We were looked out of our room for a while. First shift seems like they don't know what they are doing. We had to wait until second shift comes in so we can get into our room. I will never forget her name because she really did make our stay 100 times better. Evelyn is one of the best employees they have, she takes her job serious and makes customer satisfaction her top priority. Meanwhile Lory was really non pleasant and just the complete opposite. Lory said she didnt know how to get the locks opened and we had to wait until Evelyn came in to be able to acess our room. Not only that, we had to switch rooms since the lock wasnt working and Evelyn helped us move to our new room and our daughters absolutely loved her. She even brought them candy bars and really made our stay better. Our family is absolutely grateful for Evelyn and we absolutely loved having her as staff. We were looking for a simple quick stay for our e night. My family checked in and upon entering the room we could see how dirty it was but the worst was see a roach my the window. The door had been broken down at one point and the man at the front desk had admitted there had been police action required in that room just a few weeks prior. The curtain was hung up with some twine because it had been broken. The place was absolutely disgusting so we demanded a refund. They did say they would honor our refund. Great Value, Fantastic Staff. This is more of a review of the treatment I always receive here. I travel for work, and from my first stay here about 10 years ago the staff has been outstanding. I'm always recognized, greeted with a genuine smile, and they make sure I'm happy. It is a basic motel, a little older, but clean and safe. The rooms have flat screens and the internet is very fast, I think they recently upgraded it. I work in the room and no issues. Due to an impending lawsuit, my lawyer says I can't talk about the purpose of my stay at Motel 6. However, I am allowed to talk about some specifics of my stay that I feel speaks a number on this motel and would be beneficial to anyone else who is interested in staying here, so here it goes: Location wise, Motel 6 is great. I knew I needed to be near an interstate highway in case everything went wrong and I needed to get out of dodge, and this Motel 6 was in a good location to fit that need. The cop presence allowed me to get my tasks done without the threat of getting busted and the close proximity to the park also added to the location benefits. I was able to get a room on the ground level. I liked being able to have my car right next to my room. It made it easier to take the things that were in my trunk and put them in my room for safe keepings. I wasn't to keen on what felt like an extraneous amount of security cameras but I was able to move my stuff fast enough that it doesn't matter. My "lotion guy" Slippery Pete also liked the parking lot size as he was able to back his large, unmarked van into a spot with plenty of room on both sides. The room was a good size. The door had adequate locks on it and when I wedged a chair underneath the doorknob made the room impenetrable from the outside (even when Slippery Pete tried kicking the door down, he couldn't). The beds were inconspicuous and perfect for filming. The screws on the vent grille came off easily and the vent had plenty of storage space for hiding things. The towels were absorbent and cleaned up all the fluids. The bathrooms were clean. Once the case is over, I do plan on staying here again. Not for "business reasons" but strictly for "pleasure". The worst experience of my life. Staff was rude and made us wait an hour and a half for our room to be cleaned. After we finally got in our room and got settled, we realized the door would not lock. They knew about the problem from the day before and did not let us know about it. They did not have another room for us to stay in and wouldn't let us stay at a sister hotel for the same price. We stopped due to poor weather all other hotels in the area were fully booked. The price was reasonable but the room left a lot to be desired. One sheet had what appeared to be dried blood on it. The blanket had what I can only hope was mud on the top seam. In addition there was a chip on the bathroom floor. When checking out the cashier tried to dismiss us with out a receipt. Don't let the exterior of this Motel 6 scare you away. The rooms have been very recently renovated and are actually quite nice. Instead of the ratty carpets that places like this usually have, they had redone our room with that flooring that looks like wood, but is waterproof. They also have very modern furniture, and a much nicer TV than I would've expected. At the end of the day, we're talking about a Motel 6 in Richfield, Ohio; not the Gansevoort. One note, the motel location does not give the visitor many options for meals unless you are prepared to travel. My reservation was for a Two Full bed room, I have documentation of that via email from the website. The room was for myself and my teen daughter, hence the need for two beds. Per the website, it asked for number of adults which I answered "1" since it did not ask for number of children. The manager of the facility took it upon himself to change my reservation to a "1 King" room due to being fully booked and another patron arrived before me needing a double room. Since he saw only one adult, he decided to give me the 1 king room, leaving no doubles available. When I arrived at the hotel, he lied and told me that I must have made a mistake on my reservation and that I reserved a "1 king." I went out to my car and retrieved my reservation paperwork and proved him wrong, at which time he admitted what occurred. He then, begrudgingly, agreed to put me up at the Holiday Inn in a double bed room across the parking lot that he also manages. My friend's room reservation was fine - he needed only a single king bed. The room was sparse in its' decor, which is fine but the laminate tiles on the floor were applied poorly and are starting to peel and pop, causing tripping hazards. read more

My reservation was OK, and overall the hotel was as advertised. There was a quick check in and check out. The room was clean and looked just like the pictures. One small issue was the lack of toiletries. The only toiletry in the room is soap, so if you need shampoo during your stay, you better bring your own. My main issue is my bill. I booked the hotel through Expedia and prepaid. When I checked in, the manager swiped my credit card. I told him that it was already prepaid, but he said that the charge would disappear when we left. At check out, the charge was still there. I brought it up to the manager again, and he assured me the charge would be gone. Two days later, it was still there. I had to go through the bank to get the charged removed. This should not happen. If you decide to stay here, make sure they don't try and double charge you if you prepay. read more

