Literally IN LOVE with this place. Finally, something fun in Merrifield. Tons of free parking, Chipotle, Coldstone, Sweetgreen, Noodles & Co., Taylor Gourmet, retail shops, and target?? Just to name a few. It's like they want me to be broke and fat. Adorable baby boutique (but I forget the name...oops). Gorgeous outdoor spaces with fountains that my son loves to play in. We spend many warm afternoons eating ice cream and getting soaked. Theres a movie theatre there, but I haven't given it a try yet. HIDDEN SECRET: THERE IS AN URGENT CARE FACILITY INSIDE ONE OF THE PARKING GARAGES THAT ALSO IS A LABCORP. I always go there for my blood work, never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Amazing. read more

I love the stores and restaurants in the Mosaic, but this review is for the Eden's Property Management which manages Mosaic. Mosaic/Eden's Property Management has towed several cars without proper signage, which is illegal in Virginia. I parked overnight in front of the Avalon, and where I parked there was not a single sign referencing their supposed "no overnight parking between 3-6am" rule. These signs are scattered on various streets (3 in total) and there were NONE near where I parked. Additionally, Virginia requires that the sign indicate where your car was towed to. Again, this was not present. When told about their lack of signage they declared that the manager was "working on it". What the heck? If you are working on it then don't tow my car, that simple. How is one to know they are not supposed to park somewhere when you don't tell them? They aren't. And what Eden's did is illegal. Beware that they are crooks and you can end up losing $185. read more

I remember back when this place was the Multiplex--the coolest place to have your parents drop you off in middle and high school. Now, fortunately, they built Mosaic. It has a great, indie-type, movie theater, fast-casual restaurants, Target, ANTHROPOLOGIE, and tons of other great shops and places to eat. There is a cute little lawn area in front of the movie theater where kids can play, and this summer they have had weekly free power yoga on the lawn--which is great if you don't mind strangers watching you do "happy baby" pose. There is free garage parking, which I have never seen full. It also has one of those systems that tells you how many spaces are open on each level. Definitely visit Mosaic if you're in the area. read more

You have to admire the concept: Bringing a European vibe, complete with outdoor art festivals and farmer's markets, to this suburban wasteland between Falls Church and Fairfax. This is where the Arlington-Lee Highway Multiplex was several years ago (and a drive in theater before that, if you are a true native to the area and remember our drive in theaters). The giant Merrifield post office is nearby as well as a shitty towing company through the trees where you can hear Dueling Banjos play as you drive up their dirt road to retrieve your illegally towed car. But I digress..... Mosaic is a cool concept. A Target located on the fourth floor of a midrise where you lock your shopping cart into mechanical escalator-like gizmo? Check. At least four farm-to-table organic restaurants? Check. Hip DC-based chains like Ted's Bulletin and MatchBox? Check. A chic movie theater that makes one feel as if he's seeing a film at the Kennedy Center? Check. Mom's Organic Market? Check. Ample parking spaces for bikes and chargers for electric cars? Check. The only thing (sorely) missing here is a wine and beer store. Hopefully one is in the works. read more

I can't decide whether I love or hate this place. It's so damn clean and futuristic in design that it would make any human being feel hairy and disorganized in comparison. It feels like a movie set in 2060 that's about to get bombed or laser-blasted by aliens. Everything is super "green" yet escalators run constantly in many of the buildings. But then, there are places like Mediterrafish and Mom's Organic Grocery that are so right on.... I will give an enthusiastic thumbs up to the Angelika movie theater. Plush purple velvet seats and EXCELLENT projection - I will pay the extra gazillion dollars to go here, happily. read more

This is a decent pedestrian friendly area to get a few different things done whether you have a specific task or are just killing time. There are a couple areas to park without very much difficulty which is a bonus and increases my likelihood of being willing to use the area. I have gone here to mill around while waiting for someone a couple times, either enjoying coffee and reading, a snack, or checking out the Target options. I have met someone and chatted for a while and used it as an area to walk around with a friend who was working to get her all important steps in. I have yet to feel the same Angelika love as other folks but I do like that there are numerous lunch, dinner, and dessert options. In terms of shopping, as I said, I have visited Target and the My Eye Dr. I suspect I will visit this area pretty regularly especially since it is just off of Gallows Road which I travel regularly. read more

