I arrived in Boise during the holidays without having pre-booked a place to stay, and Motel 6 luckily had a vacancy. I booked a non-smoking room with a single queen bed. This place is honestly the best bang for your buck that you can get on a budget. My room was clean, modern and quiet, and I was impressed at the quality. The bathroom was nice, and I appreciated the mini-fridge, TV, and free wifi. The hallways did smell a little of smoke, but other than that, this was a perfect place to stay for a night! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE I booked a 2 queens upgraded room. When I arrived it was very late and I had been traveling a long way. We get to our room and the toilet seat was disgusting. Chipping on the inside and looked brownish. We were so tired that we decided to wrap hand towels around it to protect ourselves so we could get rest. Then we go to lay down and realize the 2 beds are doubles not queens. No worries we figure, they will help us get it all sorted out in the morning. After I shower in the morning, I go to grab a towel that has a strong oder to it. It smelt like the store and there were stickers on it. Please make sure your towels are sanitary from the warehouse. We get down stairs to inform the front desk of the error. It was the WORST customer service I have ever received. (Caucasian man w/glasses.) My mother and I have both worked customer service majority of our lives. You never tell a customer, "was it disgusting or just gross?" "I think you are over complaining" "she came in throwing a fit" "it says here you have a double so that is what you have"(mind you my booking from Expedia says 2 queens but he did not care bc he claims they lied.) Overall I'm a kind and patient person but please do not disrespect my mother by calling her a liar, over complainer, and treating her in an ill manner. Never ever stay at Motel 6! I stayed at the Lincoln, Nebraska Motel 6 on the 4th and tried on the 9th. Before I begin, let me say that the staff was polite and did their best under the circumstances, which is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. First stay, on the 4th, was average at best. They switched rooms for me because the TV didn't work. Room wasn't cozy, but clean and I slept well enough. Saturday, the 9th, however, was a nightmare. 1st room had no remote, easy fix. I actually thought it was funny considering my first stay. But the AC was leaking bad. Water from the wall to the bed. The desk clerk offered me a big towel to mop it up. OMG! Really? They switched me to an upgraded suite on the 3rd floor. I did not ask for an upgrade. Started out ok, but then a couple hours later, when I tried to sleep I woke up and a roach was on the nightstand staring at me practically eyeball to eyeball, I had left the light on so I could find the bathroom. I noticed more bugs, on the floor, crawling up the wall behind the refrigerator, under the trash can by the TV cabinet. I killed four before I said "enough" and left. The night clerk wouldn't refund my card, said I had to call the manager in the morning after 8. Luckily I stayed at Comfort Inn and slept well in a very nice, roach free, king bed room. On the road to Rawlins, Wyoming I stopped at a rest stop and called the manager. Oh gee, she wasn't in, the desk clerk said she refunded my deposit but the manager would have to refund the room. Well, today my bank shows they did refund the deposit, but only refunded me $15.99. They kept $48.01 for the 4-5 hours I was there before my battle with the roaches began. I am very disappointed in the service. We booked and paid for a room with 2 queen beds, but when we checked in and got to our room, it had 2 full beds. I ask the front desk and was told that was the only room like that available. Which at booking was a less expensive rate, but I was charged the higher rate. Then when I booked, it was for 3 adults, but we were only provided with 2 towels. When we contacted the front desk, we were told they didn't have any extra towels. We stated we didn't want extra towels, we wanted what should have come with the room. They said it would be at least an hour before the laundry was ready. The front desk assured us they would let housekeeping know and have towels brought up to our room ASAP. We waited for well over an hour and saw no one. We finally had to leave, our other person got a sponge bath only. We arrived back to the hotel later that evening and guess what, no towels were ever brought to our room. This is absolutely unacceptable, we should have been provided with what we paid for. read more

Pros: right off the highway, easy check in, our room itself at first glance looked tidy, updated and well presented. Private parking. Cheap. Hot water. cons: looking closer at our room, surfaces were clearly dirty/had prints or hair and the shower definitely had mold. the shower set up itself was weird. There's no toilet lid so that's pretty explanatory of how hygienic the bathroom is..The towels CLEARLY had hair on them, that was gross to see when getting out of the shower. Also at about 6 in the morning there was a lady shouting in the hallway, they were clearly under the influence of something and was in a verbal argument with their friends. Thin walls. read more

