This company was just fabulous to work with! I had them pack up my house because I was getting new floors. They took great care of my belongings and didn't compromise any of my belongings (overstuffing boxes or smashing things to fit) which some companies do. They came back when the floors were done and not only moved everything in, but made certain I was happy with placement and kept asking what else they could do. Any time I've used movers in the past, I've never been 100% satisfied because you're always going to be a bit more critical when someone else is moving your personal items. This was probably one of the better experiences I've had with a moving company. We already had everything boxed, wrapped if needed, and by the front door, so they were very quick in getting the items in the moving truck. Minimal damages to our belongings (a few scratches on our headboard), and took direction easily when we got to our new place and wanted items in different rooms. Super friendly movers. read more

We recently moved from the Northeast to Tennessee. We had a less than optimal experience with our moving company, and were looking for local movers to move a table that we had purchased on Facebook Marketplace. The lady that I purchased the table from suggested Motivated Movets. They called me back within 24 hours, booked me immediately for the next week, and even got in touch with me to move the table earlier in the day then I had expected. Great communication! The guys were courteous, and also helped me move some other furniture that needed be rearranged in order to accommodate the table, including moving a couch from one floor to the next. They worked quickly but when we got to the storage unit they put heavy boxes on my fragile furniture and I had to have them move it. That cost me $50 for each 15 minutes. They didn't have any organization skills. They put my mattress in last and now if I open the door it will fall out. And I can't get in and out of my storage unit. So it's a waste and will just have to sit there while I find someone else to move it again. If I had them fix it it would have cost me another hour. So Thier mistake aaa very costly to me overall. Title: Billing Issues Because of Wasted Mover Time and the Unnecessary Cleanup Required by the Customer I paid this company $350.00 for three movers to simply move items from my house to the street. This turned into, what I believe to be, an unnecessary and a money/time waste. I am not happy whatsoever with the customer service level of this company. The main, on-site representative stated that they normally do not move loose/dirty items. He took it upon himself, and apparently against company policy, to use a garden rake to rake and spread a mass of loose items down my driveway. Without even attempting to clean up his own mess on my premises, he stated that he could not continue because it was against company policy. He later lied to his management on the phone with me standing right next to him. Auston told his management that we told him to stop--this is not true. We were forced to clean up the mess that he made after he left. And, if he had cleaned up the mess, they would have charged me for the time--this is all preposterous. A day later, a company manager, told me that this rep's move of these items is against company policy. Then why did he proceed in raking the items down the driveway in the first place? And, why is management not questioning this? This guy just made a bigger mess. If this is the policy, then he should not have touched anything. And, management should have addressed this situation, which he and they did not. This company is charging me for this complete waste of time by the team that would have allowed this job to end 30 min sooner. His actions and mess even added 10 extra minutes to a refrigerator move because they could not take it down the drive. And, if he had cleaned up this mess, he would have charged me for that time. This company's management seems to believe that what he did with this situation was proper when this is some of the worst customer service and highly blatant overcharging for services that I have experienced. After I asked the 3-person moving team multiple times to move non-loose items that I required moving. I got to the point where I just wanted to pay to leave instead of them doing very little while still on the clock at $175 per hour. While on-site, they never communicated why they did not move these items! They wasted so much time with this confusion, and standing around, and charged me for it. The moving team wasted a ton of time with me having to ask them multiple times to move items including furniture and boxed items. They waited around several times and I had to walk them through the house multiple times pointing out the same items. A day later, management told me that they did not move some of these items because of company policy--why didn't they tell me that during the job instead of wasting my money/time? The other items were indeed inside the company policy and they should have moved them after having to tell them the first or second time and not the third. I was dealing with an eviction process on this, and I certainly did not need to deal with this! At this price, I expected a higher degree of service. Later the next day, management told me about policies that prevented them from moving items--Why didn't the moving team tell me this in the first place instead of wasting even more of my money!? Lastly, there was an issue with the payment. He called his manager. He was dishonest with the manager when he called him as I was standing right next to him and heard everything that was said. After discounting the bill by 15 minutes, I gave him the money and said bye. He said nothing and just stormed off like a baby. Is this the level of professionalism that I paid $175 per hour for? I disagree that most items that they would not move went against company policy. The manager, Jon, intentionally ignored my complaint and just closed it. I can assure you that my complaint is more than valid. I was not treated fairly by multiple employees of this company. I wish I would never have hired this company and I cannot recommend this company to absolutely anyone. read more

