This is without a doubt, the worst motel or hotel I've ever stayed in my 75 years of life, and I travel a lot. You'd be better off sleeping in your car. It's filthy. The floors are dirty. You never expect much with Motel 6, but this takes it even lower, not to mention the man in the office who got mad at me for coming back for more coffee, the second time. The coffee cups are embarrassingly tiny. The man who works here is rude. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I wish I had some antibiotics to take antibiotics before entering. The floors are Grimey and sticky. There are cockroaches in the rooms. They would let me borrow a broom for less than 1 hour. I even offered to give them something of value until I return the broom. I used my loud Makita Air Blower to solve that. Room is more dust free. Bugs on walls, in showers. Maybe the roaches may be coming out of the drain, I'm not sure. They need a remodeling. The owner absolutely do not care about their clients. It's two in the morning and I still haven't got a warm shower. I've been sitting in front reception for 30 min waiting while they ignore Me. Only hope we got out fast enough that we didn't bring unwanted roommates with us. Within 5 minutes of being there, we found 3 bedbugs, in the pillowcase and sheets, of both beds. It was a terrible experience, after a long day. We were ready for a rest, but had to repack everything into the car and find another place. On a two week road trip, this was our worst experience. Absolute rubbish motel I ever stayed in. Me and my family had to get a new room since the keycard to the last room didn't work because the motion sensor was dead. We got a different room but it was still the same so we called an assistants and they resolve the issue for the first room, it took us 15 minutes to wait. I'm only giving this 2 stars because they got microwave and a fridge but let me give you on why you shouldn't stay here to begin with. For one, it's a crappy motel in a bad place that gives out false promises. Two, it's not even worth the price because $60 is crazy for a place like this. Three, they never clean the bathrooms. I've stayed here twice now, and both times I was impressed with how friendly and accommodating the staff have been. The quality of the rooms was pretty inconsistent. I got one and it was pretty basic, and I got another that had a nice chair with an ottoman and a desk. The shower clearly had not been cleaned and there was still the used bar of soap from the last tenant, which I honestly should probably take off more than one star for, but in general it has felt like such a nice home away from home that I can forgive that. read more

The Motel 6 off of I-15 in Lenwood, Barstow CA is horrible and one of the worse hotels I've ever been at. Had a non-smoking room for my family with one who is disabled. This hotel allows smoking near non-smoking rooms and those that are disabled and allergic to it. When asked and brought this concern to the night staff, I was told by him that "Yes, smoking is allowed by the non-smoking rooms." The whole place smelled like a very strong marijuana smell. Walls are paper thin, as well. Brought up concerns and night staff never offered to remedy the situation. Mattresses are very hard as well as the desk chair. No toiletries or even Kleenex tissue are offered; only a bar of soap is given. Housekeeping only comes to clean rooms and give fresh towels on certain days. Customer service skills are lacking by morning staff. It's springtime and was 90F yet was told by front staff that pool was closed. I would never stay at this hotel again. read more