Both pillows were on the night stands and not the bed. When I went to grab them I noticed they were both torn. Neither had pillow cases on them. Idk if the were pulled off to the side to be replaced, but they never were. Card in the room said room was cleaned on 09/23, I checked in late 09/26. So in 3+ days no one followed up. Also the AC was set real low and was unresponsive, I ended up unplugging it to get it to stop so I could sleep. read more

The entire building stinks. From the second you enter the hallway you smell a mix between mildew and stale cig butts. My room smelled the same plus that of a dirty toilet. I ate a Sunkist tuna packet after inspecting the room and the aroma of that freshened things up a bit... then I had to sit down in the stand-up shower because the shower head is at nose height. (See photo). This was some first class trickery because the lobby was immaculate and the desk lady was super nice. This should be 1 star but the retro lamp was cool.. Booked a room here through Booking.com, which I've used for years with no issues. The "pay when you arrive" and "no fee for cancellations" apparently doesn't apply with THIS Motel 6, which charged me even after my fuel pump broke down en route to the airport. Had to sleep in my car with no T Mobile signal in the area and then deal with catching ride to airport and didn't even have time to think about this motel until I saw their charges 2 days later. I've now spent a total of 3 hours over 3 weeks trying to get this charge removed. The "managers" on site never bothered returning any of my calls, and even after Booking.com and Motel 6 National requested that the charge be removed, they refused. The only response I got from them (via the national office) was that I was a liar about not having service, which is a pretty horrible accusation to make. The national office had to cut me a check since the local office refused to refund my credit card, which means it'll take up to 30 days to get reimbursed for not staying at this motel. I'm a disabled single mom on a fixed income. This charge plus the unexpected car repairs and overdraft fees from my bank has destroyed me for the month. And for what? To steal from future customers and call them liars? If they're doing that to me, they'll do it to you, too. If you die before checking in, they'll make your family give them a death certificate before they remove charges, and even then they'll probably still deny it. Imagine how they treat people who DO show up! Boo on you, Boise Motel 6. I wouldn't wish you on my worst enemy. If you're looking for a motel near the airport, this isn't your only choice. Find some decent business to patronize, y'all! Boise is usually an extremely friendly town. Management must be transplants from you-know-where. read more

If you reserve a room they will tell you they ran your credit card and it was declined and then say they gave your room away, but they have a room for more money. They did this to 5 other guests when I was there. The claimed all five of our credit cards were declined. But when I bought the more expensive room they used the same card that they said was declined and to my surprise it worked!! I talked to 5 other guests during my stay and they said the same thing happened to them. And, the room was disgusting. There was pee on the toilet, dirt in the bed and the whole place smells. I have stayed in many motels in my life time. I have never been this unsatisfied. I checked in to my room and I immediately notice a huge blood stain on the ceiling. Also gross stains on the walls. If I pay for a place to stay I expect it to be a clean room. My girlfriend and I left the motel and are now staying at an Airbnb. I would never recommend this motel. If I could give zero stars, I would. Cancelled my reservation despite having booked direct as they say to do (though the desk person said "you should have used Expedia"). They say they called, but I was in the middle of a 11 hour road trip with no reception; there is also no record of the call and no voice mail). They put me in the "last" room ... and the door doesn't lock from the outside. When I asked, the person at the desk just said "I'm not maintenance" without even an offer to help in any way. The poor person at the desk was selling rooms then running to clean them for the customers I was in room 109 the floor was wet when I got in there. The tv picture kept blurring out and would go off for 5-10 min every 30 minutes or so the bathroom light was extremely dim I basically took a shower in the dark. The base boards were falling off but the bed appeared clean . What happened to the days before the pandemic when people cared that you spent a hell of a lot of money and actually got what you paid for . I asked her if she could take a bar from a vacant room but she said no because those people