Things didn't start off great. I set up the appointment using a Groupon I'd bought. The movers didn't show up in the allotted two-hour window. I made a call (the appointment never made it to the schedule), but MM stepped up and got a crew to our house within an hour of my call. Mike and Mathew worked tirelessly for five hours to wrap, pack, move and place our furniture. They were fantastic and had great attitudes. The movers themselves were great guys but two of them showed up when I had ordered three for moving day, which took a LOT longer than it should have. These movers are a scam. They quote you one amount, and then only move a fraction of your items, leaving you with a mess you need to clean up and still needing additional movers. They did damage to my apartment doorframe which they refused to handle because I didn't report it correctly (was communicating at the time with the BBB since I had to get someone else to remove my things). My husband was mocked for "being poor" since almost $650 didn't move a lightly furnished two bedroom and we were upset that we had 50% of out things remaining to move. Manager calls are not recorded, so they are allowed to say or do anything they please. I suggest going with a company that accurately quotes and doesn't slow things down to run out the clock and charge you more. read more

I found this company on Yelp during my wife's and my move from San Francisco to Nashville and I was indeed pleased! The movers, Sam, Darion, and Eric arrived on the earlier side of their expected arrival window and they were all extremely friendly and professional. They moved out two PODS that we had moved across the country (a 16-footer and an 8-footer) all under 3 hours. They would've done this much faster, but I had a record collection of about 10,000 records and our apartment was quite a ways from the entrance of the complex. I highly recommend this company and definitely ask for these three movers--Sam, Darion, and Eric. They definitely made our move much less worrisome and we felt confident in their abilities. Wrist experience of my life with them. First time using a moving company and it completely sucked! When I called to book they said if anything was damaged they would replace it along with everything being covered under insurance. They damaged most of the edges on ALL the furniture from moving so fast. They also dropped a box full of a glass jar full of tide pods. (About $60 worth) everything broke. Called to see how I go about filling a claim to get it replaced and they said it's not covered because I packed the box. Complete joke. read more

I had a last minute change in my moving plans and had to quickly reschedule, The company I had booked with to help load my truck was not available so I had to scramble to find a truck. One company I called was not available, but they recommended Motivated Movers, which I am very glad they did. Their receptionist answered their phone on the first call and quickly got me scheduled for two days from the day I was calling for two movers to help me load my Penske truck. The movers arrived just a few minutes late but very quickly got to work. They worked at a pretty ferocious pace and seemed very positive about the job. They never once complained and never seemed to tire, despite moving quite a bit of furniture and 50+ boxes. I never saw them stop, slack off, or do anything other than focus on the job. They did not damage anything and took great care with wrapping the large furniture items. My rental company did not provide the moving pads and straps I requested, but Motivated Movers brought these things along with them and sold them to me at a fair price. They are a little more pricey than some of their competitors, but it is well worth it if you want your belongings treated well. They hustled and were very pleasant to speak with. I highly recommend them to anyone, although I can only speak to loading the truck, as I used different movers at my destination. read more

Motivated Movers helped me move on 11-12-20. They were friendly and efficient. HOWEVER! My apple MacBook laptop air did NOT make the move, and it is presumed stolen by these movers. My laptop case was packed in a box, which we opened the evening of the move, but to my dismay, the laptop did not make it into the case or the box. After 3 weeks, unpacking all the boxes, the laptop has still not turned up. The managers were dismissive of my complaint - they told me to file a report with the police, there was nothing they could do. And they stopped taking or returning my calls after the initial complaint. Because of this, I do not recommend you entrust your valuables with this moving company. read more

