I have been going since their opening day because I know my lash girl Melissa personally and she has been doing my lashes for years...and I am addicted to lash extensions! Conveniently located around the corner from Chester Station, and just a couple doors over from The Big Carrot, this lovely little beauty studio is an oasis of pampering and beautifying! The prices are incredibly reasonable without sacrificing quality. It's not a salon where the same tech does everything, the girls who do lashes have been doing nothing but lashes for years for many satisfied customers, present company included. Usually at these prices you would be getting someone who usually does nails making a mess of your lashes or doing small sections of strip lashes and calling them extensions, where at 6 Degrees you get the real deal for a lot less than other lash extension places. I was far too busy spending money on things to ruin my body, as one does... Slowly, I became more aware of what I was putting in and on my body, and started seeking skin treatments as needed. Until having babies, I never really had anything too problematic. Unfortunately, my hormonal shifts didn't always leave me glowing. Sometimes it left me spotty and uneven and generally putting on drag-level make up before events. I'm super pale, too, so whenever I break out, the red dot results can last for months. I'm currently pregnant, so she consulted with me for a long while on what I could and couldn't do to speed up healing my leftover marks from my first trimester flare up. First of all, Tho is professional and she knows her stuffs, she is very focused when she does the strokes, and she explains the procedures very well. I have followed her IG for a long time (and also other artists) and I found that her work has the best details, and at the same time she totally understands that each person's facial characteristics are distinct and you cannot just have one fit for all. She takes her time to make sure that the shape you are going for is the one that's most suitable for you, not just "stamping" the most popular shape on your face regardless if it works on you or not (which I have observed in some other artists' work....unfortunately). I have come less frequently in the last few years since moving to the States, but nevertheless this was one of my go to places once upon a time. I am SUPER bummed that they have changed their make-up application prices. It used to be about $45 for make up application -- but you could put that towards buying their products, so you don't just "lose" that money. No brainer! I came in this past Saturday and the new pricing is $75 for a full face and you can't use that towards products. The only thing I did get with the pricing was a set of false lashes. They do have a "targeted" make-up application that is $45 but you choose the service. For example: eyes, lips, contouring, etc. Which is also an insane price in my opinion. Sephora does the same type of targeted service for FREE. Honestly, they do a great job at application and I do really like their products including some of their skin care line (particularly Scientific Organics). I also enjoyed their quick and dirty 3 minute facial prior to applying the make up, it makes it feel a little more spa like--- but the spa feel ends there. Almost every location, including this one, ends up being small and cramped, especially with how busy they can become. I am not sure why they have never invested in a more spacious location, they could certainly use it. In my experience, always book an appointment if you can. It is usually very tough to do a walk-in. However, it was easy to schedule an appointment with only 1-2 days notice. A Beauty Club membership pretty much pays for itself if you come in for services and/or buy products. Plus, they have a whole bunch of perks like free "targeted" makeup on your birthday, 50% off a facial, 10% off products, etc. Final word: The new pricing is going to make me think twice about coming back (especially for make up). Sephora still does make-up for $50 and you can put all that towards products (ANYTHING they sell in the store, so it doesn't even have to be make-up-- it can be perfume, hair, bath products, etc). Personally, I prefer Sephora but it is much more difficult to book and you have to do so much further in advance (weeks- months). Caryl Baker is still a solid choice, and it is still on my list for other services--- but I can't justify the new price for make up and would only do that if I was in a pinch.
