The in - town location as well as the decor gave it a wonderfully quaint feel. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable (in a European context). It was rather busy in this diminutive establishment when we visited but we were able to find a spot for the three of us. Our server attended to us quickly and did a great job taking care of us. She checked up on us at adequate intervals without being intrusive. The menu offered many tempting options from which to choose. My colleagues went for the Specialty Bakery Salad and the Pasta Carbonara. But I am a breakfast fiend and I had not had eggs for breakfast that day. As such, I opted for the Salmon Omelet with brie, mushrooms and onions. There were large strips of brie embedded, which seemed quite unusual. It was terrific and I would recommend it if you try this place. Our meals were capped with excellent coffee. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my experience in this delightful little shop. If you are in central Bergen op Zoom, it is definitely worth a try.

Try one of their mixed options to get a true taste of their menu. Gyro meat is by far my favorite. Am I big fan of the feta sauce with the chicken I highly recommend the saganaki. These are squares of perfection topped with some utter sweetness. I can not say that any better. It was almost hard to share with the hubby. I love going to Crusio because all the ice cream is gelato and it is always fresh and creamy! It is a family business that has passed down their recipe to the present day, and honestly some of the most delicious ice cream I have ever had. The service is always friendly and the "ice cream girls" and "ice cream boys" as Crusio calls them will always greet you with a smile on their face. It was more traditional than some of the gastronomy courses we have seen on their Instagram, but it was midweek and the clientele most likely come for something more classic. This would be a fantastic restaurant in Amsterdam, Antwerp, or Rotterdam, but for BOZ it is breathtaking. On top of that, the value for the quality and attention to detail are second to none in the area. There is even a gigantic teepee stocked with benches and candles for a private and bohemian atmosphere! The dining room is naturally lit and accented with chandeliers. It is small but the windows and high ceilings make it feel spacious. It is truly beautiful and "gezellig" (comfy/cozy/relaxing). Our menus were obviously in Dutch, but nearly everyone in Holland speaks perfect English and are more than willing to translate. The food is gorgeous, fresh, and so, so yummy. The favorite dish was the Gambas (shrimp) with garlic sauce. Villa Heidetuin is the epitome of a lovely dining experience, if you will be in the Netherlands, take the short trip out to Bergen op Zoom to experience it!
