I won't be able to go back to who I was 10 minutes ago before I ate that piece of poetry. The dill in the tuna complemented the salty and fish essence of said tuna, and brought refreshment not only to my mouth but to my soul and whole body in this monstrous heat. The lettuce was crunchy yet silky and the tomato was sweet and perfectly ripe yet still could hold its shape and didn't fall out at all. For how packed the sandwich was I was very impressed with how well it held up between the multi grain bread. I feel renewed and redeemed after eating that #4 tuna sandwhich. As I took my first bite, "oh yeah" but Steve lacy played in my car stereo, and instead of feeling like a chud loser for eating alone, I felt like a girl who was going to be okay- I saw light at the end of the tunnel, the wind felt cooler, I could see past the smog and the sky cleared up. It was as if God had intervened and blessed me with not only the best sandwich of my life but the hope that things will be okay and life is beautiful and whimsical. I will forever be changed. Sprouts deli didn't just serve me a sandwich, they served me hope. Eating that sandwich was the best 10 minutes of my life and probably the closest to heaven I will get while I'm here on earth. Thank you sprouts.

This Sprouts is conveniently located behind LAFitness, so I frequently stop by post-workout…read more I was intrigued by the $5 sushi deal on Wednesdays, but I'd really not recommend going out of your way for it. They're basically all just cucumber and rice. The ones with any fish seem to be priced at $6 and even then it's like the tiniest slivers of tuna. They have poke bowls as well, but something is seriously wrong with the seaweed salad in them. It's straight up gray, not green, and so I've been too scared to try one. There are managers specials frequently, as well as discounted prepared food often available in the late afternoon. I'm fond of the kale and apple salad, and there's a black garlic shrimp platter that is delicious as well. If you can catch them on sale, I'd definitely recommend picking them up! One thing that was super tragic is that they've discontinued so many of their refrigerated vegan products. I was happy to pick up a ton of vegan protein for cents on the dollar the one day I caught the massive clearance, but my stock is finally running low and I'm sad I won't be able to find a lot of the same stuff here anymore.

I stopped by Clark's Nutrition while I was in downtown Riverside and ended up spending much longer…read moreinside than I expected. From the outside, the historic De Anza building already gives the store more personality than the average health market, but the real surprise was how much they carry once you start walking through the aisles. I originally planned to look at a few supplements, then found myself browsing specialty groceries, frozen foods, teas, natural personal care products, sports nutrition, and several gluten free and vegan options. The selection feels carefully chosen, especially for people who read ingredient labels or need products that are difficult to find in regular supermarkets. The supplement area is large, so it can be slightly intimidating when you first see all the choices. Thankfully, the staff were friendly and actually willing to explain the differences between products. I appreciated that they did not make the interaction feel rushed or overly sales focused. After shopping, I had coffee with a hazelnut PROTABAR, which has become my favorite protein snack to pair with coffee. The whole hazelnuts, dates, quality egg white protein, and touch of cocoa give it a natural, earthy flavor without the artificial sweetness found in many protein bars. The hazelnut flavor works especially well with a warm cup of coffee. A few honest notes: downtown parking can take a little patience, some parts of the store feel compact, and certain specialty items are more expensive than what you might find at a conventional grocery store. I would also recommend allowing enough time to browse because this is not the easiest place to rush through. Overall, Clark's feels like a genuine Riverside institution rather than just another health food chain. I left with useful products, a few new discoveries, and a much better understanding of what I was buying. Definitely worth visiting if you care about nutrition, clean ingredients, or simply enjoy finding healthier products that are not available everywhere.

I had a relative with me who told her I consumed energy drinks often which was irrelevant as to why I was even there. I was getting the scan for more insight on an my unexplained chronic urinary problems that I've had for about a decade. Whether I drink energy drinks or not, my symptoms stay the same. I am well aware this is not the best health decision anyone can make but Serene looked at me as if my relative told her I was doing hard drugs or drinking alcohol daily. The reason why I consume energy drinks often is because I suffer from nocturnia due to my ongoing urinary problems & I have a very demanding life being a single mom with endless responsibilities. I feel it is very easy for someone who doesn't have to deal with a certain problem on a daily basis to judge someone else who does. She then started to blame literally anything & everything on my results on the energy drinks including my nocturnia that is 100% caused by my urinary problems NOT anything of my lifestyle decisions. This isn't accurate, there are many factors that contribute to one's health. Mind you, she didn't even know what my health problem was at the beginning of our meeting but by the end she was acting as if she had all the answers & was one to speak on my issue but she was wrong about everything. It is important not to give misinformation in a setting regarding someone's health but she felt she knew everything. In the beginning of our meet up she mentioned that the scan is not a diagnosis so she also needs to remeber she is not a doctor.

As a veteran, full-time student, working mom, and single mother, I was genuinely happy when I found…read moreReady Fit Go. Having somewhere I could quickly grab healthy prepared meals between work, school, and taking care of my daughter was extremely convenient. I had already purchased more than 10 meals from this location and had returned several times because I wanted to continue supporting the business. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I will not be returning. I had encountered the same employee once before, a woman with curly hair and light-colored eyes, and during that interaction, I felt she had an unnecessarily rude attitude toward me. I brushed it off, purchased my meals, and left. This time, I came in with my two-year-old daughter. The store was completely empty. I purchased our food and was trying to heat it up so we could eat and get going. While I was doing that, my daughter ran a short distance and screamed. She is two years old. Before I even had the opportunity to correct her, the employee sternly told my daughter, "Stop screaming." I immediately told her that if there was an issue with my daughter's behavior, she could address it with me and I would correct my child. I brought my daughter close to me and explained that I did not feel it was appropriate for her to discipline someone else's two-year-old child when the parent was standing right there. Instead of simply allowing me to handle the situation, the employee began arguing with me and repeatedly telling me to "control" my child. At that point, the interaction became completely unnecessary. I understand that businesses have expectations for customer behavior, including children, and I have no problem correcting my daughter when necessary. My issue was never being asked to quiet my child. My issue was the way it was handled and the hostility that followed when I respectfully asked the employee to speak to me as the parent instead of disciplining my toddler herself. As I was leaving, the employee continued dismissing me with comments like "bye, bye," walked toward the door, and shut it hard as we were leaving. The entire interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional. What makes this especially disappointing is that I was already a returning, paying customer. I wasn't asking for special treatment because I am a mom. I simply expected basic courtesy and respectful customer service. Parents understand that toddlers occasionally run, yell, cry, or get excited. That doesn't mean parents shouldn't correct them. I absolutely believe we should. But there is a respectful way to communicate with a parent when something needs to be addressed. I really wanted Ready Fit Go to be a place I could continue purchasing meals from because it fit so well into my busy schedule. Unfortunately, after having two negative interactions with the same employee, especially the way my two-year-old daughter and I were spoken to during this visit, I no longer feel comfortable returning. A business can have great food, but customer service and the way people are treated matter just as much.