I messaged them via Yelp and I believe the owner messaged me back and got us on the books right away for the next day. They showed up with two guys one was a disgruntle employee that did not want to be there and then about an hour after they were there he left. After one of the guys(the one in charge) started to complain about how much he needed the day off to move out of his own place but his bosses wouldn't let him off adn how he was "just going to leave and find a new job." He left in the middle of the job after he broke a piece off a $5000 antique. Leaving 1 guy from the company that A. Didn't have phone and wasn't licensed to drive the truck. We had to call the company and tell them what was going on but they just didn't know what to say. They didn't say sorry. Jon (manager) said he would be over to help in an hour as if he was doing us a favor. So we sat and waited. Jon came and they unloaded what they had already loaded on the truck (leaving half of our stuff in the apartment still) now they say they have to leave to go finish another job and then come back. They come back and then all of the sudden the broken piece of furniture is "fixed" and they say "its good as new". After inspecting it I realize that Jon THE MANAGER took it upon himself to fix our antique! His idea of fixing was forcing 3 screws made for metal into the bottom of the wood to "appear" fixed. Now this beautiful piece is sitting slanted and not even at all and because screws were used on the soft antique wood instead of the proper equipment the wood split all the way up the piece of the furniture. What was a small repair turned into ruining the entire piece because the manager decided to handle things dishonestly instead of having some one qualified in antique repair handle his mistake. He tried to sweep it under the rug and that just won't do. I contacted Jon directly and he response was "I repaired it, I didn't put any new holes in it I just put screws where the finishing nails were" AND "We would be happy to see you in court" All things you really don't want to hear from someone in the service industry that you are paying to handle your nice things. I asked directly for their insurance information and they kept telling me no or we'll send it to your email. Even when I asked for the policy number over the phone they refused to provide me with that information. I even called a few of their other offices and asked for their insurance information and it seemed like this was a trained response to never give out their insurance information. Odd. I found this very strange for a moving company since they are paid $150/hour to handle peoples most valued possessions. I have worked with many moving companies and they have all broken something in the move. Motivated Movers is the first to ever try and cover up breaking something and the first to not supply their insurance information without me having to ask. I mean thats what insurance is for thats why you pay for it? UPDATE 9/13/16: After speaking to management and ownership I am even more unimpressed with this company than I originally was. Finally after I filed a complaint with the BBB I got someone to respond properly to me and direct me to their insurance provider. But Ben(Regional manger/partial owner) instead of offering apologies and wanting to make sure he preserves a customer, only offered excuses for his employees telling me that the employee that walked out in the middle of the job was his "best worker" and the manager that took it upon himself to "fix" a leg they broke off an antique as his most loyal and trustworthy employee and he does fixes things all the time. No "I'm sorry" or "this will never happen again" I only got "my employees did nothing wrong" and "Sometimes people say whatever it takes to get out of a situation." this was his real attempt at customer service!! What I gathered from my conversation with Ben was that he trains his employees to be just the way they represented themselves on our move. This company is dishonest and I would not trust them to move my trash can to the end of the driveway. If Jon or Ben had offered even the smallest amount of satisfactory customer service that you would expect from a company in the service industry this review and loss of a customer could have been avoided. read more

What: Local move plus packing. Good: Efficient movers (not packers) who were super nice hardworking guys. Flexible with changing plans. Gave an extra mover who was in training. All fragile small items (e.g. glasses) were very well-packed. Needs improvement: Ran 30' late past their two hour window and didn't start moving or packing for 30' after arrival (but charged from the time they drove up). Mediocre packers. Time estimates for packing were several hours off (and this is after they looked at everything). Packing is not their strength which equals more money for the customer. Broke TV stand but not covered since they have you sign a waiver stating they are not responsible for damage to all pressboard. Guy in training was really not very useful at packing and likely was the one who broke the TV stand. The other two had to repack boxes he packed and do most of the work themselves. Jon the manager was generally unfriendly and offered no apology for the broken piece of furniture (and certainly no money). Moving companies with 5-star customer service are typically apologetic and usually offer to pay some of the cost of your broken furniture even if it wasn't "officially" covered. Ultimately they still broke something which I will have to replace out of my own pocket. I have moved many times and they were middle of the road in care of my stuff. My previous movers wrapped much of my furniture carefully with plastic wrap and or blankets and nothing was even scratched. Not true with MM. Also even though I provided ~20 boxes for packing they didn't use them all preferring to use their own supplies which I was charged for. I was going to use them for a $6000 long distance move coming up but will not due to their mediocre care of my furniture & poor interaction with Jon. read more

The guys just left and they started at 8 am and went until 11 pm! I had a grand piano and very very heavy furniture! They really took the time and attention to wrap and pad everything extremely well. I have had bad experiences with other movers so this move I was quite anxious about but they made a stressful day as stress-free as possible. Most moving companies require an hourly rate plus extra fees such as travel time from their office to your home, gas, stairs, etc. I thought I was surely getting taken when the receptionist told me that they were only $130/hr and no hidden fees. Because my pickup location was within 20 miles of their office, there was no travel fee and the time started when they arrived to pickup and stopped when they left the drop off location. They moved all of my furniture out of my garage and into my 3rd floor apartment in 1.75 hours. They never took a break and were so careful with my things! I called before 9a.m. today after my movers backed out. They said they could not come until after 5pm at the earliest and that there would be a price increase because of high demand. First of all he hadn't even given me a quote or found out where I lived and already said he's going to charge me more than whatever he would've. I asked about the one hour service and that there is nothing on their website to indicate that they can't do things within an hour or that they have rate increases on high demand days. He could not respond to that I indicated that that is false advertising and that you should include everything on the website and the possibility of not being able to respond to a request even in two or three hours much less one hour and that rates increase at their discretion. read more

