He begins with the traditional shiatsu diagnosis using acupressure, which tells him where my body is out of balance. Even though I've had shiatsu many times, this still seems kind of amazing: "how did he know what hurt without my telling him?" For those who have only had traditional massage, Shiatsu is different: I wear yoga clothes or light garments and the kneading, stretching, tapping, and soothing are done without oil. Ramon has a wonderful energy, that is friendly, relaxed, and peaceful. Even if I enter the studio wound-up or tense, once there, I immediately start to feel calmer and the brain static drops away. Whether or not you've tried Shiatsu before, I highly recommend that you make an appointment with Ramon.

I have had 2 massages before this experience (basic massages at other spas) and this was my least…read morefavorite. I booked stone massages for my friend and I to celebrate our birthdays. I chose this place because they had availability and had great reviews online. The two main reasons I did not like the experience is because we received the wrong massages. Instead of stone massages we received standard massages. Our masseuse was very apologetic when she realized the error while checking us out. I appreciate her confirming that because I otherwise would have thought that's just what stone massages are like. The second reason is because it was hard to relax. There are two massage rooms and the waiting room. We unfortunately could hear everything in the next room because the other masseuse talked very loudly to her patients. All this being said, the massage itself worked. I had some crazy tension in my neck/shoulders area and Brogan worked them right out! She was a professional with the massage and owning the mix-up with massage types. I really loved working with her and would still come back if she had an opening.

After a long hiatus, my back issues crept back up and I started looking desperately for someone to help here in Southern Maine. Amy - like everyone else in the area - was completely booked up on the Friday/Saturday that I was hunting for. But after she could tell I was desperate, she STAYED LATE on Saturday to squeeze me in. And it was seriously awesome. Fantastic, relaxing, thorough massage. Now we communicate about appointments via text. She contributes to the pittie rescues in the area. She lets me know when she has an opening on the weekends (to support my work schedule). She asks about my pets. She laughs at my jokes. She offers me protein shakes or water when the massage is over. She warns me before she puts on the hot stones (even though I wish she didn't, the shock is awesome). She uses Square for CC payments, which is convenient as all get out. Oh yah, she gives rockstar massages, too. I always feel like a million (super relaxed, worthless for a couple of hours) bucks after leaving her office. If you're after deep tissue, this isn't the place...but if you need an excellent massage that will leave you dozing off occasionally, you must go see Amy. I've probably been in to see her a half dozen times already. And I'll keep going back.

I discovered a decade ago a very firm leg massage (not foot massage) turns me from hobbling in pain to ready to run a mile and is the only thing that works. I hadn't had a massage in a long time and after 6 months the pain was disturbing my sleeping, so I visited Susie for the first time. After her work the result was: 1. an hour later the pain was gone. 2. 3 months later (with no change in routine, the pain was still gone) 3. a year later I did go back as the pain returned a bit, but considering I've gone to other massage therapists and returned a month later or walked away with no change this is a major improvement and I never expected it to be permanent. 4. after the massage I felt like she pulled my body apart and put it back together. While she was doing the leg massage she also covered my neck, head, arms, back, since all the body is connected (hint: avoid a masseuse who just does the legs or feet but nothing else) and discovered a point on my back that was really full of tension. She was right. I hadn't told her about it. She's that insightful. A month later I went back for a follow-up polarity therapy session. I never had one, but was amazed how it was the perfect follow-up to the previous work. Susie knows her stuff. She's brings a holistic approach to the bodywork. I find sports massage too clinical, so Susie is perfect with a great environment. Just one table and its just her. She's also enjoyable to just be around. For those who are modest everything is covered. I can't recommend her enough and then a bit more.