Cheap room compared to others in area. (Money and comfort). Its ok if u need a bed and a small tv only. Check the lock on your room door when you close it. Mine would not lock. When leaving to the car or dinner, you pull door shut, it would not lock the electric key lock. Push on door it comes right open. I kept the room. I was to tired to change rooms and you can use the deadbolt from inside. The A/C works well. The beds were ok, seen worse. Inside room was livable just not fancy. Shower was ok. Going to the jacuzzi? Well, we did. Then straight to the showers. Lots of small bugs floating in water. Water was not that hot. Ok for some. Need a good laugh ? Try the weight room. 3 pieces of equipment. Probably from the early 80"s and covered in dust. All this sits in a tiny room with very dim lights. Now the pool room, with jacuzzi, whoooa. Think ive seen it in a horror movie? Look up and looks like a 8 x 10 ft section of ceiling is ready to crash down on you. Most of the cement around pool area is broken in pieces. Little bit scary. But, inspite of all this, it was all pretty clean and staff was pretty nice. Free coffee in morning. Bring your own Danish. No coffee maker in room, no fridge, no breakfast in morning. But there was a full pot of coffee. Mexican restaurant next door. About 13.00 for avg meal. But food was very good. (Except chips. Probably store bought). On a tight budget stay here, can afford a little more, try something else). 1 more plus, they are pet friendly with no extra charge. read more

This is a great little motel. It's clean, with recently renovated rooms in a modern style and no bedbugs (apparently Ohio is the bedbug capital of the US!). They allow dogs (with no extra fee) and there's a nice little area to walk your dog - it even has a picnic table and a grill. This has to be the most unclean Motel 6 I have ever stayed in, right from walking into the office to register, to entering my hotel room. Windows are filthy, outside carpets are stained, the room smelled like VERY old cigarette butts, the sheets don't fit the beds, the towel rod was falling off the wall, the door wouldn't close tight - I can go on and on. Having brought dinner with me, I sat at the table in the room and ate, but simply couldn't take it any more. I didn't even mess up the bed - I only laid on top of it and determined there was no way I was sleeping all night on that thing. I gathered up my belongings and left. I wasn't there an hour. The floor had dust bunnies everywhere, not just the normal spots (you know, under the bed, in corners, against the headboard. There was plenty of dust & old receipts & other garbage where one of the headboards should have been). The bathroom smelled like sewage. The toilet handle was broken off (rusted right off ) so everytime we had to flush the toilet we had to remove the back & pull the stopper chain thing. The smoke detector's battery was running low so it kept beeping until it died, about 4 hours into the night, so that was a plus. We did not have any bugs (probably because they knew this was a f*#ked up room to be in). I would not recommend staying here, sleep in your car @ a rest stop, it'd be sooo much better! read more

This is a horrible hotel! The entrance is very close to the highway, yet the sign is not visible from the road. The clerk was rude and barely understood or spoke english. The clerk refused to honor my Hotels.com guaranteed, paid for reservation, even though I had documentation, including payment and confirmation. He charged me for a room. Breakfast was to be included, but didn't even provide coffee. Towels are like sandpaper, they don't provide anything but soap in the room, so if you stay, don't forget your shampoo, kleenex, and hairdryer. The bed is horribly uncomfortable. read more

this place is absolutely disgusting. we stopped late at night in the midst of a long road trip in need of a place to stay. the man at the front desk didn't take my credit card nor swiped anything, just wrote down the number and all my information and gave me a key. the room was dimly lit and the beds weren't supported by a bed spring; just a mattress on a piece of wood. the bathroom floor was gross and the shower was more mold than tile. washed my face in the morning with what felt like chlorine. i felt like bugs were crawling on me all night long and could hear everything in the rooms around me. absolutely disgusting and do not recommend this to any sane human being. i have 5 years of taken off my life and god knows what fumes were coming out of the air vent. read more

It's not much to look at outside, hidden behind the Holiday Inn. I was actually expecting a crappy room but I was surprised. It looks recently remodeled and was all modern. No bells and whistles though. Not even a coffee pot or an alarm clock in the room. The cable stinks there are only 15 channels if that (I didn't count). No extra fee for our dog. 3 stars because of cleanliness. There was bare floors in our room. Looks like wood but my guess is that it is linoleum that looks like it. I took a shower and then was walking around the room barefoot. In twenty minutes the bottoms of my feet were black. They could leave more than two towels in the bathroom also. read more

Stayed here in the middle of a long road trip and we had a terrible experience. The room looked recently remodeled but part of the laminate flooring was already coming up and the tub in the bathroom was worn and dingy, we didn't decide to use the shower/tub. Cleanliness also left a lot to be desired, the blankets and sheets both has stains and also random hairs once the covers were pulled back and the floors weren't swept. Well behaved pets do get to stay for free so that's a bonus and the front desk attendant was very nice but we won't be staying here again and we'll probably avoid Motel 6 after this stay. There are other hotels in Richfield and even another in the same parking lot so I would recommend checking one of those out first. read more
