I've never been told by any motel 6 that our two cats must be caged at all times. The reason the night clerk gave David was "so they don't poop on the beds." The reason we stay at Motel 6 as we make our frequent cross-country car trips is the pet policy. Two cats, no hassles. The guy who checked us in was definitely looking to hassle. "We used to allow that, but then one pooped on a bed." Really? Nobody believes you. You just hate animals-- which makes Motel 6 a bad fit for you, and makes this specific Motel 6 a very bad fit for families with non-human members. This place does NOT welcome pets. I am wondering if it's just a way to keep our $100 cash deposit? (They did refund the cash deposit after inspection ... but I have no confidence that our card would not have been charged days after we checked out. If you are forced to stay here, definitely pay cash.) Not carriers, cages. I'm pretty sure this isn't policy. Is this an independently owned location? Can they do this? I won't post until I see if they give the deposit back. They said "as long as you leave after 8" you will be refunded "same day." It's a cash deposit?! Why say "same day?" We don't cage our cats... but we did comply and keep them in their carriers. They were both miserable. Meanwhile, screaming babies are apparently not a "poop in the bed" risk as their cries could be heard throughout the property. . .wait - maybe their parents were also forced to keep them in cages? Edit: The deposit was refunded after the room was examined. The cats had to spend the night in their carriers after eating and using their boxes. I felt sick about this, but we were too tired to drive to the next motel 6-- it would have been dangerous. As other reviews have mentioned, the room was clean enough, and the pool was (sadly) closed. The morning staff was the polar opposite of the night clerk-- despite being a bit sleepy (maybe we woke her...) The person at the desk when we checked out was very nice and even helpful. We followed their rules and (as always) cleaned up the space before leaving. The pillows were hard, and I woke up after very little sleep with pain. We did not use the bathroom and left all but one towel still rolled. The envelope provided to leave a tip was ludicrous after our cats had been forced to sleep in their carriers. No hot water for tea and the coffee was so bad that I didn't care that it was free.... It was pretty cheap, and the deposit was returned--- but if we hadn't been too tired to drive, we would not have stayed. I felt unwelcome. read more

Not Pet Friendly. This is the most unfriendly 'Pet Friendly' place. I specifically booked this place on a road trip because it was cheap and thought it was pet friendly. First thing the guy says is that this place is pet friendly but if the dog goes on the bed it will be $20 extra. I have never heard of such a thing so I looked it up online. Nowhere on the website does it say that. I don't like being lied to. Normally, in the US, if a place chooses to be pet friendly it means they are allowed in the room which includes everything in it and that usually means the bed. We all now what does on in motels and I'd be more concerned with the real problems that go on in these places. read more

Looks nothing like the pictures. It was mostly clean. Tub was so skinny. Bed was really uncomfortable. Only 3 thin pillows for 2 people on the bed. No breakfast in the morning. Coffee machine was broken. No vending machine. Fixtures falling off the wall. Hole in the bathroom door. Housekeeping left an envelope asking for tips. Not sure how many times those key cards and their envelopes have been reused. Would not start here again. read more

Usually stay at the Choice Hotel or the Quality Inn when staying in Beaver. Here for a grandson's Football game. Rooms were all booked in town. Found out that tomorrow is the Beaver Marathon. This chain has gone down hill since the French sold the chain. So I pretty well know what I am in for. To start Front Desk attendant was in her car smoking in front of the lobby outside. She came in just before me as I walked from my car. First impressions are overwhelming cigarette smoke! She smelled like a chain smoker. This made the whole place smell disgusting. Got checked in and went to room. No bedding in the way bedspreads or even a half wrap. Towel rack coming off the wall. Toilet plugged up! They brought a plunger up. Do they check the rooms??? Did I mention that rooms were $20-$30 more tonight also. Like I said I know to much. Grips me and obviously others ( see reviews) that even the low standards can't even be met with the management of this location. As another reviewer said 3 years ago if your a smoker you will love this place. One and done. Wouldn't recommend to anyone unless sleeping in your car any an option. This was one of the worst motel experiences I have ever had. The "one" star is there so I can leave a review. I booked a king bed room with jacuzzi tub through an app but when I arrived at the end of a long driving day I was told that room was not available and it was the app/booking company's fault. The motel charged me their highest rate for their lowest grade room. Once I returned home I tried to get compensation and hold someone accountable. The booking company said they would do something and to look for an email in 7-10 days. I contacted them when I did not hear back and they said there is nothing they can do so I would need to contact the motel directly. I promptly did and was told by the woman there in Beaver "sorry the manager is in the hospital", did not feel in my gut that this was a truth. I do not recommend this place, go anywhere else in Beaver. It is not worth the headache, disappointment or the range of emotions you get from being ripped off. I believe they are intentionally using a booking service in order to scam people. I hope that no one else is duped by them with their bait and switch rooms or have to spend a night in any of their neglected rooms. read more