would need their soap. I guess since we already paid we no longer mattered compared to non existent guests that might show up. They also need to wash their walls. It's really nasty. This will be the last motel 6 I stay in. We stayed here for two nights and really wished we had picked somewhere else. I chose it because of the price but after making reservations on the website and getting confirmation of the total price via email, I was charged over $100 more. I have yet to receive a response from their guest relations department, and it's been 3 weeks since I spoke with them about this. Additionally, the $35 hold they put on the card has yet to be refunded. The room itself was not great. I wasn't expecting much, but I was at least expecting it to be clean. The floor had hair/dirt/dust etc and there were stains on the bedspreads and walls. The room had flies that kept appearing from who knows where. We could very clearly hear our neighbors in the next room. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because everything in the room worked and there weren't any bedbugs. read more

Disappointments include old TV set and broken hallway door locks. Defeats the purpose of interior corridors to me and makes you wonder about property maintenance and security overall. My room was non smoking but retains an odor from previous years of smoking permitted. Good overnight property, don't hear the airport. For an extended stay, a few dollars more at another property would be worthwhile. It's been years, but my family always stayed next door at Inn America. Absolutely AMAZING staff all around. 40yr veteran in industry of upscale and local resident, I just cannot say enough about this particular Hotel and staff. I was taken care of as in a 4-5 star hotel. I must give kudos (hope I'm not forgetting someone) Jessica, Christina, Adam, Lexi, Audrey, Gaby, Cassie, Pansy, Kristen, Brook, Alisha, Robert, Chris (manager). New hires Megan and James. Lexi and Gaby and Adam just make my days & nights. So friendly and personable but really they all are. Sometimes you feel like babbling and they accommodate without ridicule. Nothing and no one is perfect. We are humans but if by chance there was a little mishap or problem they promptly and graciously made it right for the most part. They are Fabulous. They have a new acting as manager Chris (I believe he is a corporate assistant to Brad?)who is a Super great guy. He's so personable and willing to listen and take care of any tiny thing. He is gracious and thankful, makes it a point to remember you and always acknowledge you by name. He makes you feel important and not just one in a crowd. Kudos to Chris! But I must give special kudos to one in particular Cassie. I first checked in and was your basic hotel. This is not an extended stay so you can only stay 28 days. Then you must check out and off property for 24hrs. I knew she was cleaning our room while gone and we had requested to have same room back. I thought I had re-entered a 4 star hotel. This room was AMAZING!!! We had shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. Which was not present when first checking in. I guess they had problem with housekeeping so after first week I stopped receiving knocks on door from housekeeping asking if we needed anything. I had to go hunt down and ask for essentials (towels, TP, etc) except when Cassie was on our floor. She always made sure we had what we needed. I asked since I was long term was I suppose to come ask she said No but always talk to me and I will ALWAYS make sure you have what you need. And she does ALWAYS!!!! Best housekeeper EVER!!! She said she's not there to get a paycheck but to make guests happy and she is an Over Achiever. Coming up to having to check out again for 24 hrs so I've been here a month and a half so I can honestly say I know what I'm talking about. Being in the industry 40 yrs as a server, bartender, supervisor and MOD in upscale hotels and establishments this certainly isn't something you see everywhere- you should but don't. I do know what I'm talking about. And being local I am more understanding but at same time more judgmental when I have to refer my guests and I WILL NOT be embarrassed and a bad reflection on me with my recommendations. Trust me I had to leave one hotel and came here due to extremely bad service, filthy room I cleaned for 3 days among other things. I wish I was working again (off due to covid) I'd steal and hit Cassie as my number 1 trainer in house and pay would reflect it. This place will NOT disappoint. Now most hotels come with frig/micro but if you want a microwave and frig you need to reserve a PREMIUM room. This keeps costs down. Local and in between housing I wish I could just live here and not look for house. And the really only PET FRIENDLY hotel in Boise due to no pet fees. Stayed here as I moved across the country with my cat. