I decided to stay here as well, making it a staycation while I show my friend around town. The hotel itself is in Marina Del Rey, and knowing west LA, I was dreading the parking situation at first. But fortunately, there was no issue finding parking. The rooms here were pretty spacious, with a comfy bed, and great amenities. There is a restaurant on the first floor, which served pretty decent Italian food. For more on that, check out my other reviews. The place is overall very comfortable, spacious, clean, and never too crowded. There is a pool at the back, adjacent to the marina. It is always refreshing swimming there in the daytime, and it's a nice place to relax with a drink in the evening time. This is a great option when visiting LA, or deciding on take a staycation.

The lobby is beautiful. The birds in flight made me stop and look up. The room was clean and comfortable and the view of the marina was everything. I had a minor hiccup with the sink but the staff fixed it while I was out running errands so I wasn't interrupted. The valet was consistently quick and check out was easy. They held my luggage so that I could enjoy salt restaurant one last time. This is my peaceful place now. I'm already planning my return.

When he called and asked if I had ever been here, I responded and said no-to which he added that it was understandable being that "Joe Blow" can't just come in here and plop down for a bite-you need to be invited by a current resident and be placed on the guest list. If you want to be transported back in time, specifically either the 70s or 80s on a Friday night, you'll definitely want to come in and dine. The crowd is a nice mix of resonance or friends and or associates of the residents who live there. And while it's certainly not an assisted living home, the average age of the crowd when we attended was certainly on the north side of 60, and for over half of them pushing 70 easily. The ambiance, physical structure, layout & features (both overt and subtle) of the Dockside restaurant mirrored that (era/time/age of the location in every way-and in this particular case I would argue that's a good thing. My guest and I both went ahead and ordered the chicken tender salad, with him opting for blue cheese and myself going with ranch for the dressing. We both agreed it was better than average. Since I don't do alcohol, I didn't order any drinks, but he stated the two drinks he did order were excellent. All in all a great experience at The Dockside restaurant here at the Marina City Club restaurant where depending on what day and time you arrive, you will be treated to some jazz, old disco, or any combination thereof. If you want to go back in time a bit, it's a nice place to visit if you can get on the guest list.

I called the restaurant on Monday to let them know and there was no response on the phone and on the Google maps it says that the restaurant has permanently closed. I do not live in the area so it's not that easy to just drive up there from Orange County so now I have to deal with my bank and cancel my debit card because obviously when a card has been run six times, there is something going on which is not legit. The food was OK and I'm Margarita was OK but the Billing is not OK. It seems that if this restaurant has shut down and that was the last day, someone was being shady.. one star is one star too many in my opinion.If someone gets back to me,I will remove the review. And I called again today and I actually was able to leave a message, but there was no reading for this number so I don't know if anyone's gonna receive it. I will have to contact my bank in the morning.

I know it primarily because it is the halfway point on my evening run. I always stop and take a look at the view, which in my opinion is magnificent. In fact the Bird Nest is ALL about the view from the patio. You can see from Marina del Rey, to the West (see photo I posted) and Century City, to the East. The spot is truly inspiration point. The next time you are visiting the LMU campus be sure to take the time to visit the Bird Nest and soak in the view.

For some reason, either right before I…read moregraduated from LMU or right afterward, it became a big deal for people who worked for Student Center Facilities or whatever department to refer to this swingin' remnant of the '70s as Bird Nest rather than Bird's Nest. Whatever. This weird clubhouse-like structure will be familiar to anyone who grew up in the '70s or '80s in California. It seems that every place near a beach or a pool had some wooden building with dark windows, a loft, and a conversation pit. LMU's Bird's Nest, or Bird Nest, is no different. I attended many a campus event here, and all of them were disappointing. OK, that's not exactly true. Many of them were wonderful, but Bird's Nest never really lived up to its '70s hype. The loft was always kind of sad, and the conversation pit, while definitely not sad, just never did the best job of maintaining conversations. I will say, however, that it was cool that during pre-orientation my freshman year they had Dazed and Confused on loop here during a mixer. I didn't really watch the movie, and I actually really didn't enjoy this mixer, but this movie and the feelings I had were very appropriate. The Bird's Nest was much cooler when it had a swimming pool next to it. They took that out either in the late '90s or right around 2000. When I was at LMU, it was a tradition that you were thrown into a body of water on your birthday. Most people got thrown into the Foley Pond, which is scary because it's really really really shallow so if you struggled at all you were likely to get hurt. If you had a nice friends, they would throw you into the Bird's Nest's pool. I was one of the throwers once, and the lead thrower counted 2 twice, so I let go of the girl's arms while he held onto her legs. She wasn't injured, but I felt really bad.

We had our pooch with us and booked through a 3rd party site so maybe that's why we got shafted with that room. I prefer to book directly with Hilton Honors but if Jamaican Bay Inn going to sell on Priceline for 25% less. Went to get ice and when I grabbed the ice bucket it was full of water from melted ice from previous guest. There was a fireplace though. Bed was comfortable. The area is chill, 15 minute walk to the beach. Coffee shops, stores and many restaurants super walkable. Parking is thievery at $55 a day. There is a public parking lot right next door for one third that price. Pool and hot tub open yearly. We didn't use. Beachside Restaurant here is cool, relaxed and decent food/beverages. Overall not bad at all. I'd say worth it for the right price!

Located in the heart of Venice, it is of compound of three structures with a plethora of interesting lanterns, lights, collectibles, paintings, sculptures, toys and clocks that make your event that extra special. Plenty of indoor, as well as outdoor seating, your time at any party or reception will be spent just reviewing the wall space, furniture and other cool items in sight. I have been here at least a half a dozen parties and fundraisers and the host is funny, gracious and welcoming. The menu is always inviting ad the main house plays well for any presentation by the host. If you are seeking a truly unique event and experience that will be memorable, check out the iconic Lantern House in Venice.

The best coworking space on the west side! I've tried them all (Wework, Blank Spaces, Spaces, Kinn,…read more& Moss) There's nothing like Beach House, it's literally a block from the beach. The difference is that most of these spaces only offer communal picnic tables to cowork, but at Beach House everyone has their own desk, monitor, and divider so it's more private. This is unheard of at other spaces unless you rent a full time desk. There are tons of spaces to work, and they have a really nice patio. There's phone booths to take calls and free coffee. I ride my bike in three days a week and some days I drive there so I can bring my dog. The plans are pretty flexible and they let me cancel for the holidays the week before my billing period, then resign up after the new year. I've brought colleagues in to work with me and they've been pretty lax about it. Have rented a small conference room from them a few times too, which was really reasonable and convenient. The internet is crazy fast. The staff is super nice. I also have a mailbox with them, so my business address is set up there. Can't beat all the restaurants next door. Oh & they have PUPPIESS. They have a puppy rescue in one of their offices so there's literally puppies there every day. 10/10