I move A LOT, just around Williamson County, but a lot. I have always used one of the "other" movers --one in particular. The last few moves have not gone well. Slow movers--just slow enough to rack up the time. Anyway, I was referred to Motivated Movers. They quoted the move for me ahead of time. The guys were fun and friendly and never stopped. Not only did they meet the quote, they beat it. They were a few hundred less than quoted. The next time I move, and I'm sure there will be a next time, I will definitely use them again. read more

Upon the movers arrival at my home, there was a strong odor of alcohol; there was smoking at the storage facility in a no smoking zone; my instructions/wishes were entirely disregarded; there was disrespect of the storage facility residents by scattering my things everywhere and in complete disarray in everyone's way; I had to rent another storage unit since there was a lack of organization; the negligence resulted in damaged/cracked/scratched/chipped furnishings. I was devastated they would not pad and plastic wrap my furniture as requested when I asked for this service specifically. I cannot access my things in storage which was communicated in the beginning. I was blind-sided by total disrespect when I paid for a service to have my things securely/safety stored for easy access. After speaking with MM we decided to use three mover with the company. The three that arrived were healthy (unlike our previous encounter with College Hunks) and mostly friendly. The only personality issue we had was the one charge took some time to warm up. However, the other two mover more than made up for that. Pros - They take care of your stuff. They make sure it is wrapped and they haul it properly. Once on the truck, they pack it so it does not get damaged. You heard me right, they take care of your stuff. I will say they are by far the best moving company we have ever used. Con - This really isn't a con but they do take their time but that is a good thing IMO. Because they take their time wrapping and properly packing, nothing was damaged. I would definitely use them again and I highly recommend them. Give the owner a chance to contact you. This is a local business and I don't think office work is their strong point but they are excellent movers. read more

I requested to sign a waiver to avoid having them wrap and pad all my furniture (as it is old) to avoid a higher hourly rate and they allowed me to do so. This was the best moving experience I could have hoped for. The truck and men not only showed up on time but early! They were ready to work and worked hard and efficiently. The men were super polite (and strong) and navigated the move a very large bed frame down a very narrow staircase and never complained. Wish We could have had a good experience as some of the reviews, the two guys we got drug their feet and took 5 hrs to load couch, recliner, coffee table, end table, TV stand, bed, chest, dresser, night stand, a desk, 2 sets of mattresses. gun case, tool box, small chest freezer, washer and dryer and boxes and drive it two miles and unload, plus the fact that they damaged the legs on dryer for dragging it and damages the dresser to my granddaughter bedroom suit, knocking a chunk out of bottom corner and the corner of the drawer and not even telling them or reporting it, it is only about a year old, my son has a telescope and they dropped the lens off of it and didn't even pick it up when he went back to clean the apartment he found it laying on the ground. So my opinion of them they were dishonest for not saying anything to my granddaughter about her dresser if my son had not heard them talking about it he would not have known. my granddaughter just wanted them out of house and didn't realize they did not have the damage to her dresser on the report she sign. When I called they ask for pictures of course I haven't heard anything back, since I sent him pictures. read more

Stay far away from Motivated Movers. I have moved 22 times and this was the worst experience ever. Horrible packers. Did not wrap furniture as I asked (and I had all my own moving blankets too). Did not break down furniture as I requested - so everything took more room than it should have. Basically - whatever I asked for was ignored. My couch and recliner are now ruined - since they did not pack them on their sides but instead they stacked them on top of each other with other furniture on top. Asked for 3 men, got a confirmation email that 3 men would be coming and they sent 2 - so something that should have taken 5 hours took 8 hours - costing me $200 more than it should have. I did contact John and he would only offer to fix two pieces they had broken - but only offering to repair themselves (I told the guys on moving day that the stuff was going into storage but I was leaving the state - so how can you fix it and get it back to me?) This was a horrible experience. A shame because I had been hoping they would be a good company I could use again when I came back for my stuff in a few months. But never again. read more