This is the most beautiful and fun shopping center in Northern Virginia, and possibly the surrounding DC metro area altogether. There's plenty of free parking and the layout is very simple yet somehow there are a multitude of stores organized within a couple blocks. In less than a minute, you will be able to walk from a gym, to Target, to a row of restaurants, and maybe even get some clothes shopping done. And let's not forget the gorgeous Angelika theater, whose outdoor area also holds weekly community events for people of all ages. While you may not find too many "name-brand" shops in Mosaic, there's definitely a little something for everyone. I highly recommend stopping by this place, especially during a nice sunny day! read more

Mosaic District (in the Fairfax/Merrifield area) is hands-down one of the best shopping centers in the DC Metro Area. I can't believe I didn't know that something this wonderful was right here in my own backyard! It's truly a hidden gem that still has that shiny-and-sparkly-brand-spankin-new vibe going on, and I wish it could stay that way forever. (Don't tell anyone else about it, ok? Shhhhh, it'll be our little secret...) This development has a great mix of retail, dining, art, and residential space. From Anthropologie to Neiman Marcus Last Call, all you fashionistas are sure to find something special to add to their closets. And whenever you need to grab a bite, there are plenty of quality food options at various price points -- from Le Pain Quotidien to Cava. You can catch a great show at the theater, or buy one of the nearby townhomes if you've got it like that! Oh, and did I mention that there's a Target? And two FREE parking garages? Ummm, yeah, this place is amazing! In sum, Mosaic District is well worth a visit -- especially if you are looking for a place to do some non-mall shopping, a place to bring your out-of-town guests to, or a good place to stroll on a lazy Sunday afternoon with your significant other. read more

There's always something fun happening at the Mosaic District. Huge fan of the weekly farmers market. From time to time the Angelika theater will show movies on the big screen outside the theater for families. Couple months ago they showed the World Cup. On Sunday's you can see The Walking Dead inside of one of their many awesome theaters. From time to time there's festivals here. People holding a group yoga class in front of the Angelika. The traffic here is a bit much, people are still getting to know the Mosaic area. But it's worth it for all the things the Mosaic has to offer. read more

Great new development with plenty of restaurant choices and boutique shopping. Great place to spend with family. There is an open field where many children play. Great restaurants to try: True food kitchen - farm to table concept, healthier options, great juices and cocktails Sisters Thai - Delicious Thai food with unique interior decorations Jinya - great ramen spot Choolah - fast Indian food with higher quality ingredients Taylor - American sandwich restaurant Cava grill - Mediterranean salads and rice bowl options, delish! Dolcezza - yummy gelato! read more

Love everything about the mosaic district, most specifically the target, alex and ani, the noodles and company, the Panera, okay you got me, I love it all! Not a huge fan of parking garages but I realize it's necessary for so many businesses in such a small space. There's so much to do here whether it's seeing a movie, grabbing a bite, or some dessert, a coffee, or doing some shopping. It's clear they modeled their idea off of reston town center and they did a fairly good job! read more

Who doesn't love Mosaic?! It's a great addition to the area. It is centered around the fourth-floor Target (with three floors of parking below it) and the Angelika movie theater. The lawn between the two is where a lot of the activities occur. I've been to their free yoga classes held on the lawn several times--and I'm excited to see they recently added a weeknight class as well! It is so pretty to be out there on a Sunday morning for free yoga--with solid teachers to boot! I haven't had a chance to attend the other events held on the lawn yet (e.g. movie night), but I do enjoy watching the kids play in the fountains. The mix of movie theater, outdoor seating, and places for big bites (Matchbox) or little bites (gelato, chocolate, etc.) make this the perfect location for date night! The only downside is that every other person in the area thinks so too! I won't review individual shops here, of course, but I will say that they have selected a nice mix of food/shopping/entertainment and have organized the placement of the shops well. I wish there was a bit more of a skew to the mid-scale vs. the high-end (and honestly, worry a bit about how the non-food businesses will survive), but overall I like it and definitely shop there a fair amount. read more

parking is great and shops are upscale. Just what we needed over here. Hate the fountains though.

