Yelp* Milestone: 1,000th Review Bucket list: Motorcycle…read more(Check) Last month, I finally purchased a motorcycle, a 2018 Honda CB500X. After passing the M1 motorcycle class, in addition to the DMV written exam I wanted to have the bike looked over for any potential issues. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/johns-cycle-san-juan-capistrano?select=nz9WW35bIJUJSHqiP-134g My friend, DC, has been riding his Honda Rebel for almost two years. He helped me prepare for the M1 course with some practice time on his own bike. DC know's John personally and took his Honda Rebel here shortly after purchasing it. I haven't noticed any major issues with my bike... 'But what do I know about motorcycles? However, I did notice sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to shift into a higher gear; I mentioned it to John. Last Friday, 08/18, I finally was able to bring my bike to John's Cycle the other day. I dropped it off to have John do a thorough inspection of the motorcycle. I wanted him to inspect and look over the Honda and get a professional opinion. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/johns-cycle-san-juan-capistrano?select=hMPoAEwF_Ql7IAYC4peBNQ I received a call the following Monday that the motorcycle would be ready to pick up the next afternoon. Great! I arrived at his shop shorty after 12pm the next day. John discussed what he found while looking over the bike; overall minor issues. (Thumbs up) Since this was my first bike, I asked John all the basic questions mostly pertaining to regular maintenance. I also inquired about replacing the right cowling on the bike. The previous owner had dropped the motorcycle more than once, cracking the plastic fairing near the gas tank. John said that it's not a big deal but took the time anyway to look up the part and give me an idea of the cost. (Future project) Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/johns-cycle-san-juan-capistrano?select=iH0nyyqqJOzLJHRszvfLXQ I inquired about everything from oil changes, tire pressure, chain lube, to washing/cleaning the bike. John is a big believer in using "Spray Cleaner & Polish," to clean the bike versus washing it directly with water. This is the second time I've heard this belief. I was told the same thing from a sales rep at Cycle Gear in Lake Forest; noted. John showed me the particular brand he uses and then offered to sell me his last can. How cool is that? (John said that he just placed an order for more.) John is a down-to-earth, upfront guy and I'm very happy to have been introduced to him by my friend, DC. I asked John if I had any questions or concerns about my Honda if I could call him - "Sure, anytime." John cares about the work he does and will do a thorough job. John cleaned up the bike, the wind shield, rear view mirror, oil change, checked fluid levels, he even touched it up with a shot of paint on the alternator cover from when the previous owner dropped it. John also was able to re-secure the muffler shield that was rattling around due to a bad bolt. I had previously tried to tighten it up but the bolt was frozen. John had to replace the bolt due to thread issues. If you have a motorcycle or scooter and looking for a solid, trustworthy place to have your bike serviced, I highly recommend giving John's Cycle a call. - Big Aloha Food: n/a Ambiance: 3 (It's a motorcycle shop) Service: 5 Value: 5

Outstanding Service and Expertise!…read more I can't say enough great things about Moto Werkz and Tyler! As someone new to the motorcycle world, I was nervous about needing repairs on my Z650--but Tyler made the whole experience smooth, easy, and educational. He's incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and he took the time to explain everything in a way that made sense to me--not just seasoned riders. Tyler ordered all the necessary parts, kept me updated throughout the process, and even gave me honest advice about future maintenance, like when to consider new tires or my next oil change. He's upfront about any potential risks or wear, and his communication is excellent--always responsive and clear. I dropped my bike off on a Saturday and had it back by Tuesday, fully repaired, cleaned, and detailed. His attention to detail and customer service are top-notch. I never once felt talked down to for not knowing something--Tyler genuinely wants riders to understand and feel confident about their bikes. If you're looking for honest, fast, high-quality service from someone who truly cares, Tyler at Moto Werkz is the guy to go to. Highly recommended!