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and cleanliness of my room. Friendly customer service as well. The only complaint, which wasn't anything to do with Motel 6 was there were some revving of engines in the lot late at night and a few loud guests, not the hotels fault though. Stayed here during my stop in Boise during my Kanan Across America (http://KananAcrossAmerica.blogspot.com) and was satisfied with my stay. As I've stated before, most Motel chains have decided to do away with shampoo, and the fact that nobody has complained says more about its clientele. What makes this Motel 6 so special is the fact that when I went to the front desk to ask for shampoo, the clerk apologized and gave me a brand new, full size bottle of Suave shampoo! My husband and I stay here every 6 months for our job, on this trip for the first leg we were here for 7 days the room was pretty clean, on the second leg of our trip we are staying for 4 days, we have used up two of those days so all we have left are today and tomorrow. Our room is huge,clean,and the housekeeping is on top of keeping us supplied with towels, the front desk staff recognize us since we are here every six months, and it's usually quiet unless someone leaves there yappy little dog in the room and leaves it there to yap none stop lol, I don't usually call the front desk but I had to call on that one the little dog kept me from sleeping and I work at night......it is not the motels fault it is the people who leave their yappy dog in the room and it yaps none stop,causes my dog to growl,and the yapping wakes me up. So since I was unable to sleep for the rest of the day I did dishes (I bring my nuwave cook tops and accessories out of town with a couple coolers with meat and veggies in them) and I did laundry in their guest laundry room. I like staying at this motel the staff is really nice,rooms are pretty clean:-) read more

Stayed here for one night after staying a night in the rodeway inn at the airport, which was one of the worst stays I've ever had in a hotel, but I spoke too soon. This was just as bad. My young son and I stayed here for one night before heading back to WA, and other than the very sweet girl at the front desk, who was working extra since they were short staffed, was the only positive at this motel 6. I understand it is a budget motel, I didn't have grand expectations, but this was a nightmare. The room was FILTHY. Hairs and dirt all over the bathroom, blood stains underneath the top sheet, the hardwood floors were dusty and hadn't been swept, let alone disinfected. There is a GLOBAL PANDEMIC going on, and this was far below par for cleanliness, let alone during COVID. There were 2 measly bars of soap, so I left to get Lysol so that we could at least disinfect the room ourselves. What am I paying them for? The room was $60ish for the night, with a $35 deposit. How can they charge for a deposit when they don't clean the rooms? They didn't give me back my $35 deposit either, which has already been disputed by me to my bank. The power in the entire hotel went out for two hours, and the nice girl up front laughed and said 'you wish!' when other customers said 'well this should be discounted from our stay' I had blankets to wash from our previous nights stay, and the soap machine didn't work. I had to ask her and wait to get a measly cup of soap to run a load of blankets for my son and I since the beds were disgusting. We ended up sleeping in one bed, on top of our own bedding. There were homeless people in tents about 10 feet from the parking lot, which made us feel very unsafe parking there or going outside at all. My son stepped in dog or human feces in the parking lot, which I had to clean in the shower and placed to dry on one of the thin towels in our room. There was an unsettling stench throughout the hallways, and multiple guests smoking nonstop next to all the doors (my son and I are very sensitive to cigarette smoke) so much so, that my son vomited after being in this hotel for only an hour and a half. The next morning while I was showering in the dirty shower, my son said the phone rang for about 5 minutes straight. Not sure why anyone would be calling our room over and over when it's 2021, I have a cell phone and I would not touch the phone after seeing the filthiness of everything in the room. I don't normally write reviews, but during Covid I would have thought that even a budget stay motel would have some sort of cleanliness. I was very wrong. I have a feeling they aren't returning my deposit because of my sons throw up accident, but if that is the case, that is absolutely disgusting of them. The room was filthy in the first place, and I had to go spend extra money to disinfect our room. Bad form motel 6. This was my first time at not only this motel 6 location, but at a motel 6 in general. Probably will be my last time. My friend and I were on a long road trip and decided on this place to stay for the night. It was one of the most affordable options in the area, so we weren't expecting luxury by any means. However, the pictures on their website are a little deceiving. One of the amenities described was a nice BLUE outdoor pool. Instead, it was green and