It also has a little known coffee shop called Over The Counter that is a nice hole-in-the-wall that is a perfect place to grab a nice cup of coffee and view of Lake Caroyln. This review is for Over The Counter. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Coffee, Return) Atmosphere - You'll find Over The Counter to the right of the check-in desk within the Omni Hotel. This coffee shop is a hidden gem because of the amazing views of Lake Carolyn and the Omni Hotel pool. This is a great spot if you're looking for a place to work while waiting for your Uber to head to the airport. The seats against the window have power outlets to charge your devices. It's quiet, not to busy, and even if you're not staying at the Omni Hotel a great place to grab a cup of coffee. Service - The Omni Hotel staff is very nice. Like most coffee shops, you'll place your order, customize it, and a barista will expertly craft your cup of coffee. On my visit, they asked what kind of milk I wanted (2%), and when I needed help with the Wi-Fi, they were super helpful in getting me online. 1 Star. Coffee - The coffee is nice and strong. My iced latte was smooth and had me buzzing. I had to sip it to ensure I prep for my meeting. I can't stress how awesome it is to enjoy a dup of coffee in a nice setting with an amazing view. My only minor feedback is that Over The Counter is in a the Omni Hotel, so expect to pay a little extra. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Now that I've discovered Over the Counter, I can imagine myself coming here on occasion to do work or conduct professional meetings. If you're staying at the Omni Hotel in Las Colinas, you should stop by. 1 Star.

Sometimes the best travel decisions are the ones made under pressure…read more After an Airbnb stay that didn't quite deliver, my family and I found ourselves in need of a last-minute reset something reliable, comfortable, and, most importantly, close to the airport ahead of an early departure. Embassy Suites by Hilton Irving Las Colinas offered exactly that: a soft landing when we needed it most. Traveling as a group: my mother, my husband, our 12-year-old son, and myself can make spontaneity tricky. But the ease of securing a suite that could accommodate all of us felt like a small victory in the midst of an otherwise hectic day. From the moment we arrived, the tone shifted. The front desk agent greeted us with a warmth that felt genuine rather than scripted, and what could have been a routine check-in became something more thoughtful. One particularly welcome feature: the ability to choose our room. With her guidance, we landed on a space that felt tailored to our needs rather than assigned at random. The property itself struck a careful balance between polished and inviting. It was clean, well-maintained, and subtly festive an Easter-themed backdrop in the lobby offered families a chance to pause and capture the moment, a detail that felt both intentional and charming. Our suite delivered on every front. Spacious without feeling excessive, it featured a king bed alongside a pullout sofa perfect for our son plus a small kitchenette and dining table that quickly became his gaming station for the evening. It's these small, functional touches that make a short stay feel seamless. Later, I made my way downstairs for the evening reception. The bartender, navigating a steady crowd with admirable efficiency, kept things moving despite the rush. While the drink selection was modest, the atmosphere carried a convivial energy that made up for it guests unwinding, conversations flowing, the quiet hum of shared travel stories. I also found a pocket of calm in the lobby, where I was able to catch up on work another reminder that this is a hotel designed with real-life travelers in mind. We didn't have time to explore every amenity, but the overall impression was clear: refreshed, thoughtfully updated, and quietly dependable. In the end, it was exactly what we needed a comfortable, well-timed stay that turned a stressful detour into something unexpectedly pleasant.

However the bathroom sinks may just be an elaborate prank pulled on every guest of this hotel. There are many photos already on here, but the pictures don't do it justice. The sink is approximately 7" x 12", and has a mirror jutting out over a portion of it, leaving you with roughly 4-5" of functional sink space. This will be the smallest sink you've ever used in your life (and I've spent lots of time in NYC and Chicago, where I've used some very small sinks). Need to wash your hands? You're getting water on your feet. Shave? Better wear a bathing suit. Wash your face? A wetsuit is recommended. Accidentally turn the water on too high when doing any of the above? Bet you didn't know you were about to take a full shower! I'm not sure the building codes in Dallas, but apparently you can get away with installing dollhouse fixtures here. Choose another property just simply so you don't have to deal with the hassle.

Commonly the HAVC is old and super noisy. The shower heads are usually clogged. Not here. The breakfast I actually enjoyed. Every day there is a new sandwich option. Decent quality. I like breakfast sandwiches. (It's not the healthiest option, but it was good and I enjoyed it.) The GYM! The equipment is new and everything works! The blue tooth option works. I can connect to my Iwatch to the cardio machine. The TV up top works fine. They're rare free weights available. And lots of room to work out. There was a salt water outdoor pool which is really nice. Only issues: the internet was slow. Annoying when I video would freeze. The lighting was very harsh in the hotel room. It was really bright neon lights. Other double edge sword: TV channels. The hotel had over 100! Which was amazing. The channel info was incorrect. So trying to find the program you wanted. It did not corresponded to what was presented. I liked it here and will stay again when I return to the area.