Stayed here on the way to Colorado. I just want to say that my wife and I will never stay at a Motel 6 again. The towel racks were hanging off the wall, holes in curtain and sheets, and the toilet was not mounted and rocked. On top of this, got bitten by bedbugs. I did file a complaint with AAA. This place was HORRIBLE. I am going from Phoenix, AZ to Spokane, WA. We have 3 dogs. The room smelled disgusting. When the dogs drink they dribble water after. My mum got a towel from the bathroom and it turned black. My mum walks barefoot in rooms but she couldn't and wouldn't for this place. The lock was also rubbish. It was also a bad area. Screaming, yelling, barking (which is normal for dogs but it was non stop). The manager was also rude. He charged us more than the room and dogs. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I usually stay at Motel 6s when I travel with my pets. I came to visit a few of the National Parks in Utah and wanted to try to stay as centrally located as possible, without paying much money on hotel/motel accommodations. Take in mind, Beaver is NOT that close to any of the National Parks in Utah, however I truly did not mind driving, as I used that as an opportunity to explore the area (drove lots of back roads and mountains and thoroughly enjoyed myself). The motel itself was really old. It needed major renovations. It was overall clean, just not very comfortable. The best part about the hotel was the price. It was super cheap. The town was also really small and did not have many accommodations. Needed a grocery store and was pointed in the direction of a Dollar General store by the hotel staff... not exactly what I was looking for. I can see someone staying here if they have business in Beaver, however if they are traveling like me with no particular reason to be in Beaver, I would recommend staying somewhere else, entirely. read more

There were people letting their dogs (3 of them) run up and down the hallways of the motel and motel management did nothing about it. There was a domestic violence incident (people screaming at eachother at the top of their lungs in the hallway of the motel for an hour or better) and law enforcement was not contacted nor did motel management do anything about it. The outside door to the motel was broken (falling off of the hinges). When I entered the room, there was other people's hair visible on the floor and sink. Do not stay here. read more

The rooms were old, had a bad smell to them, bathroom outdated with leaking toilets and shower heads that sprayed most everywhere except down. The floors were dirty. My fiancé' and I had car trouble during a recent cross-country road trip and found ourselves unexpectedly stranded late one night in Beaver City, Utah. With no reservations, and few choices, we ended up staying a night at the Beaver City Motel 6. Although a Motel 6 isn't somewhere I would elect to stay if planning a trip in advance, I have, on occasion (primarily when I was significantly younger), stayed at one or two and have found them to be minimal on amenities, but always clean and kept up. We checked in after midnight, exhausted, had little interaction with hotel staff, and even less expectations of the room. We were asleep 10 minutes later. I awoke to find a bare-bones room. The only thing that struck me was that the sheet covering the bed (which was a flat sheet that had been wrapped around the mattress to have the effect of a fitted sheet, instead of actually being a fitted sheet) had become untucked as we slept, revealing fabric of the mattress we had just slept on. Not only did our mattress appear to be at least forty or so years old, but it was covered in a multitude of different colored liquid stains, varying in color from brown to black. Further appalling was the fact that the motel management had not even bothered to put a mattress cover between this obviously toxic mess and the paper thin sheets. We stayed on the first floor, in the last room in that long corridor, on the left, and slept in the bed closest to the window. After observing the condition of the mattress, it took us about 3.5 minutes to pack our things and fled that place at top speed. So, I really haven't much more to say about it. I attached several photos of the subject mattress. Because I don't want to leave a bad review if there is a chance that, to some folks, this type of filth is not really that big of deal, I'll let you decide. I also posted a photo of the room charges. This is located conveniently off of the highway, so it made an easy stop on our road trip. The room was technically pet friendly (we brought a cat), but there was still a section behind the bed we had to block off with pillows. Not much to say about this place. The room was clean enough, the air conditioner worked but was very loud. I deal with tinnitus and migraines, so the sound of that running all night was not pleasant. I guess I'd stay there again if I had to. It's unfortunate that nicer hotels aren't more pet friendly. read more

We travel at least 30 nights a year for road trips. We learned years ago about Motel 6s awesome dogs stay free policy which combined with low rates and remodeling makes for a great value and no gotchas. The Beaver location exceeded our high value expectations. Nice pool & spa, friendly and prompt check in and we really appreciated the free bottles of water after a long days drive. The rooms are huge and ours was complete with dining table, microwave and fridge. The room was very clean and updated with the flat screen and hardwood/laminate floors. It's great to see management putting forth considerable effort into providing a clean, comfortable room at a really great rate. read more

