining potentially new information about road safety and the specific kinds of awareness you should have as a bike rider. I have been driving a car for years, but I learned that the extra mindfulness you need to safely ride a motorcycle was on another level. Even while driving a car, I feel as though I have benefitted from the lessons. The instructors are thorough, friendly, and caring. However, that doesn't mean you'll breeze through it (especially if you're a new rider). They will spend extra time with you if needed, as time allows, but they need to stay on schedule for the sake of other students. I found the second day of hands-on learning to be challenging. As mentioned, I have no experience on a motorcycle at all. Plus, I am short in stature, which may have been a disadvantage, if not physically, at least for my confidence. I made it through about 80% of the practical lessons before I hit my plateau and couldn't keep up with the advancement in skills. At that point, I couldn't meet the objectives to move on to the next lesson, so I failed this course, but I do not regret taking this class at all. This was a perfect introduction to motorcycles and I know I need more practice. I plan to take it again a second time, and I feel I could probably pass next time! One thing to note, they never push you to buy their products while taking this course at all, so zero pressure to buy anything if you're not interested!