The shuttle drivers were really helpful, and it was easy to get to and from the airport. The room featured a small kitchen, which I didn't get to use, but I could see how this would be comfortable for a longer stay. There was also an on-site laundry that worked really well, although it was hard to find because there were no signs and it was inside the fitness center. I didn't use the pool or fitness center, but they looked well-maintained. The only real problem with this hotel was how thin the walls were. I needed to go to bed early (think 8pm), and I could clearly hear the people talking in the next room. It wasn't just a loud TV - they were just talking, not even shouting. It was so loud that I could hear them even over the air conditioner fan running and my white noise app on my phone at almost full volume. If all of that was turned off, it was almost as if they were in the room with me. I have never quite experienced a room with that little soundproofing. It was a bummer for a hotel that I got exclusively to sleep in. If I could do half stars, I'd probably do 3.5, but for everything else, I am rounding up. Also, the breakfast on weekends doesn't start until 7am, which feels a bit late for an airport hotel where people often have early flights, but they did offer coffee!

What I did not know was that the Illustrious Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated -- the ABSOLUTELY BEST sorority ever -- were also having ceremonies that night. Beautiful for them, chaotic for me. I pulled up expecting valet, only to be told valet was reserved exclusively for the AKAs that evening. Now listen... I respect it. If anybody's going to get special treatment, it's the ladies in pink and green. But for me? Whew. That meant I started driving... and driving... and driving. Forty minutes, y'all. FORTY. Between the restaurants, the event, and the already limited parking, it was a full scavenger hunt with no treasure. I finally tried the parking deck -- only to discover it ends abruptly at the top with no turnaround space. No warning signs, no heads-up, nothing. And because it's Girl Scout cookie season, I'm in our extended Escalade. Picture me at the top of this deck, realizing I have to reverse all the way back down. I could've cried. Actually, I did cry. My daughter is in the back asking if she's still going to the party, and I'm trying to be brave while my anxiety is sky-high. I went back to valet, desperate, and they basically said, "It's just a bad night for parking." At this point, I'm ready to cancel everything and go home. I called the front desk and spoke with a woman named Miccah (I hope I'm spelling that right). She was so calm and reassuring. She told me there were 12 underground parking spaces available, so I felt a little better. I drove down there... and there were only two spots left -- both for electric vehicles. And the elevator? Not working. Now I'm underground, no reception, no parking, no elevator, and a 9‑year‑old with me. I drove back up and called Miccah again like, "Girl, just cancel this. I can't do this. I've been circling this place for 40 minutes." And then -- the turning point. She said, "My manager is walking outside right now. He's going to move his car so you can have his parking space." When I tell you Alexander came outside and did EXACTLY that... that man was a blessing. He moved his own car so I could park safely and get my daughter to her sleepover. That is customer service times 1,000. When I checked in, I told him I felt like I was about to pass out. He said, "Ms. Page, don't pass out, don't pass out -- do you need a Coke?" And he actually brought me one. The kindness, the attentiveness, the humanity -- it meant everything after the ordeal I'd just been through. Because of Miccah and Alexander, what started as a nightmare turned into a stay I will never forget. Hilton, keep them. Celebrate them. Promote them. They are the reason I didn't break down in that parking lot. But Hilton... please fix that parking situation. It was truly ridiculous. And to the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated -- the absolutely BEST sorority ever -- congratulations on your ceremonies. Y'all looked beautiful, and I love that the hotel rolled out the pink-and-green carpet for you. I just wish the parking deck had rolled out a little grace for the rest of us too. Thank you to Miccah and Alexander for rescuing my night and making my daughter's first sleepover a success.

She relaxed instantly here. And when be front desk supervisor, Alexander, found out that my flight wasn't until later in the day. The hotel shuttle was going to pick me up, but they were delayed at the airport so I just walked back. There is a Starbucks across the parking lot and a gas station across the street. Super clean, too. There is very good soundproofing between the rooms. I heard nothing from my neighbors. However, I do wish there was better soundproofing in the windows as there is quite a bit of road noise from the busy road that goes to the airport. Nothing fancy, but very convenient, especially if you don't want to have to drive to a restaurant. The breakfast buffet is one of the better ones I've had. Lots of choices that change through the week. Also, if you have an early flight they have a continental breakfast that starts at 3am. Service: this is where the hotel really shines. The front desk agent could not find my reservation even after I showed it on my phone. Once she finally located it, she realized she had checked my reservation in under another guest's name and credit card, which is extremely unprofessional and concerning. She then had to call that guest back to fix the mistake. Even worse, the manager ended up checking me into the same room as that other guest, making it appear that two people were checked into the same room at once. That alone is a serious security and privacy issue. During our stay, the elevator stopped working and was out of service for two full days, forcing us to use the stairs the entire time, which was very inconvenient. The property itself is very outdated and in poor condition. The building smelled strongly of mold and cigarette smoke, which made the stay uncomfortable. In the bathroom, there were multiple earwig bugs coming in and out of a hole in the wall, which was unacceptable from a cleanliness standpoint. To top it off, our room only had one set of towels, even though the reservation was clearly for two adults. This hotel does not meet Hilton standards in any way. The bad thing about this Homewood suites would be the layout of the premises. Depending on your room you are hauling your luggage up, down, and around to many steps. I am guessing at some point, the premises had to have been an apartment complex, or possibly a school dormitory. One unit has elevators and other units have nothing but steps. This can be a pain when you have luggage. Another complaint I have is with room 238. Bedroom outlet doesn't work, and there's no clock in the room. The decor is outdated and the unit could definitely use a refresher.