I love this shopping center and can't believe it didn't exist just a few short years ago. The target is huge and clean. The outdoor seating is great. The movie theater is awesome. There are a lot of great food options. It is a great place to walk around and waste away an afternoon. read more

Mosaic is a modern town center in Nova, conveniently by 66, 395 and 495. At the center, right in front of the Target/parking deck, is the community lawn in front of Angelika Theatre. This lawn has fake grass, but it's fairly expansive given the size of Mosaic itself. The area looks like it's probably going to keep expanding out, but currently, there's a really nice mix of popular and boutique retail stores, coffee shops, and restaurants at all price points. It's also a dog-friendly area, which is the best when you want to take Fido beyond your neighborhood, but you're not hardcore enough to go hiking. read more

Mosaic - Shopping Centers Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

Mosaic shopping center is part of the new trend of adding "town center" developments around or near Metro stations. It is pretty upscale even though there's a Target anchoring the shops. It is still finishing construction but has some really nice boutiques and shops. Everything from cafes, clothing, movies and Target. This is a great place for visitors and really great for residents. And if Mom's Organic is too pricey, you have some organic selections at Target, and there's always the great produce selection at H Mart and Great Wall supermarkets down the street - also within walking distance. The parking is great, there are at least 3 free parking garages and minimal street parking. It's best to walk anyway - the development is well laid out and pleasant to just go for a stroll. We visited a lot of stores and we're pretty impressed overall. It's nice to have a place like this in Merrifield. read more

I wish I understood why Mosaic bugs me so much. My wife thinks it's fine, other friends have good things to say, it's got a nice mix of people. And yet... there's just something about Mosaic's fake urbanism/manufactured density that leaves me cold. The streets don't have to be so narrow, the skyline so choked, the housing so cramped. It's that way -- I assume -- to appeal to suburbanites who wish they were in the city. Yet...the city is nearby. Why not just go into DC? Also, I don't get the enthusiasm for what has to be the world's most expensive farmer's market, or a Target that requires you to go up three flights to get to the ground floor. OTOH, they do have some good eateries there -- Four Sisters, Taylor's, Matchbox, Ted's. That's why we go there sometimes. But, when we do, I mostly look forward to getting the heck out of there. read more

There's nothing not to like at the Mosaic District. Shopping (an awesome Target and lots of boutique stores), the best movie theater around, a water area for the little ones, gelato, salads, restaurants, parking, a fish store, MOM's Organic Grocery, etc. It's all here! Check it out if you haven't yet. read more

Big fan of Mosaic now, and expect to be more so in the future when the newer mixed use residential/commercial spaces get some interesting places in them. The area is very walkable, and has everything you need to spend an entire day, from movies on the lawn (Fridays in the summer) to shopping and dining (of course), to free wine tastings. There is one downside to this place, though: it seems to attract the most incompetent parallel parkers you can imagine. read more

This place is amazing. My kids love the water fountains and outdoor movies they occasionally play. I wish there were more places to eat. :D but i love target, movies, and the outdoor play area. This review is for the Edens Property Management. They have cracked down on parking so much that it is impossible to park overnight. They must get kickbacks from the towing company. My main issue: let's say you go to one of the numerous restaurants, have a bit too much to drink and try to be responsible and Uber home--you're penalized and out nearly $200. It's morally reprehensible! In addition, they need to do something about the guys revving their engines and drag racing down the street at night in their luxury cars. Otherwise, the place gets five stars. read more

I love the Mosaic District, the shops, the restaurants, and the walkability. I've visited two of the last three weekends. With my most recent visits though, I'm starting to feel like crossing the street is dangerous. The intersection at Strawberry and District is getting busier and busier and drivers are getting more and more impatient. Traffic can be stopped for minutes at a time as pedestrians dominate the crosswalks (as they should). The problem is traffic backs up, drivers start edging into the crosswalk, pedestrians persist and, it seems, its only a matter of time before someone gets really hurt. Mosaic needs to hire a traffic policeman or put in a traffic light to deal with its own popularity. Last weekend, we went to a movie which ended about 10:30. We walked outside and were stunned by all of the adults who were smoking. It was like walking into a bar where smoking is allowed. Mosaic needs to enforce all the non-smoking signs and smoking should not be allowed on the playground with all the kids!! read more