Microwave didn't have glass inside and the mini fridge froze food that we didn't want frozen. The A/C barely worked and it was very hot out. The male worker there is a total creep didn't stop staring at me my boyfriend had to get his attention, there was also a guest who was creepy and stared who also worked there as what seems to be cleaning the rooms. Someone also asked my boyfriend if he sold meth. The environment outside is the worst also, first night wasn't so bad but second night there was a crackhead outside hanging out when suddenly two trucks pull up and try to chase him down in the parking lot. Third night my boyfriend saw a homeless man try to come after a guest, luckily she got into her room safely. The fourth night we had a neighbor that was going through something and was banging on walls and throwing stuff around the room causing a commotion for a while. We decided to stay an extra night and when we went to go pay they decided to charge us $75 for the night rather than what we originally paid for which was $43. We would have been better off reserving off the app and then checking in. Finally he gave a "discount" and brought it to $60, and when we checked the app again they put the prices up to $75 and after we left the prices conveniently went back down. HORRIBLE 5 nights! I Walked in and booked instead of online. J told me $80 a night and it was 102 degrees and I wanted to get my family out of the heat. ROOM 117 is where We had a huge hole in the ceiling that drips water from the AC upstairs and "J" didn't try to come fix it with a little square piece of drywall until 10:30pm on night 3 of our paid 5 night stay. The shower didn't have pressure and it switched from cold to hot. There is Lots of BLACK MOLD in the bathroom and now myself, my husband, and 2sons have a cough we can't shake that we didn't have before. The sink was broken because it leaked all over the counter so we wrapped a towel around it and tried to keep it from spraying. The key deactivated multiple times leaving me and my husband locked out multiple times. The vending machines were not working even with my card. There was dog poo all over the ground, no pool because it is cemented up. People Stay up all night there, its never quiet. This is FALSE ADVERTISING because these rooms are not "newly remodeled" as it says on the sign. I need my $400 back to be honest because now we are sick and I feel I may NEVER look at a Motel 6 the same way again. Pics on their website / google IS NOT the motel you'll stay at, aside from the screeching piercing almost constant train nearby, many low income people seem to live here which is fine but it comes with some of the odd behavior and things you'd expect, got stranded when car broke down and chose one of cheapest options. The curtains were cut In half, and at bottoms. Shower had terrible looking caulking done. Blanket is thin and cheapest possible material. Pool etc has been filled with concrete. Homeless surround the entire area. All up and down Main Street. There was writing on our rooms wall. A sheet stain. At check in we were handed a small tube of soap and a one shower cap? For two people. So bizarre , 10/10 do NOT recommend , go to another hotel there w a restaurant and save the Uber fees since there isn't many and motel 6 is far from anything halfway decent read more

Just got this room and here, if you are not happy with the room, you have 10 min to inform the front to either get a new room or a refund. After juggling my kids and stuff for the night (including parking and getting to my room) and trying to call the front desk (which the never answered btw) it was beyond the 10 min threshold. I really never been a big fan of motel 6, and after this experience I will never stay in another one again. read more

To start with, this is a Motel 6, so we expected nothing more than a clean place to get a good nights sleep, and they delivered to suit our needs. Good things: All the important things were ok, such as clean room, comfortable beds, working refrig and microwave, good operating HVAC unit, excellent TV and channel selection and a decent price. Plus the office staff were friendly and they are very accommodating for pets, a big plus for us. Bad things: Terrible fit and finish on a number of items such as very crude tile/wallboard repair work in bathroom, hot/cold faucets reversed, non-working USB chargers by beds (but a nice touch if they worked), unfinished table under TV (laminate missing on curved front side showing raw pressed wood). These things could turn some people off, but were easy enough for us to ignore for a one night's stay. read more

I've never been to jail, but imagine a jail cell would be more comfortable. The room lighting could have been taken right off cell block 6. A jail would definitely be more secure as our window lock wasn't just broken- it was entirely missing - so one of us had to stay and guard our belongings while the other went for food. It looks like there are a number of long-term residents, if that tells you anything. They had the unmitigated gall to charge $75 a night- easily twice too much. I feel totally ripped off. read more

After having our truck rental check engine light go on we looked online for a decent priced hotel since we were not expecting to stay in one. We looked online and saw that the online price was 46 for the night. So we decided motel 6 was the one. Since it was.for one night we were ok w it. I made a reservation on line directly at this motel website for Studio6 ten days in advance. The email confirmation to me says first floor and traveling with pets. I arrived to check in at approximately 6:30 pm. The desk clerk said they didn't have any first floor rooms and that SHE--not the company or management--would not allow dogs in a Studio6 room. Then she offered me a Motel6 room at a price match. What!? I was furious so she gave me a whopping $9 discount and told me that SHE--not the company or management--also requires $100 security deposit. None of this is listed on their motel website nor is it in the Studio6 confirmation I received. To top it all off, she said she couldn't give me a receipt because she was out of receipt paper! I see on their website that I was also charged $16 over the most expensive room at the Barstow motel. I guess that's my special My6 member rate! I am 75 years old and have stayed at Motel6 across the country for years and have never (a) had my confirmed reservation denied; or run across such a rude, surly, bully of a desk clerk anywhere. Red Roof Inn will get my business in the future. Oh, I tried to file a complaint on the Motel6 website and guess what. Yeah. It doesn't work. Surprise surprise. read more