I rarely do this, but I am royally pissed off. Here's the short version: I booked a room with a Motel 6 in Beaver, Utah. I put in the wrong date, which was 100% my fault and I noticed it at the last minute. I called corporate who called the hotel, and the hotel told them they couldn't cancel it or change it. Corporate then told me there wasn't anything they could do and to call guest relations in the morning. I did just that, and guest relations called the hotel yet again and once again they said the reservation couldn't be changed or canceled and was no longer valid since it was for the night before. Guest relations told me to watch my account to make sure I wasn't charged, and if it was I would be refunded. No charge was made but I decided to check my reservation just to be sure. It turned out my reservation had been changed without my knowledge. I called corporate again, who called the hotel again, and then was told to call the hotel and cancel and it should go through. I called the hotel, and the owner denied changing my reservation and began spitting off lies to me such as corporate never called her, and she was unable to change or cancel my reservation etc. I got upset and told her I was looking at my reservation and it clearly had been changed. She got irate with me and told me that we didn't have a problem and my reservation was cancelled and HUNG UP ON ME. Two hours later and my reservation has now FINALLY been cancelled. I am incredibly confused and feel betrayed as a customer. The motel in question is #4547 in Beaver, Utah and the woman told me her name was Nina and she was the owner and the only person there. I do want to commend the reservation hotline and guest services because they were incredibly helpful and kind. I've been loyal to Motel 6 for years, and I'm severely disappointed with the way I was treated by this motel. I always choose Motel 6 first when it comes to booking rooms, but this incident has made me reconsider my options. read more

Stayed on Aug 3rd overnight at property 4547. Checked in and the guy had no name tag, he was friendly and told me he had a smoking room downstairs that was very nice. The floors were dirty there was hair under the sink, the saftey latch was completely kicked in. There was no dryer in the laundry room, broken lights in the parking lot. The door to the exterior part of the building is broken and won't stay shut so you don't need to use a key to get in. There is a hole in the wall where the bathroom door has slammed into the wall, also a hole on the door where someone kicked the bathroom door. The window does not open and close correctly but my main concern is that the security locks did not secure the window band are there for looks only. Overall I rate this experience a 2/10. I am traveling across the country and wanted a nice place in between campsites and hiking to freshen up and get a good night's sleep. Instead me and my girlfriend were tossing and turning all night as we couldn't relax in a room that felt unsecure. I have had better stays at campsites for less. When I tried to talk to a manager about this I had to have a housekeeper call because no one was at the front desk and no one answered the phone all night long. I understand this is the middle of no where but that is not an excuse. This stay has definitely tarnished the reputation of motel 6 in my eyes. Absolutely will not be back. I will stay in a tent before I stay at this place again. read more

I booked a "King Suite" that was supposed to have a jetted tub in the room. When I arrived and checked in, I was told that they only have one room with a jetted tub and that it was not available. I thought that I would at least be able to use the hot tub that was listed as one of the amenities. After I got settled in my room I went to look at the hot tub. It was out of commission and looked like it had been for a while. I then decided that I would have to settle for the regular bath tub in my room. I proceed back to my room and got ready for a bath only to realize that there was no stopper/drain plug for the bath tub. STRIKE THREE! I wasn't dressed to go and try to ask for one, and I was at the point that I wasn't in the mood. I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel or anything, however I do expect the room and property to match the description of what I booked, and the guy at the front desk didn't seem to care one bit. The description also said that it would have a fridge and microwave but my room didn't have either of them in my room. I have stayed at the Days Inn and the Super 8 in Beaver in the past and I would definitely choose either of them over this property. I will never stay there again. read more

If I could I would give this place 0 stars. DO NOT STAY HERE! We got a 2 queen bed room and as soon as we laid in the beds it flipped to the side. Luckily my dad and my boyfriend caught themselves otherwise both of them would have landed straight on the hard floor. The bathroom lights are exposed and full of dust which is probably a fire hazard. Our bathtub/shower is also leaking and has this black film in it and appears to have recently been showered in but I'm guessing because it's been leaking for I have no idea how long. Staff is friendly but the hotel needs work! This place either needs to be shut down or sold to someone who will run this place properly and take care of it the way it needs to be. read more

I guess we were fortunate enough to have a very different experience than most others here. We didn't get any nasty mattresses, didn't have to deal with nasty front desk attitude (Probably because we checked in late) and we would never use the swimming pool at Motel 6 to begin with. The only one complain I can make is that they didn't have hot water the night I checked in. But prior checking in the owner warned me and gave me a dicount (1 adult rate as suppose to 2 adults). Having stayed at numerous Motel 6, including a few of the run down, old, disgusting non-renovated ones, this modern room Motel 6 isn't as bad as the review described IMO. But again, I WILL heed their words since it is Motel 6. The plus of this particular unit is that they have free wifi. read more