filled with dirt and debris. It appeared to have been at least a year since it was cleaned. Interestingly, it was still open. Clearly the manager doesn't care about guests catching whatever disease is infested in that disgusting water. Also, not that it affected the interior of the building, but there was heavy construction happening all around the motel. When my friend and I arrived in the parking lot, there was a man on top of a nearby building under construction tossing down slabs of wood onto the street, which was obnoxiously loud. The guy who checked us in was friendly so I would say the service was decent. I'm not so sure he should be qualified to own a dog, though. In the corner behind the front desk was a FILTHY dog bed that housed a very depressed looking dog. If I were a dog living in a motel 6 though I would probably be depressed, too. Once we got to our room, my expectations from the website photos were met. Thankfully we didn't find any leftover crap from previous guests; one time my brother visited a motel 6 in Oregon and found someone's bra under the bed. There were dark streak marks on the base of the toilet, though, of a substance I would prefer not to know. The curtains were also dirty and there was a sticky substance on the headboard of my friend's bed. Our room was a double; my friend's bed was as comfortable as you'd expect of a motel 6 bed, but the springs in mine were very messed up. Every time I shifted my weight, a spring would misalign and shake the mattress. I still managed to get 5 hours of sleep... probably would have gotten more with a properly functioning mattress. It's a bummer there was no free breakfast. Plenty of vending machines, though. We got out of there as quick as we could when we woke up. Overall, if you are trying to find an inexpensive place to crash for the night, this place will do just fine. But if you're planning on staying for an extended period of time, you're better off spending the extra $50 or so for something nicer. Your future self will thank you. read more

So normally I wouldn't give a motel 6 4 stars but let me explain the situation. We were both exhausted heading back to Seattle from Las Vegas. It was 4am and my boyfriend called to inquire about prices for the night. The woman that answered said it would be 46 for the night but if we waited until 4:30am she would waive the check out time. This was perfect for us we wound up checking out around 2pm. Also this is the first motel 6 I have ever stayed at that had hard wood floors. As expected clean room and bedding. The hotel staff was extra helpful for a motel 6. Also just a tip, wait to eat breakfast at Dennys after checkout they give you 15% off total bill. read more

There should be a "You will probably leave here with a communicable disease" rating for this disgusting excuse for a Motel 6. I have stayed at Motel 6s for YEARS and stayed in this dump because of the Motel 6 eputation for clean, affortable lodging. My apprehension began when I could smell stale cigarette smoke from the OUTSIDE before even opening the front door. Entering the lobby, the halls were not air conditioned so the 80+ degree heat only magnified the stale, cigarette-smoke stenched air. Walking up the stairs, which were covered in filthy, smelly, stained carpeting, we were greeted by a half-empty beer bottle on the side of the stairway; further up the side of the stairs, a cigarette butt welcomed us to our second-story room. After a 10-hour day of driving and looking forward to a decent night's rest, what greeted me next still makes me want to throw up. My pillows both had hair on them. Clearly the linens were dirty. So I called to request new ones. By then, I was pretty sure there was more filth to be found, and sure enough, when I pulled off the dirty pillow cases, one entire corner of the pillow was covered in MOLD. The second pillow had BLOOD stains; my roommate's pillow had similar deep, dark disgusting stains. I immediately went downstairs to request a refund and new pillows. If the replacement pillows were not new, I was ready to sleep in the car. To the credit of the night manager, Jessica, she gave me brand-new pillows and sheets that were still warm from the dryer, so presumably they were clean. She also did not hesitate to refund my money. The disturbing thing about something like this is that these MOLDY, BLOOD-STAINED pillows had been seen and covered with pillow cases by numerous employees, an indication that this Motel 6 is run by someone who not only runs a filthy establishment, they also have no regard for public health. Mold is a known hazard for people with respiratory disorders and BLOOD??? There are simply no words to describe the level of disregard these people have for the way they run this business. My roommate who was a first-time Motel 6 guest said she will never visit another Motel 6. If you are a regular Motel 6 guest, do yourself a favor and stay away from this one because it is most definitely not representative of the typical clean Motel 6 that you are used to. read more