Last night was one of the worst experiences of my life. We went to check in at about 9 PM driving from Las Vegas. We were greeted friendly given the keys to room 214 and we headed up the steps. Opening the door the first thing that caught my eye was the corner of the comforter facing the door was missing. I don't know if it was torn off eaten off by a rats are used to clean someone's drug pipe. That was only the beginning. Seeing all the stains on top of the comforter did not make me feel very clean. Turning on the TV hoping to relax and finding there was only one channel didn't help either. Within a half hour I started to get chilly so I went to turn on the heater and surprise to me it did not even turn on. I went down to let the hotel concierge know and they told us we needed to mo e to another room. They then gave me keys to room 208. The key didn't work so I went down again to let the front desk know. He walked up with me used his manual key to open the door thinking that the battery may have been dead in the door lock. To his surprise there was people inside the room. We went back to the front desk in which he let in to room number to 212. He said he did not have a key for the room but would lead us in an out as we needed. That room although it was Cleaner and the heater works had no way of locking the window which was already open. Unfortunately by this time I felt completely unsafe to stay so we return the keys for room 214 and 208 to the front desk and went down the street. Fortunately we were able to find a room at the Beaumont Inn (see my post on them) and was finally able to get some sleep in a clean room with a clean bed. Sometimes you get what you pay for. My wife and I booked a room at this motel for the night of 19 September, 2022. When I inspected the room, I found the bathroom floors were filthy, i.e, sticky, dirt on the floors and what appeared to be mold in the corners. The shower floor was worse, i.e., visible dirt, shoe marks. I asked the attendant to clean the room and he simply looked at me. I asked him for cleaning supplies so that I could clean the room. He met me at the room and handed me a bottle of unmarked cleaning fluid. He had in his hand an old, dirty broom pushed through a filthy towel with a hole cut in the middle. I stated to the person that this would simply push dirt around. As the bathroom was so filthy, I did not wish to risk sleeping in this room. Cleanliness of a public room, particularly a bathroom should be taken seriously and these employees obviously do not clean, they obviously do not know how to clean. This establishment is a public safety hazard and I would advise others to stay away. read more

Stayed May 3rd, 2018. Room was dirty. Towels were not dried, just rolled up damp. No toilet paper. For every issue I attempted to resolve by going to the front desk I was completely ignored. I had to scream at the top of my voice to get someone to come out of the apartment behind the front desk. The other Motel 6 in Barstow will not let guests stay without a 100 dollar deposit in case the towels or sheets are stolen. My advice would be to bypass Barstow altogether. My mistake was looking at the overall rating from hotel.com. I didn't read the yelp reviews. Everything from yelp seems true. The bathroom was like someone moved out of a rental and didn't clean. Homework was even left behind. The under mounted sink was only half attached, the walls, floor and doors were dirty, one bed had cigarettes burns, we didn't have washcloths, soap or shampoo and the towels were stained. The mattress was soap and firm and the sheets were clean. Don't say here unless everything else is booked and it's not safe to drive to the next town. read more

This Motel 6 expects guest to pay $100 in CASH as a deposit for the night . After having to get cash, we were given our room , which smelled like marijuana. After asking for another room, we we greeted by several homeless people who told us that the entire motel is a place for homeless and addicts to sleep. wow, the new rooms are great, especially the studio 6 rooms. the soft decore and lighting, the comfortable beds and the beige earth tones that replace those terrible oranges are wonderful. the floor is imitation hardwood and the whole effect is relaxing. i stayed at this motel in barstow twice, once going to san diego and again on the way back to vegas. the fridge was on and the microwave worked perfectly. the room and bathroom (handicap assist) were immaculately clean and as ususal the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, i'm a fan of this property and my little dog is too. thank you all! read more
