We came back to a half cleaned room. They did not make one of the beds. It was just like we left it. There is a major upgrade going on. Which is nice. But what about the people staying now?

When we checked out the girl at the front was on her phone texting and barely looked up. We told her how bad the room was and she just said she'd let them know.

It's my 2x time staying here bc my coworkers - aka my carpool, are staying here. Bed was ok, the shower needs more pressure, and I wish the air conditioner wasn't so loud. Their breakfast was ok, don't eat the muffin... lol stale & hard. Waffle maker is cool. Near a Chili and Supermarket for any emergency.

Peace Be Still served our purposes, providing two nights' comfortable and restful sleep. Easy to find and locate. Nothing fancy, it's an older roadside motel. Blue tarp covering a sizable portion of the roof doesn't inspire confidence upon pulling up to the place, but that didn't cause any problems. As for our room, the plumbing worked, the electricity worked, the AC worked (warm summer season stay), the mini refrigerator worked, and the staff was friendly, personable, and professional. No bugs, no insects, no creepy-crawlies, no smells, no odors, no mold, no mildew. No problems or issues! Rates were reasonable. It's not a five-star facility, or even a four-star, but it is what it is and makes no pretenses about it. If we wanted to be picky and overly critical, there was no microwave in the room, my wife thought the beds were a little too soft (they were okay with me), and she also found the water not to her liking either in taste or smell (it's well water; geeez, remember, you're out in the country! she's a city girl). In our special requests, we specified that we required accommodations for a trailer we were pulling and two cats. Upon our arrival and after making payment for the rooms, we began to unpack, only to be informed by the front desk clerk that cats were not allowed despite the fact that the third-party website said that they could accommodate pets upon request. This situation was extremely frustrating. The clerk failed to read our request in the booking for over 8 hours and didn't even review it upon our check-in. Although she expressed apologies for the mix-up and mentioned a possibility that we would not receive a refund, then she unfairly shifted the blame to us, insisting it was our fault for not booking directly through their website or calling ahead. This response is unacceptable, as it is their responsibility to ensure their business policies are accurately listed on third-party sites as they must opt into using these services. Moreover, the front desk clerk claimed she didn't have time to review special requests for all the rooms. Given that there are only roughly 20 rooms in this motel and our booking was made over 8 hours prior, it should have been a priority to review and contact us if there were any issues. After we insisted, we were finally able to secure a refund, though she again stated she would need to check if she could indeed issue one. The Knotty Pine Motel exhibited unprofessional behavior, with staff failing to perform their duties and blaming their own negligence on the guests. For these reasons, I can not recommend this motel - their handling of the situation was utterly ridiculous and unprofessional. Edit: The owner's response is pretty telling about their business standards. At no point does she accept responsibility for her lazy employee and continues to shift the blame to everyone and anything else. I work in this industry, these businesses still have to accept the reservations from these third-party sites, meaning her employees disregarded and just blindly accepted our accommodations before again ignoring them when we were in-person checking into the motel. It is markedly apparent that their family business is unable to take feedback or improve upon their services. Their staff is unprofessional, and their owner is complacent with providing horrible services in addition to zero accountability. I recommend the Hampton Inn down the street instead.

Nothing kitschy or trendy or trying to hard, just relaxing and comfortable and nice. The rooms are good size, nicely furnished, unique art on the walls. The bed is great. The bathtub is better than a lot of fancy hotels. This was such a great surprise.
