Although I was eligible for a room upgrade, it wasn't ready so I took a regular king, which was fine. I appreciated the ability to get in prior to noon as I was headed to the game. I didn't spend much time at the hotel but the service, lobby and room met my picky expectations . The king room was big enough for 2 adults along with my 70 pound boxer and small dog. My only complaint is no grass nearby. It is downtown so I get it but a small patch would be helpful. There is a pet area next door but it's dirt and let's just say my dogs need grass ‍ they aren't accustomed to using the bathroom in dirt so apparently they thought they were doing something wrong ‍. I fibbed I have a second complaint, the restaurant service was extremely slow and the silverware was gross I had to get multiple switchouts. That's fixable and I'll be nice and not dock stars for it I'd definitely come back if I have my pups and need to be in the downtown Dallas area.

Our event coordinator had already been in contact with each hotel's sales team regarding room blocks, but my fiancé and I wanted to personally see the properties before recommending them to 30-40 hotel room blocks. Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our business was neither appreciated nor wanted.

Maybe this is what Tina Turner meant when she wrote "Simply the best!"…read more Most famous for being the haven Tina Turner sought after fleeing her abusive husband Ike in July 1976. She crossed the four-lane highway with just 36 cents and was given the presidential suite for three days. With photos, custom pillows, quotes, the "Escape" suite is dedicated to her. If you want to commemorate Tina Turner, nothing beats it. Lorenzo Hotel, let's stay together. The creative, quirky, and poetic 237-room boutique is known for being an eclectic and vibrant art gallery with a different theme for each floor. Floor 1 is a mix-up with Shakespeare, Alice in Wonderland, Poe, and Einstein. Floor 3 is Literature & Journalism (if you like old printing presses this may be your type). Floor 4 is the Music Floor (vintage audio). Floor 5 is Mid-Century Modern (1960s Dallas history). Floor 6 is "Dali" or Surrealism Floor. Floor 8 is Botanical & Nature (floral pops of color). Floor 9 is Pop Art (bold and graphic). Floor 10 is Cinematic History (Hollywood glamour). Floor 11 is The Tina Turner Tribute. Floor 12: Skyline / Skye Ballroom event level with massive floor-to-ceiling windows. We stayed in Floor 7, which is "Literary Noir" (drama and mystery). We had a broken, blinking Neon sign, a wobbly ceiling fan, broken blinds, matchbooks full of phone numbers, an unfinished manuscript, an ashtray full of cigarettes, and a dead body in the tub. Not really. But we did have a giant seven foot "desk lamp", a paintbrush and frame above our bed, and and a carpet made from Hamlet quotes in Room 704. Dining: Hamilton's is the main on-site restaurant and bar, with a host or hostess in the lobby smiling at us when we walked in. Taco Enzo and Kolache Korner are in the refurbished shipping containers in the massive parking lot. The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). Service: Everyone was awesome, especially Precious, who was, like her name Precious. That explains why they don't hire Dicks.

The pool was great during the summer, it's small but has many chairs and even cabanas that are great for lounging in. The onsite restaurant for breakfast was delicious! The food was really good - probably the best part of the entire hotel - and the service at the restaurant was beyond friendly and accommodating. The parking is $20 a night which is a crazy price, but there were always plenty of spaces. There is a lot of construction next door, so we could hear that going on during the day and proved for a quite terrible view from our hotel room - completely obstructed by a tree with the bits you can see through being just trucks. One evening our toddler pulled the plug for the lamp that is on the night stand and it pulled the entire outlet out which created a hot flash of fire and smoke - then live wires were exposed - this is crazy dangerous and very disturbing that a very small child was in such danger from merely unplugging something. We went down to the desk and they immediately said they'd send an engineer up and asked if we would like to change rooms. We said we'd see what the engineer said, he came up about 5 mins later and said everything needed to be replaced so I said to him we have to switch rooms as it was completely dangerous for anyone to be in the room with live wiring exposed. A minute or two after the engineer left the front desk called our room and told us to come downstairs to change rooms. We packed up, trucked everything downstairs and they switched our rooms to the room next door (which it would've been nice if they would have offered to help move our luggage or at least tell us to just move it one room over, not bring it all downstairs). The front desk was actually really passive and cold - I found the situation quite shocking and dangerous and they had basically nothing to say about it. I thought it would've been nice if they had said something to apologize for the inconvenience, to offer something in return. It is completely their fault for having faulty electrical equipment in their room and they just wanted us to move rooms and go away - I was just happy to move the room and not be near them since they were such bad vibes - I think other people would've felt disrespected by their behavior. Thanks for the food, won't be back.

My room was clean, the TV and streaming set up worked great. I loved the motion activated lights that come on at the edges of the bed and under the bathroom sink. It makes a middle of the night walk to the restroom easy, haha. The gym is a good, standard gym for a morning workout. I was super sad there wasn't any room service anymore. I had to Uber Eats my morning oatmeal and coffee and would have rather just ordered from the hotel. The room has a SERIOUS mini bar set up with full size bottles of wine (actually pretty decent bottles!), multiple larger liquors, beer, and snacks. Party out in the room if you want!