I love this area and can't get enough of it. They've done a GREAT job expanding the Mosaic with awesome new stores and restaurants. I heard they have movies during the summer which is like to try out. Parking isn't the best but also isn't the worst. I believe there are a couple parking garages and a few street spots. Definitely worth the walk around :) read more

It's okay. It's very modern. Has a really nice movie theater. Target store has clothes that are already picked through and ghetto compared to other targets. Not much going on really since this is fairly new. Still building more stores but a lot of stores and restraunts that are new are places that people never heard of and barely go to like unpopular boutiques. Really not a lot of action going on, but I will go here for a quick eat at a restaraunt and the movie theater ofc. read more

This is the sort of development that should be encouraged. Is it annoyingly overpriced at times? Yes. Are some of the stores annoying? Yes. But it's still head and shoulders above other shopping centers in NOVA and there is TONS of parking. Love the outside screen and play areas ... it's what encouraged my baby to stand all by herself during the LEGO movie in Spanish, after watching World Cup games all summer. Bravo! read more

Mosaic District should refrain from promoting restaurants in their development that serve alcohol, as there are no overnight parking options and they will tow your vehicle if you happen to be a responsible adult who chooses a ride share service to get home. read more

The Mosaic district is a fairly brand-spanking new mixed-used community that isn't quite sure if it's in Fairfax, Falls Church or Merrified. Seriously, pick a few addresses there and they'll list each of those cities as their location, I don't know if that's Fairfax County's doing (because some areas do have some wacky boundary lines) or if someone was confused during the planning phases of this project or what. So if you're plugging an address here into your GPS, don't fret if one address doesn't match up to another. If you're taking a metro it's a few minutes' walk from the Merrifield metro stop which is undergoing its own fair share of make-overs and overpriced luxury apartment construction so just be mindful of your surroundings if you're hoofing it over public trans style. Anyway....this is a growing community and there seems to be new businesses added to their roster on a regular basis. It's still not quite as polished and completed as other locations with a similar vision of the urban suburban oasis, but it's definitely heading there and is a welcomed change of pace to this part of Fairfax County. There's two FREE parking garages there, a wide variety of different restaurants from casual eats to food critic reviewed and approved culinary delights, a few boutiques, hair studio, a couple of doctors offices and clinics, and a few specialty shops like a bicycle shop although there's no bike lanes (yet) on the nearby roads. Angelika Film Center and Café provides the area with a lovely arthouse movie theater that plays foreign, indie, and arthouse films along with regular late-night features. Lastly, having this new development here has greatly improved the roads nearby and added some well-needed additional traffic lights. Albeit, their intent was make it easier to get to Mosaic but the residual benefit is that now it's a little easier to get around that area in general. read more

Great spot that gets better every month. Great parking in 3 diff garages and more opening. Only complaint with the complex is the construction on the back side but of course that is a necessary evil and looks to be done by late summer 2017. read more

Mosaic has a fun group of stores and has sponsored a bunch of cool events since their opening. Some family friendly, some oriented more towards the younger scene. I love that I have some theater, shopping, and dining options that are closer to home, but I wish they had planned a bit better for bicycles. This place needs better access by bicycle! The Dunn Loring metro is so close, yet there are no bike lanes yet and the surrounding roads are huge! read more

Great 'new' area. The glass and steel feels somewhat overdone -- overly industrial -- and runs the risk of putting me off, but I then get caught up looking around at the restaurants, shops, the movie theater, the open park area, and all the people, and feel the warmth and liveliness of the area. The developers have done an excellent job of putting together a variety of shops and restaurants that cover a range of interests and price points. The restaurants in particular are full of character. The loads of FREE PARKING is another huge benefit of the area, and sets it apart from similar areas around NOVA and DC [and especially National Harbor, across the Potomac from Alexandria, where a 3 hour or so visit will bring you to the maximum $13 cost in its garages]. The open-air movie showings during warmer-weather months bring huge and varied crowds. read more
