This place is great. I don't know why you people are giving them a hard time. This hotel is a…read morehidden gem. A GEM, I TELL YOU. In the lobby, there's a marble staircase that splits into two. It's not huge, but it's there. And I bet it's better than what you've got. And it descends into a really awesome restaurant that's built on top of the river rapids and waterfalls and nature, and it's fantastic. And they keep the lights down low, so it's very romantic. The food is awesome too. It's a little expensive but not bad for the experience. The actual hotel has a 60-foot lap pool. It's not deep but swimming laps isn't an honorable use of time anyway, so don't complain about it. It's great for kids. They've got a fitness center if you want to actually do some exercise, and the fitness center overlooks the pool. Two things here: they have a sauna but it's out of order. I suspect it's been out of order for a looooooong time. And then the hot tub is also pictured on the site, but is now covered over. But you know, I guess that's kind of alright, because when the hotel was built, those were things, but in 2026, maybe we don't need to be that close to other people's butt cheeks in a confined space. The rooms are nice. Not like, Vegas-nice, but definitely more than National-Park-nice. And if you get a room facing the falls, you also get the white noise of the waterfalls, which is pretty awesome - not to mention the view of the falls. The hotel, being built along the side of the river, has many different views of the falls, from the restaurant and the rooms, to the deck of the pool, the attached bar, and the walking-path under the road to the plaza to the north. You can take this either way, and it can be a fun place to base a family trip out of, or you could spend a romantic weekend here. Or you could have a conference here. A romantic one even. o_O Finally, the people here are SUPER professional and helpful. I honestly think they're TOO professional. I'm just a common man. I don't need too much fanciness. They treated me like I was the president. Not the current president, but a decent president, and I shouldn't be treated like that. I just need the keys and I can wander around like an idiot and figure things out. They made sure I knew everything I needed to know, and then you're immediately super comfortable. This is a great place. Sometimes bad things happen. You can't listen to these reviews that are like "THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE I FOUND A CANDY BAR ON THE GROUND" somebody just dropped it there. The entire world isn't constantly monitored for your mild inconveniences. You didn't die. Move past it.

At 430 I was told they could not get a hold of the provider. The woman at the front desk began to argue saying 'this is not my fault' 'I don't know who told you what' and 'you can go work in the M Club lounge where the lobby internet works'. I asked for a manager and was told there was none. I asked for a phone #, none, email she gave me. I asked the woman for her name and she said 'I don't have to tell you my name. I did email the manager and of course got no response. Then I see from older reviews that the internet is always an issue. The hotel is rundown and old. 2 pieces of equipment in the gym do not work. The outside stair entrance door does not lock. Meaning that anyone can access the guest room corridor in seconds.

Entrance: The downstairs area is nicely, appointed the booth where you can sit for meals have their own TVs and in the sitting area with the larger TV there are outlets on the arms of the couch so you can charge your computer or your phone or your tablet. Patio: the patio is large and has some standing tables a few fire pits with the little glass rocks inside. It's really nice and it's close to the street so you can see people walking back-and-forth to other shops in the area. I like the patio. Location: the location is really good. It's really close to the highway and there are plenty of food options as long as you don't wait until too late. There's a food hall next-door, but it closes on Sundays at three unfortunately and 7 on weekdays. The hours may vary by season though so check their website. Parking: very hit or miss there is free parking in front of the hotel in open lots, but there are lots of other attractions in the area and if it's a busy night, it might be hard to find parking. Since most people check into hotels on weekend evenings, it's often difficult to find parking. There is a little space for you to pull into check-in and unload your luggage, but it looks like it can only hold two cars so hopefully people don't abuse it. Rooms: the rooms are good. They have plenty of outlets and charging areas also different lighting options. The main problem I've had with the rooms is that the showers the grout isn't clean and I really don't like that in my experience. The rest of the bathroom has been generally clean.

When I brought these things to the managers attention, it was all he could do to give me back the money I was overcharged, nothing else for the time I had to waste to get it. They should use this hotel as training for how to alienate customers. Two stars only for the location and because the staff at the Starbucks were really friendly

I learned this when I drove with him on Monday. You need to hear this story: I called when I landed in CAK airport asking if the property could send the airport shuttle as it is advertised to have. I heard the hesitation in Deon's voice and as he told me that there was an issue, but if I could give him 5 minutes, he'd call me back. I told him there was a different Marriot nearby and not to worry, I'd simply go elsewhere. He said, "no, don't do that ... just 5 minutes, I'm going to figure this for you sir". Whatever. That's cool. He sounded like he wanted to help and that's surely worth 5 minutes of my time for his investment in my problem. When he called me back, he said "Mr. Bain, our shuttle isn't yet in-service and I don't have anyone available to work the front desk for another few minutes, but I called one of my other workers to cover for me and I'm coming in my personal car to pick you up. This is the kind of can-do attitude that I look for when hiring on my team and really refreshing as the US, once known for its customer service, has surely waned over the years. On the drive, he shared with me the new role he has at the property and about how he sees opportunity to institute better processes at this and the others under the management company's umbrella he might be offered in the future. Thinking about process improvement in a hotel chains is generally as exciting to me as looking at my parent's photos of an antique store they once visited, but he was glowing about the opportunity; so much so, that I actually felt excited with him. That attitude + aspiration is a winning formula. I have little doubt he'll have a region or a district under his purview in 2-5 years. Kudos Deon. (Shower was cold, though and it's pretty loud near the highway)

The Breakfast was above my expectations. The assistant that put out the food never stopped moving. If he was not refilling the food he had the dining area spotless. This is not on the staff. You need a sign that says,do not fill your personal water at the drink station. I watch an Adult drink from the rim of his water jug then stick the drink dispenser nozzle completely in his jug after he had been putting it to his mouth. I stayed at this Hampton Inn several years ago. It was nice then. It no longer is…read more I was going to rate this the worst Hilton I ever stayed at but Yelp just reminded me of a worse experience at another hotel. What is particularly bad is the bathroom. The fans don't work and you get steam trapped in the room, which leads to mildew in all the corners of the tub and peeling paint on the ceiling. The tubs have an anti-slip bottom that doesn't quite get clean and now looks permanently stained and dirty. The rest of the room is standard Hampton Inn. However, because of the fan issue in the bathroom, the room easily becomes humid. So, you need to run the AC and thus the room stays cold. Note that we had two rooms because the woman working hotel reception admitted her incompetence and said she didn't know how to out me in the larger room for the first night. We had the same bathroom fan issues in both rooms and in our daughter's room.