Beautiful hotel, disappointing service…read more I stayed here Monday night for a work trip, and while the property is absolutely stunning -- modern, clean, and beautifully designed -- the service didn't match the setting. When I checked in early, my room was ready (a nice surprise) and the front desk agent was friendly. We had three rooms under my boss's name, and mine had my name attached as a secondary guest. The agent told me I had a $30 food & beverage credit because my boss is a Gold member. I'm actually a Diamond member (gifted through my sister, who stays with Hilton nearly 200 nights a year), so I'm familiar with the perks and thought $30 seemed high. I asked twice to confirm, and she reassured me it was correct -- usable in the market or minibar, and could be split between purchases. I hadn't eaten lunch yet, so I grabbed a salami-and-cheese snack ($12) and popcorn ($4) from the market. Later that evening, I tried ordering room service around 9:30 PM, but no one answered. The front desk said the restaurant was busy and would call me back -- they never did. After waiting 15 minutes, I went back to the market for another snack and a soda ($16 total). That put me around $32 total, which was fine since it was only $2 over the supposed $30 credit. The next morning, housekeeping knocked on my door around 8:45 AM asking to clean -- despite checkout being at noon. Not a big deal, but disruptive and unnecessary that early. Breakfast also missed the mark. We were seated quickly and given water, but it took 14 minutes before anyone took our order. It was moderately busy, not packed. When the food arrived, a manager dropped it off. We asked for salt, pepper, and preserves -- she returned with preserves, and when reminded about the S&P, snapped, "It's on the complete other side of the restaurant." Oddly defensive. Also, why isn't salt and pepper on the tables? Breakfast for two (just avocado toast) took over an hour. At checkout, more issues. I noticed a $35 restaurant charge that wasn't mine. The front desk said the restaurant only verifies last names, not room numbers -- a huge oversight. I asked them to move the charge to one of the other rooms in our group. Then I saw I'd been billed for three of the salami-and-cheese snacks even though I'd only bought two. The agent agreed and removed a $24 charge, but when she reprinted my folio, my "$30 credit" only applied as $4.33 and $10.67 -- totaling just $15, despite confirming it three times the day before. My Uber had arrived, so I had to let it go. Later that day, I realized I'd left my white sweatshirt on the bed. I called right away; the first front desk associate was kind, took my info, and said he'd check with housekeeping and call me back. No one ever did. The next day, I called back to check in and another associate immediately got short with me, saying I "should've filled out the online form." I explained no one mentioned that before. He rattled off the website quickly, then ended the call. I googled the Hilton Lost & Found site myself, found the link, and tried to submit the form -- but it immediately asked for a "client identification number," which I had no idea how to obtain. At that point, I gave up and counted the sweatshirt as a loss. The process was confusing and unhelpful from start to finish. I worked for Four Seasons for years, so I know what good service looks like -- and none of these issues are difficult to fix. Each one was avoidable: poor communication, incorrect charges, lack of follow-through, and dismissive interactions. It's a shame because the hotel itself is gorgeous, but the guest experience simply doesn't meet the standard the property deserves.

This spot when it comes to a spa can get very crowded so I recommend getting an early appointment which we did and we had the opportunity to enjoy a lot of the amenities before he got crowded things such as the whirlpool, the sauna the cold plunge and the steam room along with the quiet ambience and snacks. It was wonderful and then of course that top notch 80 minute deep tissue massage was an awesome way to end my day. So overall, I give this spot a five star because it is top-notch all the way.

The room was immaculate, the Uptown location is excellent, and dinner at Fearing's was as good as its reputation. The people I met in person were the real highlight. Amar at the front desk, and Luis and EunSeo in the Club Lounge, were warm, attentive, and genuinely memorable. If my review were based on the stay alone, it would be five stars without hesitation. The reason it is not is what happened after checkout. I raised a question about my STARS credit at the desk and was told everything was fine, though no one could actually show me the line items. When my folio arrived, I replied to the accounting email exactly as invited. I heard nothing. I followed up a second time, then a third. Silence. It took a fourth email, sent directly to a general manager, before anyone responded at all, and the response contained a billing error that had charged one of my credits to another guest's bar tab. I only caught it because I reconciled the receipts myself. It then took a fifth email, with a timeline and check numbers, to get it corrected. To the accounting manager's credit, once he understood the problem he fixed it promptly and refunded the charge. But by then I had spent two weeks proving something that should have taken them one look at the account. For most hotels, this is an ordinary service lapse. For a property that markets itself on owning and resolving guest problems immediately, it is a miss on the very thing that justifies the premium. The stay made me feel like a valued guest. The weeks after made me feel like a ticket number. I will likely give the property another chance, because the in-person team earned that. But if you stay here, keep your receipts and check your folio carefully, because the follow-through may not.
