What an excellent event! The set up is clear and the finished products look amazing. When you arrive, you are seating with other parties. The table has several color varieties of tiles and beads. You are given all of your items in neatly labeled boxes and they do a great job explaining how to proceed. First, you use the design mats to help guide your creativity. You can create your own designs, but the mats have several small and large options that are basically a paint by numbers where you get to decide which colored tiles to use. This was honestly the hardest part-deciding on which colors to use. They do have finished pieces on display if you, like me, are a visual learner. Then you start the gluing process. Yes, it is a bit messy, and yes there is a learning curve on how much to put on-but the glue is very forgiving and it is so cool to see your design come to life. Then, the real chaos begins. You mix colored beads together to fill in the areas between the large designs. It is a gluing and bead bouncing Bonanza and this is when you finally understand why everyone has a lunch tray-gotta catch those falling beads. Your piece needs to dry for 12 hours, so take home some of those extra beads just in case you realize their are some bald spots when she is drying. After dried, you grout the piece to really cement everything in. I'm still on the "get all the beads on there" phase, so I will let you know in part two how it ended up. There is also some tea and Turkish delight (has nuts) to enjoy, so if you are looking for a unique crafting get together, I highly recommend!

Lots of design ideas and color schemes to choose from. Helpful instructors walked around offering aid. One star off because it felt rushed at the end. Overall good experience.

went here for one of the Turkish lamp ceramic-making classes and it was a good time! I got the Aladdin Lamp, which was $94.50 total for the Black Friday deal. Worth it because now I have cute centerpiece and light source for when I am at home. Makes for good decoration and has a practical use. The set includes a toolbox kit so you can grout your creation at home after 24 hours elapsed since you placed the beads. I wish that part of the process was covered in the reservation bullet point notes before you pay. It is important to use the grout so that the pieces of your lamp stay permanently in place and have a brighter look. The set also has the parts for your specific lamp and the LED light bulb. When gluing the pieces onto my glassware for the lamp, I made the mistake of placing too much glue, so the pieces were essentially "ice skating" along the glass lolol ! Just put a thin layer of glue for your ceramics and more glue for the beads that you sprinkle on top. I liked that the instructor made rounds for each table to ensure that everyone was on the same page. She helped with color coordination and to answer clarifying questions. She also offered this "Turkish delight" , which was one small sugared gummy , as well as a small baby cup of tea. It was like an espresso shot size. Would be nice if there were other "Turkish delights" available in case someone did not want the gummy cube. Nonetheless, such a tidy studio, which is impressive as a lot of beads spill when placing the ornamental embellishments on your lamp glassware

We had a great time creating beautiful mosaic lamps & tapping into our creative energy. The kits along with the hands on guidance and instructions helped us along the way!

We had so much fun making mosaics! I chose a candle holder so mine was faster. It's much harder than it looks!!! It takes a lot of patience and a steady hand haha. We really enjoyed the Turkish Tea but couldn't done without the delight or given something else in its place lol. Overall it was a calming and enjoyable experience!!! Xoxo

This was such a cool, unique and fun thing to do! I loved how creative you could be and there was really no way to fail! We got to pick our colors, try them out on different patterns and then place them on our piece we chose. I did the mini table lamp and my boyfriend did the sconce. We were served tea and a sweet treat while we designed with the mosaic glasses. So much fun, would and am doing it again and already recommended it to so many people!

Marisa, Sheryl, and Enis were FANTASTIC. So nice and very helpful in the process of making the lamp. It definitely looks more daunting to do than it is. We had such a good time. They gave you Turkish tea and Turkish delight to enjoy while you're making your art! Definitely will come back

I was intrigued by the FB ads for The Mosaic Art Studio, and decided to try my hand at breaking a candle holder. In Indianapolis, the studio is located in the Stutz Building. Eclectic for sure! But easy to find, easy parking and the studio was easy to find. What an experience! Faced with so many small dishes of glass pieces- all colors and shapes along with a template of designs. I played with several before deciding on a pattern I liked. Kurt provided great instruction and feedback too. I liked my finished product! (Loved the discount coupon too). This two hours was a nice way to spend some time just creating something.

For several long weekends starting at Black Friday weekend, the Kirkland Arts Center revamps its space to be a holiday art market. It's a fantastic opportunity to buy locally made artisan pieces. From a few dollars for a card, to tens, hundreds, and even thousands of dollars for pottery, jewelry, and exquisite one-of-a-kind art, there is something for everyone. I was here on "Shop Small Saturday". Not surprising, I was pleasantly pleased with the variations of art works offered, from wearables, to functionals, and decorative, I eyed pottery bowls, jewelry, wall art, and these beautiful ceramic bouquets. I did walk away with a pretty piece. Yay, me. Check their hours before going. The shopping season is ending soon; they'll turn back into a pumpkin - i.e. an art center.

The full process took about 3 weeks total. Our pottery class was on March 29th, we came back to paint on April 12th, and then picked everything up on April 17th. It honestly felt like such a fun extended experience getting to come back and see everything through. The painting portion was super enjoyable too. They offer a variety of glazes, some classic colors included at no extra cost, plus a few specialty options for a small fee. My fiancé chose the "Safari" glaze (just $1 extra), which had these cool glass pieces that melt in the kiln and create such a unique pattern. Definitely worth trying if you want something a little different! Pickup was easy overall. My only small suggestion would be to clarify the pickup hours on the card that's handed out after painting. Google hours seem to reflect member hours, while the hours posted on the door are different. When I arrived, they technically weren't open yet (my mistake, I'm sorry!), but the person at the front desk was super kind and still helped me find my pieces, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, such a great experience from start to finish. Thank you so much Creative Hands Studio, we'll definitely be back!

There was fun music playing the whole time, which was really nice for painting and socializing. They had a decent selection of beverages, including wine, beer, cider, soda, and water. When we arrived, we used the kiosks to check in, sign the waiver and input our contact information. This becomes important later in order to receive your post-game video highlights via email & text. After this, a staff member took us to the back and guided us on how to suit up. Each person must wear a vest and a total of four sensors that strap on to each wrist and ankle. We then entered our game room and the employee assisted us with strapping on the headsets which launched us into the virtual world! It's so cool to look around what was previously just an empty room and see your teammates in their animated state. After a quick tutorial, we were handed the weapons we selected and the game began. Without going into too much detail, we were "transported" into a city that has been overrun with zombies, zombified dogs, birds and other monstrous creatures. The game lasted about 30 minutes and took place across three different stages. You are truly immersed in the environment. When the zombies attack, it appears as if they are right in your face and your vest vibrates upon their contact. When you're shooting, keep in mind that accuracy counts! For attire, wear light clothing as you'll be moving the entire time, equivalent to a bit of a workout. The gear itself is pretty lightweight, but the headset is not super comfortable. Understandably, it needs to be strapped on tightly, but it felt like my cheeks were being pulled down and about halfway through, it seemed like the headset was slightly clouding up. Four of us played the Deadwood Valley game and the rest of our group played Unbound Fighting League. For UFL, only two players can play at a time, so you will spend some time sitting on the sidelines. The 30 minutes of gameplay went by quickly and then one of the employees showed us our video highlights on a large screen, which were entertaining to say the least! The videos are immediately sent via email / text as well. This virtual reality experience was super fun and very unique, however it was $60 per person for 30 minutes of a single game. To me, that seems fairly steep. For that price, it would have been nice if they allowed you to play two games (or offered some type of package deal to do that), however I'm sure that's all part of their strategy to get customers to return.
